I love how Axe's feet are still doing the bass and hi-hat pedals.
I was there, sitting around maybe the fourth row and to the right, by Frederik. I cannot describe the depth of clarity from the total effect of the mix and instrumentation. I have never heard a "smoother" sound from any band live. It was time-shattering bliss. Enrapturing sound. And of course I went to the Palladium after that and moshed to Deliverance. It's all just Opeth.

Yes, that's beacause they ARE Opeth !!!
Proof that time travel exists. A flip-flop phone appears in 2013 ....
Yeah man, to see opeth in a small place with a few people, right there in your nose like something personal... I would kill to see them live like this,,, good for these lucky people who witnessed this.
Long time ago I read a comment in a opeth video and since that day i think what that person said is the best way to describe this band "Opeth shows in their music what the soul wants to scream, but it cannot"
From 5:20 on is some of the most beautiful music I've ever heard. Amazing.

Perfect, they are my favorite band
The ending to this song always gets me, powerful stuff
Opeth is the cure of my pains! one of the most beautiful songs they ever made!
I love how they're always in perfect shape when playing live. I looked at a lot of their live performances these days and every band member is always just playing flawlessly.
I think i will watch these videos soooooooooooooo many times

Come again
Haha....this is so easy for Axe that he's checking out the toys!
the spin they've tossed onto the end of this track is just class so good
Credence is one of my Opeth favs. I love it! Thanks for capturing this song and others during their visit.
Deserted again. You speak to me through the shadows. Walking in closed rooms, using cold words. Captured by the night. The yearning escapes from my embrace. Strange silhouettes whisper your thoughts, scream your sadness. And they all turned away, unable to face more of this death. Credence in my word. Written in dust, tainted by memories. I confess my hope, recognize my loneliness. Your laughter weeps the truth. Push me into corners. Confirming the epitaph of my soul And displaying the once unknown karma.
I miss old opeth... such more deep emotions in their songs, well it is just my opinion... but srsly, this song prove it.

This is great! Thanks for uploading this! I was probably only about a "row" or two behind you I think. Great show. :)
Damn that is freaking awesome. Would have been sweet to have been there
Having witnessed this gig on this video I am convinced that Opeth should definitely do an all acoustic unplugged live DVD, like Nirvana and AIC did :)
Wow ! nice audio and video quality... besides the obvious awesomeness opeth delivers :D
one of the best all time songwriters
So cool! I was there!!!
This is amazing. Wish they would play in a small setting like this near me.
thx for ul!
That piano outro is so beautiful
absolute musical geniuses
Oh my god! these people are soo lucky @_@
Awesome
I wish I could see them live...
i don't know you, but i love you for that playlist!!!!!!

Hahaha. Enjoy it! I wish I was knowledgeable about video and audio editing back then like I am now. I should revisit the raw footage.
The outtro, wow ....
Que exelente clasico de opeth de verdad me llegó
I wouldn't mind it if they went totally acoustic as long as its as morose and melancholic as Opeth can be :-)
This is just evidence to me that what makes Opeth so great is not so much the clean/harsh dynamic, but just that morose, sad, yet melodic quality that transcends their genre clashing. I didn't really hear a whole lot of it on Heritage, which is why I think so many people are saying that they "don't sound like Opeth." There's merit to that.
damn this is unreal, i wish they played at a comic book store near me.....
1:55 an old legend bottom right.
greatest band in the world right now.
This is so cool any band would do an event like this much less Opeth. Thank you.
this song...
I'm fascinated by the maniac in the hoodie in the lower right. At 2:25 he just gets up, appears to be in pain, and hunches over for most of the song.
The song can't end until Axe makes the quick Viking face.
They are so fine
Absolutely WOW ... I mean... WWOOAAARRHH... :)
Amazing! How many people were there? I wish I saw them that close and in a tiny spot
I really wish they would.
This is what I call lucky people! :)
You're absolutely right, though the addition fo the keyboard makes it sound like Porcupine Tree too. :P
Lol well I gave it my best shot. Glad there's a great band out there like them though. Sorry for the length, its exam week and I'm still stuck in writing mode hehe
Also, I can't think of a more standard (in opeth-terms) lick than the one that starts on 5:51
Its the best part of the song ;-)
no way, a record store
Wish i was there... they never visit Egypt tho..
It's hard to define their sound in words really..
Atmosphere in music, especially in heavy music, is something sorely missing. This song is one of the most evil and melancholic sounding tunes ever because of the atmosphere akerfeldt has harnessed with it. Songwriters need to make music that has atmosphere so thick you can’t help but get swept up in it.
fucking amazingly lucky actually
Was there... It was fucking killer
them lucky bastards! :D
Grandd opeth
- Mikael i love you! - I love you too son. :D
Mikael is such a gent..
That dude front left wearing beanie inside out
Nah, it's the extreme contrast between the distorted guitars and hellish vocals and the clean (acoustic) guitars and clean vocals what makes Opeth sound like Opeth. But ofc, each to his own..
Hahahaha, knew this would happen
Fredrick is the next Jerry Cantrell with those harmonies
the drums sound funny ..
So sick to see a band do this kind of gig
Flohwalzer!
0:32
Is there much of a market for metal in Egypt?
joakim looks like simon collins with beanie i think xD
