Opening the Blue Pullman by Bachmann
Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары
Finally! At long last, the Blue Pullman (Midland Pullman set) is here! Easily the most impressive 'OO' gauge train I've ever looked at. Sure, it's not cheap, but this train has it all - stunning performance, exquisite detail and more lights than a Las Vegas hotel. Use the contents slide at the start of the video to watch the different parts of the video as you see fit. But otherwise, please do enjoy this feature-length presentation.

I worked at Watford Junction first as a railwayman and then as a Guard into Broad street and I used to love when the Manchester Pullman pulled in and the liveried waiters stood at the doors of the carriages (cars) and that wonderful smell of bacon and eggs, kippers and fresh made coffee wafted over the platforms, now if Bachman can install that feature in DCC I'll be impressed ;D

I lived at Luton ( God Help Me ) and remember these Pullmans' whooshing along the embankment past Leagrave Station in the early 60s'

robin redbrest For me it was the impression of an era gone by, it came to an end when people coplained that it cost more than first class, which even today seems ridiculous as the service was much much better than first class ,and now? it really is an era gone by sadly.

Dave Wright Yeh, I lived at Sundon Park. 21 Hill rise, on the corner of Pennine Ave. Left in the 66 though. Went to Plymouth home of the Diesel Hydraulics, Class 42's and 52's and the Hymecs. All or some of which lived in the Laira Sheds.
One of the beautifulst train I have seen. Congrats.
I love the sound when the wheels go over the gaps in the track

Oooh look at that. With the lights on, you can even see the extra detailing on the seats! I think I can even see red carpets inside. What a gorgeous train, it looks like it really is a £300 model! Shame not all of us will be able to get any but good on you for getting one for your fans to drool over
It sure is nice to see you get so excited over this. I got the same way when I got my Walthers Santa Fe Hi-Level chair cars. GREAT video.
Looks great with all the lights on and all lite up, you aren’t normally stuck for words Wil ...

BEST TRAIN AND BEST REVIEW EVER!!!!!!!!!! Well done. Well done. :-)
Will, a fantastic review of what can only be described as THE best train their is. It could only receive the perfect 10/10 score, Table lights,Inside roof lighting, and directional lighting. A pure pleasure to watch as you went through it with a fine toothcomb searching for a fault and knowing you wouldn't find one. The best part 43:10 when it finally started rolling, and then @44:06 hearing that clickity click wonderfull. Daz
I just Brought this myself and now I must save for the twin howes sound chips as the youtube of that leaves me speechless too as you say one of the best trains going thanks for shareing

Liked & faved! Excellent review on this unbelievable train! Runs so smooth, and all those lights make it, to be honest like no other train Bachmann has done!
I shall definitely check them out John, definitely!
Some how it didn't suprise me that your house is wired for remote control. You are so cute when you get excited. I love to watch that. in fact I have watched this several times just for the fun. Nice train set!
nice light app, and the Blue Pullman by Bachmann is just....... Incredible!
definitely cannot wait to add sound, you're quite right there!

