Ruben Buijs CURRENT Opeth is excellent too, FYI :] They don’t need to play death metal to be great.

People moaning about the production on this, a progressive death metal band that were basically unknown in 1996 making mostly longer than 10 minute songs. The fuck kind of production were you expecting?
That soft middle acoustic section nearly brought me to tears. Damn. 🤘🏻
It is just nice to watch another human being get amazed by this amazing composition.
A 20 minutes song my friends, i'm so glad im drunk= suscribed.
I've never clicked so fast on a notification (Edit later:) Glad you loved it. I have so many recommendations for Opeth that I don't even know where to start. They're so good that any song will do, honestly. If you want to see the soft side of Opeth, Face Of Melinda @ Sydney or Windowpane would be great.

TheAskald To Bid You Farewell!
Thanks for this video Ruben. We are with you as Opeth fans.
I miss ethereal, spooky Opeth.
And the reason why we all love reaction videos because in real world, we dont come across people who enjoy our favourite songs and seeing them loving what we love is wht is special abt these videos!
I think My Arms, Your Hearse is when Opeth really perfected their sound but this video made me appreciate this song a lot more
I Have heard so many Opeth's songs and found any bad ones. Truly magnificent band!
How abot Moonlapse Vertigo by Opeth? I love that song

This one is way too overlooked. It's one of the special ones for me. Flows so well from start to finish.

Most of Still Life tracks are overlooked. Godhead's Lament and Serenity Painted Death are close to be masterpieces tbh.

The whole album (Morningrise) is mindblowing. You should do Nectar from it. I find that one really spectacular. Cheers

I love Morningrise, its my 3rd favorite album behind ghost reveries and blackwater. I absolutely love how prevalent the bass is. Very underrated album.

Morningrise is a perfect album. Advent, The Night And The Silent Water, then Nectar. BRI could be an entire album in itself.
We need an Opeth day!
If your liked this check out The night and the silent water (it's from the same album as this, Morningrise) from The Roundhouse Tapes, and you are still missing their soft side you could check Face of melinda, fair judgment or windowpane.
Damn that was like 5 or 10 songs! 🍻🤘🏻🖖🏼 (bow down emoji)
This was the reaction I was waiting from forever. Happy afterall. I agree with everyone who says this is best by them.
This song is so fucking good, also you should check out the mars volta - cicatriz esp =)
clicked on link and clicked like before the video even began! Thank you reuben!
Sorry my English i'm chilean, but thanks Ruben, for let me feel the same that I felt when i listened to this for the first time, 20 years ago. Opeth have been with me all this time, it's like a part of my life. I feel happy to see you enjoying Opeth like I did it many years ago. thank you.
Definitely my favorite Opeth album.

Finally they are playing this live in their recent tours.💚
I learned guitar because of this song, I just really wanted to be able to play this.. specifically @14:43 the whole build up to one of my favorite riffs of all time @16:24 combined with the rhythm melody part, which is like completely different but fits. Amazing song!
@TheAskald
6 жыл бұрын
But the 14:43 riff is two guitars harmonized, so playing only one of the two parts doesn't sound as good :/
@jcrosato
6 жыл бұрын
Yeah, they've always have 2 guitarist though, so I'm not worried about that. :)
@TheAskald
6 жыл бұрын
Yep, but when you play it alone (you said you wanted to be able to play this) it sounds meh in comparison, that's what I meant
@jcrosato
6 жыл бұрын
Oh, but if you play with another person it sounds amazing. :) Or playing along with the track, or guitar pro even sounds dope
You should see them as soon as you can!
I can't stress how much I recommend Hessian Peel. It's their masterpiece along with Harlequin Forest. Can't wait to see your reaction to that one!
What about Edge of Sanity - Crimson I and Crimson II both with 43min long hahah. Worth every second of our ears =D
Dream Theater - The Count of Tuscany !!!
Earlier this year Opeth played with Gojira and Devin Townsend Project. I'm sure that show was so epic.

such an underrated song!
No Opeth this month? :O
children of bodom-kissing the shadows!
WOW! I did not expect you to like this song this much. It's weird because when I heard it I thought it was terrible, it is still probably one of my least favorite songs by Opeth. But, this is why we differ in opinions :D

Great song, best band.
You should totally totally totally react to Opeth - The Twilight is my Robe...its as fricking cool as this track... totally vintage Opeth ...♥️
This album, precisely "Nectar" song was my first listening to Opeth back then in '96 or '97 I dont'remember... Since then I became a great Opeth fan but I always felt the absence of THIS bass, De Farfalla in the first and this second album did an awesome job and I loved Opeth at first 'cause this sound... I guess this bass player was a great plus at them but maybe he wanted to be too much on the front line and I suppose Akerfeldt didn't agree to kept this kind of sound... Anyway I still love Opeth also if they are now a different band with a different sound, one of my favorite bands in metal. Bye Ruben !!
Their best song imo.
react opeth - dirge for november live
You do alot of Opeth, 1 react = 2 reacts. :) In this case 3. :)

Una.verdadera Opera!
The only way to close an epic.
Best Opeth song and great reaction. Now, if you want to hear the real deal when it comes to epic songs, I suggest you better brace yourself and react to the divine "Edge of Sanity - Crimson". I promise you, it doesn't get any better than that.
Opeth - Harvest if want a good mellow opeth track!!! :D

@TheAskald

You know a band is excellent when everybody suggests a different song. The Moor is a masterpiece btw
It's too bad they never want to play this in concert.
HAKEN
I really like this song, but i just have an issue with the production quality of it haha like the drums and the guitar sounding maybe it's just me, but I think if this song got an remaster that would enhance the quality. That is not said for the acoustics, the acoustics on the song is top notch anyway, that's just my opinion - Prog is aweosme!
Now do some BTBAM, Dream Theater and Haken.
Can't watch this reaction. Not available.
Blackwater Park - Opeth the best song
please watch 'windowpane' and 'Masters Apprentices' at Shepard bush LIVE(LAMENTATIONS) -- no other LIVE PErformance plzz.....THats because this WAS THE ORIGINAL LINE-UP OF OPETH WHO HAVE MADE THESE epic SONGS.....
nice music playing but the voice ruins everything... I think that it's a constant in every death metal group, with all the respect
Check out Cynic - How Could I
