"Opiate²" from Tool's "Opiate²" single (2022).
And there it is.. The first transcription of the studio version, but also the first cover on KZread it seems. There are basically no tabs for this extended version so I hate to start from scratch (Except for the original Opiate parts). I’d say that it’s quite a solid first tab for now. Now I have noticed that the studio version isn’t exactly the same as some of those live videos. So before you start telling me that you have live proof of a mistake, just bear in mind that Justin changed it up a little. The middle part (after the build-up with the whammy) probably is the least accurate part of this tab since it’s basically one big mess. It’s very hard to tell what Justin is playing, even with live videos. The guitar and the bass are playing in the exact same range of notes so what might sound like a bass, is actually a lower guitar note. And then some of the obvious guitar parts might actually be some of the bass track. But yeah, I have done many checks and I’m pretty sure that I haven’t missed anything too big. Not like at the end of Fear Inoculum lol.
Some important information that nobody is going to read.

I don’t know why the tab player suddenly went out of sync during bar 115 (6:02). Just follow the sound there. Anyway, enjoy!

I think it’s because you accidentally set them to quarter notes instead of dotted eighth notes.

Probably.. The weird thing is that those notes were synced up perfectly in Go PlayAlong 4. Oh well
This has to be said. Without your channel id be an unmotivated and shitty bass player, you have never failed to deliver over the years and for that i really appreciate what you do. I mean the tune came out like 8 hours ago and u have already covered it. I fucking love you man!

Those first couple of bars are so simple, but it's so Chancellor. Obviously the majority of the tune is from the D'Amour era and I absolutely love that era. But this new intro is just fucking awesome, yet simple. Fun to play!

How do you get the tone of the bass I want to know if it has to do with what type of wood it has or if it’s based on amp settings and knob settings
Please cover Klone "Yonder" and "Nebulous" :)
Could you cover Glosoli of Sigur Ros, dear Leo?
I wanna make metal tone like you. which effector did you use?
3:58 did you mean 390Ms Delay ON? Also you never noted when to turn off the whammy (; not trying to nitpick, just trying to help. Much love to you mang.

What is your gear setup for that tone? It sounds great!
@LeoBassCovers2

Thank you! My whole rig is digital so the effects are all plug-ins. The actual tone comes from this software called Parallax which makes it sound amazing. I also had new strings when I recorded this so that helped too :)

I think he's using a 5th up harmonizing octave on the 9-11-0 bits

Hmm, that would mean that he has to quickly switch from a whammy setting to a harmony setting within maybe 2 seconds. Could be possible though

What do you use for a delay pedal?

It's a digital plug-in so I can't give a proper answer.. But I would recommend getting a delay pedal that has a display so you can be precise with the milliseconds

They had to change up the baseline because if they didn’t the original bass player that wrote the song or the baselines would get royalties, I just can’t believe my favorite band is playing us as fools to why they change the song up they did the same thing with sober, But Maynard Keenan is an Antifa member I mean he even wore the stuff on stage talking about how he wishes these riots would end so he could takeoff his battle gear
jesus you couldnt just wait till the song aged a little? people rushing to show they can cover music