I have one of these I'm so happy!
You sir, own a God of trains!
This is just all so cool
You've done a great a job with your videos
Really enjoyed the review watched every minute ! An expensive set but when broken down into each unit and considering the detail and functions..Good value I think !..
On USA trains, everyone went from where they were sitting to the dining car to eat. On the Blue Pullman, meals were brought from the kitchen car to wherever you were sitting. Notice that the seating is two facing two or one facing one over a table.
My first sighting of the midland pullman was in the early sixties I was standing on the up platform at Wellingboro awaiting for a London train when a unit came through on the up line for St Pancras beautifull, even though with the 60 mph speed limit at that time due to station being on a curve it was super, especially with still seeing the odd steam loco or green peaks and maroon coachng stock it just brought some colour and uniformaty. The midland pullmans sets were transferred to the western region when the Wcml took delivery of the a/c mark 2 pullmans. As you probably know the western region ran 8 car sets which were both 1st and 2nd class, whereas the midland 6 csr sets were all 1st class.
Hehe, I do get a little carried away sometimes - but thank you so much for the kind feedback!
i really want one and i will get one soon but this video has made me want one even more now.
WELL DONE BACHMANN!!!!
I know that you shot this video a while ago Will but having only relatively come back to railway modelling then this is new to me. Anyway, I have done a search for all things Blue Pullman on KZread as my wife has just bought what I think must be one of the last remaining sets in the UK for me as a Christmas present (which I'm not allowed to have until Christmas Day!!). A fantastic review and like you, I cannot wait for the time I can open the box and get to see all that detail !!
Fantastic, I have all the Farish variants in N but am contemplating getting the collectors edition in OO. My favorite train and model.
Thank you!
Now I want one of these sets.
I'll check it out tomorrow
thanks for the excellent comment!
haha thanks for the comment, glad you liked it!
thank you!
definitely!
oh wow! Thanks for the comment!
My God Will, you're reactions are just awesome throughout the video! XD
Yup! Coming up in the current Series 4
By far the best train/loco I've seen, it looks superb & awesome with the lights on. Easiest improvement would be the spin fans, that would be amazing, the sipping wine passengers thing would just be silly super cool awesome hehe. I definite wanna get this when I have a semi permanant layout, next semester my workload is halved, so gonna get some 4x1 baseboards built. My favourite DMU seen (look wise) was the 101 but this easily wins. Bachmann need a congratulatory pat on the back for this one :)
haha awwww thanks for commenting matey! Hope she is OK again now
This Blue Pullman is spectacular..... I wish I could own one.
wow that is impressive!
thank you for the comment. It's a shame not everyone will have one but I promise to let people come round and watch it on the new layout lol
Epic Will. I can imagine you driving home stroking the box and drooling like Homer Simpson!!!. Just checked my old pics and found a pic I took of the similar South Wales Pullman in grey livery. All the best.
This is how all models should be built like!
you're right! Very good for the price really
That's one amazing train. I'm blown away! I think I might have let out a little pee when the lights came on ;) Great video, as always though Will, so well done!
agreed and thanks for the comment!
It was worth it, such a nice train.
lol thanks for the comment Phil! I still need to pop down and see you sometime!
Indeedy mate, looool :-D Finally got mine now as you know. Thing is now, it's now making want to get interior lighting in the rest of my coaching fleet. Just looks so stunning running round the layout lit up in the dark :-) Kind regards mate.
thanks for the comment! Yeah I've got more American stuff coming up in the current Series 4.
The handrails on top of the loco are called lift rings to lift the panels of with a crane for maintenance
I so want that model!!!
I think you're right yeah, good value really when you look at what you get
Enjoyed seeing this, reminded me of the Triang one many years ago ;-) thanks. I guess though that Bachmann intend this to be coupled up on the track at desk top height to avoid the risk of carrying three cars coupled together. Thanks for creating!
I have the 0-4-0 locmotive that used to shunt these babies around! Review now uploaded!
thanks you!
Great video Will, it's a spectacular model in every way, it's beautiful. I'm looking forward to the N gauge release even though it's missing the interior lighting which really does make the model shine ;) I've already got plans for a new larger layout to accommodate it, it's a model that inspires you to create something new and better. Top work Bachmann/Farish :)
What a fantastic model. I wish bachmann could do this more often! Im sure theres a carriage from the real thing at the NRM in York?..... so theres a bit of it been preserved!
Indeed!
Yes, me too!
The lamps were not actually on the table, but they were reasonably close. They were originaly hooked onto the window just over the table. But the way the dining table was laid out on a Blue Pullman, they never had table lamps.
hehe thank you for commenting!
Ace is the only to describe this angle!
wow I gonna get this soon
Great video and stunning model, if you bow on the fan it should spin, Cheers Harry
you can get a full yellow ended one too, yes.
thanks for the comment Jaike!
Intercity82 got to say she is a lovely dmu I have got mine fitted with dcc sound by olivias trains keep up the gud work
the most impressive thing more for me is that Bachmann's standard response when people went on how they should make this was "ok we'll make it, but its going to cost £500 minimum", and they've done it for WELL under that.
This is absolutely fantastic, Bachmann has done a BL**DY Fabulous Job its just so exquisite :D
Money well spent Will, Nice one. Should be getting mine next week :-)
I'm in love
Hey Intercity82, lovely train and saw how excited you were about it. I watched another video on KZread and reckon you might enjoy it as the guy seems to know all about trains and especially this model from the 60s when it started with Triang through Hornby till Bachmann. it is chambs123 is his you tube name so if your interested ,he has 3 or 4 differ4ent trains of the blue Pullman class in the livery of their times
