Apocalypse Now, Full Metal Jacket and Platoon are not just three of the greatest Vietnam movies ever made, but three of the best movies ever made, period. As supplementary material, I would recommend anyone who is a fan of those films watch the Vietnam documentary called Hearts and Minds. It goes in deep to the root causes of the conflict, and shows factually why it was completely fucked-up, unnecessary bloodshed on America's part.

The losses of Patrice and Greg Giraldo both were the two hardest losses to accept for me in comedy. They were SO. Unbelievably. Talented. Genuinely so much left in the tank and I would give anything to hear Patrice’s take on the modern world. He was literally blowing up as he passed away. The same for Greg. He was unbelievably talented and so well prepared. He just couldn’t beat his demons and both of them couldn’t stand the game they were forced to play and it had them so deeply pushed into their vices that they ended up killing them. I would give one of my lungs to hear a Patrice, Jim Norton, Greg giraldo and Bill burr podcast. Even just one 5 hour episode. I’d listen to it every week. I really do miss them.

This clips shows why people say Patrice Oneal was his own worst enemy. Dude gets the high profile, final spot at the biggest roast in Comedy Central history, and his entire thought process is one of paranoia and self-destruction. Why would the organizers of the roast intentionally tank their own show, just to destroy the career of somebody relatively unknown? If they wanted to make him unknown, they would have simply left him off the invite list. The Roast was clearly a good move for his career. Patrice himself says here that the it boosted his fame. Makes you wonder how many times he turned down other opportunities out of his insecurity and paranoia
