Your thoughts and feelings about the doctors and nurses hit home with me . I spent three and a half years in our local children's hospital when my son Tyler was fighting cancer . It was because of him and the wonderful nurses he had that I became a nurse after he passed away . I got to train on the unit he was on with the nurses we came to love . I can only hope I can help others the way they helped my son and I hope I make him proud every day . Sending you love ❤️

my mother was a cna for years. she would come home and tell me about the loved ones she took care of that slipped away to heaven. she would sob. it was such a hard thing to watch my mom go through. i took care of her in the end. cancer took her away. i cared for her till her last breath. watching the ones you love slip away to god is an emotional journey. god bless you and your family.

I totally agree with you that watching a loved one take their last breath is extremely emotional. I just went through this two weeks ago. The thing that he took with him is that he knew that we all were there. We took care of him at home (his wish) so we felt good about that. He was the father of my two sons and my ex husband. (We were marred for 23 years but remained friends). I was a nurse, so I took care of him a lot. His sister and brother in law came up from Florida to help. That was a blessing. ❤️

If I was told by someone I had to be outside 10 minutes, I would beg for an hour. I remember spending most of my summers outside everyday in the woods it was freeing and absolutely necessary. So I like the idea, I think more kids need to be outside

Working at a children’s hospital is a calling I believe. It’s such an honor to help children and their families. As Granger said, being a light in the darkest moment of life is truly an honor. I’ve never met grouchy people at a children’s hospital. God bless all medical staff, police, fire. Those are not jobs, you are called to do these profession. It’s amazing to know that children are loved there no matter what the circumstances are! Miracles happen in those hospitals. God bless you all. We love you family and music! Yee yee 😎

That 10 min challenge is a cool idea. Like a stop and smell the roses moment. Lol esp since when we were kids, our parents would usually tell us to go play outside and we'd pretty much only come back in for meals and to go to bed at night. There is a specialness in stillness, and just observing what one might otherwise have missed, of God's creations. Caring doctors and nurses, orderlies and aides are Earth angels.

My mom, grandmother, aunt and niece were all nurses and one uncle was a pediatrician. Selfless in caring and determined in treating they were/are the best examples of human beings. They enlightened and inspired me to serve similarly, and I became a Sp Ed teacher for medically fragile, severely and profoundly developmentally disabled students and adults. Your appreciation to the first responders and medical professionals who walked with you through this accident and loss is commendable. Thank you for sharing your love and your story. It is likely healing to you and most certainly is to them.

I have lost two sons. My firstborn when he was eighteen and my youngest, and fourth son, in september last year. He was thirty years old. I have the same experience as you. The doctors and nurses where so wonderfully patient and respectful, to him and us. In the same moment that my youngest sons heart stopped, I saw that there were so many people in the room. They all wore white dresses. After a minute half of them disappeared. I now believe that there were Angels in the room. I felt , as I was holding his hand, that he already had left us. Oh Lord, I miss them so, so much.

I worked for over 22 years as an X-Ray and CT scan technologist. There are patients i will never forget, but the ones that really stick in my mind were the children. It takes a special kind of person to work in a children's hospital and be able to be good with their patients and families and still go home and have a life. God bless each one that dedicates their lives to caring for sick and dying children.

My wife is a nurse and there have been days when she would come home and just cry after a bad day at work. She works hard and is a very compassionate person and loves helping people. After spending several years as a first responder/firefighter myself I know how hard it is to deal with situations that involve kids. Nothing will bring you to tears like having a kid in your care. I'm so sorry for your loss and pray for your family. To all the people in the medical field be it in a hospital or on the front line I would just like to say thank you for what you do each and every day. My injuries revealed a hidden genetic disorder that contributed to my injuries. (It’s a connective tissue disorder). I loved every patient and their families. Each taught me something. It’s give and take. They taught me check myself, they taught me when to smile and cry. To love even the difficult children or families. It’s takes a special person to do the things all caregivers do. My sister is an ER nurse in a small town in Ohio. My son had a seizure and went into cardiac arrest and my sister had to care for him. He did not make it. She had the other staff that took over most of the duties but she was doing all she could do. I’ve had people say my wife and I are strong for what we’ve been thru and being able to live our lives after that. My sister has strength beyond comprehension. I know we do only Thru our faith in Jesus and the promises of seeing our loved ones again.

This episode hit me hard. I’ve been watching your family for a long while. I lost my oldest brother almost 4 years ago. He was an extremely caring human and dedicated his life to law enforcement as a police chief. It sounds like Dell’s Hospital had the same kind of compassion and humanity for your Riv like my brother’s hospital, Albany Medical Center in upstate, NY. He fought like hell for 3 months on a ventilator after many complications due to a botched surgery. But in the end, god wanted him more. He left behind 5 of his kids and 5 siblings….who will forever carry that scar of being without him. I appreciate your family for being so vulnerable and not hiding your feelings and grief, it has most certainly helped me along the way. I hope and pray for the absolute best for the continued healing of your family. I miss my brother so much…

First, let me say I’ve never used a gas or diesel can, but if I need one, I’d absolutely buy that one! I think it’s SUCH a great idea to get the kids out in nature, or just away from the digital world. 10 minutes is such a short time but I think it’ll make a big difference in the long run and have a positive effect. Gosh, I had the chills and a pit in my stomach watching you two talk to Dell Children’s. My gosh. I truly don’t know how you all do it. I used to work at Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh in the PICU as a secretary. Nurses and doctors are living heroes and angels on earth. I could never ever do that job. And you are so fortunate to have had, and be able to speak about, a positive experience during the worst experience of your lives. To this day, my heart breaks for you all knowing your story and what you have gone through. You are so, so strong. I love the way you two look at each other. Amber lovingly looking at Granger on the Ranger (that rhymes!) and Granger wanting Amber to sit with him in the barn at the end. I love your love for each other. Cannot wait to see what you all have coming up! And can’t wait to see more “building our dream farmhouse” on Granger’s channel. YEE YEE.

