I've lost count of all the bands, past and present, that I've found through this man.
Cannot wait for the next album!!!!!!
would love to see them on tour again, but they didnt want to come back to Grand Rapids, Michigan apparently.

In a country as big as the US, I think you have to spread out the 20-30 dates you do. It probably means hitting different cities to try and please the audience, when you only have a large handful of shows in a tour.
Sounds wonderful! :D
went to see them when they came to moncton :D awesome show
I remember that, although replacing ghosts guitarist with a crew member wouldnt be totally out of the question, couldn't do that with him as Opeth's frontman.
me too, he is like the ultimate encyclopedia of 60's 70's 80's bands.
I've only seen them once, and that was when they came to the intersection last time. And I would never go to Detroit to see a band unless it was a once in a lifetime event.
He said North America and just because of that i love Opeth more than before...
Just out of curiosity, does anyone know about Mikael Akerfeldt's education?
Even comparing Opeth to a "band" like Dillinger I feel offended. Obviously true musicanship doesn't need extreme presentation on stage, the music stands for itself and there is beauty in that. Poor guys who can't acknowledge that.
Thats not an Opeth Interview but an Mikael Akerfeldt Interview...
mine idol
oh yes, but this is very common to have on the internet, because those are amateur interviews and not really jornalistic ones, so they are not pre-planned for long, and the musicians are not invited to a interview, the interviewer just pop up and say, 'wow man, i got a channel on youtube, can i interview you?', and you don't expect to see the whole band walking around togheter like teletubbies you know? haha but i like those improvised interviews, this one for instance was very informing.
All I heard was '...Maybe a bit heavier...'. YUSS!
Not to mention modern bands like Katatonia, Porcupine Tree, Dark Tranquillity, etc.
honestly, he is more Opeth than any other band member
you can't compare Opeth to Dillinger.... Mikael is awesome.
they will be in detroit though :) i would go but i have seen them twice in the past couple years and just cant justify spending that kind of gas and ticket money again haha :c
When he cut open his head on their tour bus in '11, Opeth had to cancel their next show (when they were touring with Ghost and Mastodon). But Ghost and Mastodon still played while Mikael was in the hospital. So, no he doesn't. It's a good rumor though.
besides, most of the 'whole bands' interviews end up with only the leadman(s) talking, for example pick up early Pink Floyd interviews, you'll see only Syd Barret talking, or in the later ones Gilmour and Waters you know?
Opeth and Ghost have different tour dates, I don't how he could be in two places at ones playing shows
the leadman of the band...
How can this guy like Illud Divinum Insanus?
yeah haha exactly.
... right but he is not Opeth! Opeth may be nothing without him, but he is not Opeth ;P
He also writes everything for Opeth on a gross scale.
Bullshit. But i've been thinking about it as well..
