They're donors of weapons and thus have the rights to do so for fear of being dragged into a war that is not theirs. As much as we'd like to see these restrictions lifted, it's unwise and undiplomatic to act entitled. Most neutral people's answers would just be: If you don't like the restrictions, use your own domestic weapons. And if you can't produce them, you should really question why you're still fighting on while begging for foreign aid.

Operator Starsky is one of my favorite voices , and a Hero of Ukraine. Operator Starsky has a good sense of humor that needs no translation. He is combination of wit, irony, sarcasm, and fact. A very intelligent man, he understands the war. Operator Starsky was involved in the Battle for the Hostomel Airport, which was a turning point in the early days of the War. The Russian plan was to build an air bridgehead from the Hostomel Airport into the suburbs of Kyiv, and then surround and capture the capital. In the face of overwhelming forces, Operator Starsky’s unit prevented Russia from establishing the air bridgehead by destroying the runway, and eventually repelling Russian forces. Another great episode, Jonathan. Thank you 🙏🏼

and it's THAT most severely autocratic security state in history, the GDR/ddr, that Putin was last stationed in when the USSR folded. Severely rigid ppl ran the most brittle systems ever devised during modernity, in GDR and USSR and some other eastern states. Putin is profoundly mentally inflexible re all matters and wants what is a comfortable (for him) totalistic autocratic dictatorship, bcuz his is a purely extractive kleptocratic state. It's simple in that sense. The financing is complex, with the gvt allowing a system of money-laundering so that the elite can live ultra comfortably wherever they go, now with some restrictions not letting them travel freedly to western nations. There is only one solution, and that is containing russia. Literally there are no other solutions.

  • @Mariupol_is_Ukraine

„This is how democracy is built“ Thanks Starsky for reminding the viewers, how the western democracies came to life. They where fought for by the people. A lot of dedication was shown, and a lot of blood was shed to make people live in democratic societies. It was a process towards stable and active civil societies. The latest example is Ukraine. And those who never went through such transformations from autocracy to democracy, now sit in russia, and dont understand why to value life and other peoples opinion, why to go to work, and not steal from the ground, or from those who are weaker then you. Why to create and contribute to your community, and not take what you can, and leave nothing for others. Ukraine will join the EU and NATO, because the society’s actions and decisions are a blueprint of a nations path to an open, modern society. And all those things are a mystery to russians. They not only want to forbid Ukrainians to do that. They don’t understand any of it.

The fortifications likely worked perfectly. Pretending to be weaker at certain places, and also delibretly being weaker there is a common military tactic to get the enemy to attack precisely where you want them to attack. I suspected this from the beggining, but I suspect it even more now because Russia has suffered horrible casulaties and have had only very moderate succeses. The other I suspected this from the beggining is that there was a little bit too much theatre from the Ukrainians on this issue. Generally, if you have a problem you try and solve the problem. You don't broadcast it to the public.

Individuals that they believe will solve their personal problems. In a way, such voters don’t want to be accountable for solving real complexities and dealing with real world tradeoffs. Is it just a deus ex machina solution that’s being sought?

It DOES help if we ask our Senators and Representative to urge Biden to let Ukraine use US 'supplies' across the border. The real reason that US aid finally passed is because votes plus promised votes to use a Discharge Petition to force a vote were sufficient. Only then did Johnson change his mind.

The weapons our USA is sending to Ukraine are in the process of being replaced with far more advanced weapons which our own military will use. Many of them would have been recertified or destroyed.

Putin purges show that, like Hitler in April 1945, he fired shoigu to takeover the war. But Kharkiv kicked his ass. He needs scapegoats now. Hitler knew he was losing yelling " Steiner! Why is Steiner not attacking. Putin is yelling, Shoigu! Popov! Why am I losing? Maneh Tekkel Phares

Very good discussion as always. As a 76 year old American living in Kherson throughout the war, I try to follow things closely. I am in communication with my Republican Congressman, Chris Smith, from the 4th Congressional District in New Jersey, who has a perfect record of support for Ukraine. And Speaker, Mike Johnson, has come around to a practical national security (for the US) point of view. I am 100% sure that America will come through, otherwise I would not still be here. The problem is, of course, that we Americans take SOOO long to get our act together. But my goal is still to ride out of Kherson on an American M1 Abrams tank.

Russian influencers and Vloggers are all over the place on social media. How can people not see that? What do governments do?!? What do secret services do? Nothing? Just passively looking and enjoying the Russian show?

As a politically conservative, but not a neocon, American here, I remain a staunch supporter of Ukraine's valiant defense of its territorial and political sovereignty against Russian aggression. I'm frustrated with my country's sometimes ambiguous strategic support of Ukraine's war effort. I'm sure my frustration is only a microcosm of what must be felt in Kiiv! It must be extremely difficult for Mr. Zelinsky's government to understand the arcane intricacies of the political struggle being waged between the two almost evenly divided partisan camps in the US Congress that are only peripherally related to military aid for Ukraine. It is definitely not related to an ambivalence about Ukraine's situation, or Israel's for that matter. The crux of the issue is that the slim Democrat majority in the Senate has been cynically tying aid to Ukraine and Israel to bills that are otherwise deeply tied to the issue of mass illegal immigration into the United States which is particularly odious to the Republicans. It's very frustrating to us conservatives that the Democrats are playing partisan politics by using Ukraine's survival as a bargaining chip! The aid is finally on its way, but the Ukrainian defense forces have had to pay for past delays from the US and other European governments with lives and tactical setbacks on the battlefield. It is clear, as your very articulate Ukrainian guest, Mr. Starsky, has pointed out, that the strategic success of Ukraine in this war is crucial to the defense of the entirety of Eastern Europe. Putin and Zhi must learn from a Russian defeat in Ukraine that the Western Allies will not tolerate Russia's or China's military invasions of their neighbors.

I hope the people of America contact their representatives in Congress and the Senate, asking (demanding) that this suicidal injunction (to not use western weapons in Russian territory) be reversed. How can America (without shame) say "we will do whatever it takes" when they are refusing to allow Ukraine to do what it does take, to win this war?