She passed away in my arms after she was born. The delivery staff treated us very well . My wife's main doctor was less desirable. Thank the Lord he was not there for the birth of my daughter. When my son was born I was not able to be there. I was in the middle of a 6 month deployment to the Gulf in the Navy. I was able to make a perfectly timed call to my mother-in-law. That’s when you know you have a great hospital & staff all around with the nurses and Drs taking care of you and your child or children as if they were truly family & that’s the greatest blessing that comes out of having a person in the hospital!!! 💔💙💜💗💯🙏🏻😇🤯🎉👣👣👣🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸

We joined you last week. Losses of a child is a hard thing to go through. We lost a daughter our first child I was 16 years old. It was so hard. But I believe she is with our father. The fact that we have faith in the promise made by God and jesus giving us the ability to be forgiven for our sins. Makes things better for moving on knowing that you're not forgotten and have ever lasting peace. That gets me through. Thank you all for sharing on this platform. Love you all xoxo 😘😘😘😘😘😘😇❤❤❤❤❤🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏

Bless all those that helped you at the hospital..they sound like an amazing wonderful group of professionals. Granger I love the fact you gave each of the children a 10 minute..out door connection...I have always loved the quite..the sun..the clouds..the birds..the fish swimming.. my dogs and cats...playing or sleeping...it's always been my rejuvenation...so wonderful to see you instill this in London and Lincoln .. And bless both of you..for sharing your life with all of us...it's wonderful to be included...in the YeeYee Farm...and the Smiths life...Thank You...

It’s late here but had to watch your video and tell you WELL DONE 👍 👍👍. My gramps would walk me and my siblings into the woods each time a little further though he put no time to how long we stayed. We had to think and observe and then share what we heard and saw and from me he wanted a picture drawn. A budding artist he framed his workshop with my visions. Much later in life and before he passed he said it was the hardest thing just to walk away. Always ended with the biggest bear hugs and even tears. But it was the excitement and OUR stories he lived for. I never thought that it affected him so much cuz thought it was a test and i didn’t want to fail him. But he had binoculars and watched us carefully as we’d come up the trail but never told us until the end. Great experience Granger for the kids just preparing them for life. All the technology really has destroyed so many ..... young and old to really listen and enjoy what God has blessed us with. Our nephew is head of ER of largest hospital in the area right now and he for years was a firefighter and an EMT. His compassion grew when he lost his wife and newborn son struggling to put out a fire from a gas explosion. He was desperate when realized it was his home and neighborhood. All these years later with finally a new family he still gets a lump in his throat and tears fall as he tries to save another fire victim. He stays for many hours with those families never telling his own story and returns home and just sits and watches as his family sleeps checking to see that they are breathing. Proud of his courage and not sharing the tragedy of the day but he believes it’s always an honor to try and save one more and being there with each family......just being there until the last one leaves. Like he says the pain of that horrible night ALWAYS flashes pictures as a reminder that life can end so quickly but what you do to help at that moment is never forgotten. And he always sends each one of the staff that tried so hard to save his family a Xmas card and a simple thank you 🙏. So I wish to say thank you to that hospital that tended to River and to you for bravely telling your story many times over. You never know who may need to hear it and how much more you’ve served God since that time still wondering the purpose but still loving HIM. Am looking forward to who you will meet on your so called tour and your and trip. Your album BETTER win awards this year cuz its definitely the best and from the heart. There’s not a song I don’t enjoy. Thank you for the incredible video and putting it all on the table for the many people who have troubles like you’ve gone through. Let healing begin for everyone. 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏❤️❤️❤️❤️

What a beautiful family y’all are! I couldn’t help crying watching you both talking about how much the staff at the hospital means to your family. The faith y’all have is so inspirational to all of us! If it wasn’t for your faith you wouldn’t be able to put one foot in front of the other. God has given you so much strength to carry on! I will continue to lift you and family up to the Lord in prayer!

I pray to god every day. My grandson died in my arms at 3 days old but I was able to bring him back with CPR. He is now 13 years old and has me wrapped around his little finger. I have 16 grandkids but they all know he has a special place I. My heart. I don’t think I would have been as strong as you two if I had lost him. Thank you for sharing such a sad part of you4 life with us. God bless you and your family.

Even on the other side of the world, we do the same. I speak to my patients, even when they’ve passed. I’ve cried (numerous times), but the joy you get in your heart knowing that you helped the patient and their family in such a difficult time. You learn to move on, but you never forget. You become part of a strangers life, and gain a deep connection to help with the families journey.

I’m so sorry that you have to relive your story so many times, to let others know that these Healthcare Workers are the Best of the Best when it comes to caring for Our Loved Ones. I experienced the level of Compassion that these Healthcare workers have when I was with my friend’s daughter in the Pediatric Cancer Ward for over a year. Your words spoke the truth when you said they were the light in your darkest moment. It’s so true. God Bless you and all of our Empathetic and Compassionate Healthcare Worker’s. ❤️🎈🦋🙏🏻
