Oppenheimer - Can You Hear The Music [Soundtrack Re-creation]

"Can You Hear The Music" originally composed by Ludwig Göransson.
Aural transcription and arrangement for virtual instruments by Timothy Richards.
As a sucker for exponential rhythms I've been looking for an excuse to try programming some. This also served as a good reason to try out some newly acquired synth samples & plug-in's as well.
I didn't fancy working out the tempos for each individual modulation, so instead opted to use one fixed tempo and squash each phrase down accordingly.
Though tedious, slotting each progressively smaller segment together bit by bit proved quite satisfying.
Good fun, eh?
Enjoy!

From Wikipedia: "In the piece "Can You Hear the Music", he employed 21 tempo changes-a large feat for a live orchestra. Originally, Göransson called it "unplayable" and planned to record the song bar-by-bar, but his wife encouraged him to record the song in one take. After much experimentation, the music team achieved this by playing a click into the musicians' headphones before every tempo change. This piece alone took three days to record."

Honestly, this is my first time commenting and I feel that you’ve captured the essence and the feeling people get from hearing this piece alone. Knowing you did it by ear makes it even more impressive, and you used your gift of talent to making such a wonderful recreation. We all feel you deserve to go to a higher ground with this kind of talent, and you have a lot of potential to do so much with it alone. I literally feel like I’m levitating and that this whole piece sounds like a whole Orchestra. Ludwig’s masterpiece spread like a chain reaction, causing talented people like you to share it on the internet. You’re wonderful, this whole thing was and still is incredible. You’ve nailed it, Timothy. Props to you. I hope you’ll grow more and that your talent gets recognized more. These comments are proof of you being recognized for what you really are. You can definitely hear the music and produce wonders with it. Keep doing what you’re doing :)

I have no idea how this one piece can be this good. It fits incredibly within the tone of the movie, stands on its own, collides with itself, collapses inward over and over in its unyielding acceleration, delights, but yet almost enrages the senses. This piece is massively inspiring and captivated me the instant I heard it in the theatre. I'm so excited to see how it's done the same to so many others.

The cut at the end just makes it all worth it, like how it fades out over time, very good and nice job!! Edit: I feel that this should have been in the actual movie, not that the original is bad but this one has a bit more push and shove to it, especially because it was made electronically and not from actual instruments, and once again: nice job and can't believe you did this from ear!

Recreations especially digital usually sound like a uninspired copy but this gives off the same vibe as the full orchestration but in it's own magical way. Love it.
