I don't think Steve Buscemi gets enough credit as Mr Nebbercracker. His voice acting and mannerisms are just so great. And the parts where he talks about Constance are just perfectly acted. Imo its Steve's best performance in any movie

If he doesn’t do anything, then Constance will more than likely eat anyone who steps foot on the lawn. Hope that clears it up👍😀

It's not that bad

When he said to that girl "do you want to be eaten alive", he was telling her if she didn't get out of there, the house was literally going to eat her alive

We learn later on in the movie that Nebbercracker is actually trying to protect the children from the house. It's like when he said "DO YOU WANT TO BE EATEN ALIVE!?" he meant the house was literally going to eat her alive if she didn't run away.
