Operation old school training
I was training with direct sunlight and a few other old equipment which worked well.
I did not have hexe blocks. I used twigs in the Hexi cooker and the BCB cup which fits perfect. Great twig stove.

The magnifying glass was only for practice and I could only get a smoulder.
Given the time to do these little practice skills are really useful. I may have not conquered these skills but it was good to try them out.

There are so many edibke plants that people are unaware of (myself included) I haven't used a magnifying glass to start a fire since I was a kid definitely something I have to soon. Very relaxing video to watch as I enjoy my coffee in my living room in Gander Newfoundland Canada

I agree we need to train more and learn more. Canada is vast so getting out and about one needs to know a certain amount of Bushcraft survival skills. Thanks for your comment and let me know how you get on with the magnifying glass.
