Actually, I learned from the wiki that Tarta bird fell and since he is opila's mate, she was going to save him, and I don't think they would have attacked the player anyways since in the wiki I looked at it said Opila looked to the player to signify that she trusted the player to watch over her child and keep it safe until they were back, I don't think they'd attack someone they decided to trust to be a babysitter for their child

Yeah, I love that Opila decided to entrust the player with her child, it shows that perhaps Opila bird isn't evil, most likely confused by an unfamiliar person in her environment, and she likely grew fond of said player, or at least figured out the player wasn't there to hurt her or her family
