Hello everyone, I am from Vietnam and I am planning to study in your wonderful university. However, I am little bit worried about the living costs in Norway. Are there any ways I can lower the costs of living? Is it possible to travel by train to Sweden to buy food? Is part time job for English speaking students easy to find? Thank you so so much.

Hi there! I'm not a student in NMBU although I want to study in NMBU too next year! In regards of the living cost, Norway is one of the most expensive countries in the world, however has a very big minimum wage. It differs from job to job so you can check it out on internet specifically for which part-time job do you want to apply in Norway. It is best for you to study Norwegian before going to Norway in order for you to broaden your job opportunities in Norway because if you are only speaking in English, the job opportunities gets narrowed and probably you can get a job as a newspaper delivery (but it'll not be that nice during winter), or working in magazine office, albeit I don't know specifically what you can do in a magazine company. For travelling to Sweden, I don't know if you can go by train to Sweden to buy food only, sounds like you're going to waste a lot of money just to buy cheaper food. You also need to consider that Norway cost of living is almost the same as in London, therefore you can picture it how Norwegian and international students can survive in Norway like how students in London survive. Hope that helps!
