Since you have always been a champion of mental health , I sincerely request you to make one regarding the scope of MD Psychiatry. There are so many people who feel reluctant to take it. Please make one so that it becomes a bit easier for them.

Parents will understand too. A psychiatrist has the most understanding of human thinking and mind . It's not only a pg branch , it teaches u a better life

Sir, if you could please ask and address the “less hands on and exposure in surgical branches during pg in central institutes like aiims vs state” and “seeing only rare cases” and “cases referred to super specialities” arguements not favouring central institutes,it would be very reassuring for us to hear from residents themselves who also are aware of such general hearsay but chose aiims.I know of a senior who left aiims Delhi Ophthal and took psm in Gsmc and Kemh instead and I am pretty sure there are many who weren’t properly guided and took such decisions and have major life time regrets then 🙈

Hi, if a person has high myopia (-10) should he not choose ophthalmology or for that matter any surgical branch as a specialisation? You had mentioned conditions like high BP and diabetes but could high myopia also be a hindrance in surgical fields where hand- eye coordination is required?

  • @abhijeetbeniwal3311

Can go for it, and have regular checkups. High myopia indeed increases risks of retinal detachment and myopic traction maculopathy.

Hi I wanted to ask a question. Here in north, atleast in UP, the medical ophthalmology is mainly done by Optometrists. Also, the cataract surgeries happen very seasonally (only in winters). So considering this situation, what do you advice?
