Are you going to do anything with the AGA e-Go Congress this year? If so, it would be cool to see your games.

Thanks for that game. For me it is so hard to keep my temper with these opponents and once I lost it their play style sort of infects me. To me their moves feel so incredibly arrogant: Yeah I'm gonna keep giving you all this influence and I'll make sure it is useless later on.

I'm actually stepping away from go for a couple weeks to try to fix how angry I get about this. It feels like this is the only type of player in 3k-1k on fox and tygem.

@Ron Maimon I agree it's not logical to get angry. It's just a habit I've formed.

@Ron Maimon Yes if you manage to kill it feels great. But if you fail it feels pretty humiliating

You may need to refresh after 5 min. Also when I play on OGS I create a custom game for +/- 2 ranks and take about 5 minutes. BUT 1d OGS is actually really strong right now due to rank update

dwyrin they haven’t gotten weaker but rather stronger. I was trying to keep 2D but the change pushed me to 1k. The dans on there now are mostly people who don’t play much. But still there and ransoms at every level from rated 9x9

Had an opportunity to make your opponent play ko for life in the upper left corner in the end there if you wanted to be greedy too.

Yeah. There was a flaw in the ToS that allowed the lawsuit. I doubt its a big deal and its unlikely the platform is going to go bankrupt from the trolls going after them.

Down by 100 points but he plays all endgame. I applaud your patience but total disrespect towards you.

I don't see it as disrespect at all. To some people Go is about finding your best move at all times, so winning or losing isn't all that relevant, and ending a game earlier also prevents you from getting some endgame experience as well. Granted, you can't assume your opponent has the same "attitude" towards the game, but that's what the chat function is all about, and even with a language barrier he could have started passing his turn in the middle of the game to show that there was no interest in going forward with it. In the internet where you are playing anyone randomly I think it's bad to expect people to act just the way you want because it will frequently lead to frustration. If it was a tournament, competition or just a rule that was already agreed upon beforehand then yeah I would agree it would be very rude, but otherwise I tend to take a deep breath and decide if I want to go to the end of the game, talk it over or even resign so I can play another person. But that's just the way I see it though.

Playing endgame is fine. Escaping or letting X minutes of main time + all byoyomi run out to lose on time is much worse.

I've heard that Chinese players tend to play out much longer than Korean players. It's just a different cultural norm. And as someone else said, if you never play endgame how do you know you won't make a mistake when it matters?

Banking on your enemy making a 100 point mistake in the end game when you are clearly in a really losing position is kind of saying that you think your opponent is a drooling moron, so fairly disrespectful yeah. It's fine to play it out if the game is still even enough for a comeback, but keep your expectations realistic so the both of you can move on.
