I COMPLETELY forgot to say that assists count as kills for opening gambit, which means you just need an assist OR kill every 15 seconds for it to work!!

Opening gambit is pretty op with some weapons but in general last ditch effort is a little bit more useful

@@ShadamAran If it gives you an assist yeah. That's why they're talking about Nova because Nova uses a lot of point sensors!

You forgot to mention a huge detail that even comp players are looking at. Because the timer extends on assists, weapons with point sensor are able to easily farm assists with a coordinated team, and keep the ability up for the entire game without having to risk too much. I think Nautilus especially would like this, since that weapon basically only ran run speed, swim speed, and ink res before anyway, so now it can run other abilities like potentially QR. And it has both point sensors and ink storm to farm assists with.

Orrrrrr you could run Splattershot Nova and be assumed almost harmless until the enemy has to actually try and hit you! Everything in it's kit gets you Assists!

Im really glad that OG got a buff so that not all the time do i have to run LDE for weapons im trying to get a hang of like blasters and Nzap , thanks for the clarification Droid!

I been using it on the 52. In the splatfest event I felt like it never went away. It worked out well for me and I saw a massive improvement. I can see tower control working really well for any blaster

Yesss I just dropped a couple 40+ games with this!

Ok I know it's probably not the best weapon but when i use the Nova with opening gambit it goes crazy with movement, the intensify action is nice and the sensor + killer wail assists keep it active for a long time

Makes sense, that jump RNG is so annoying on that weapon!

I tried OG once when using clash blaster neo during the Splatfest in tricolor, it helped REALLY well! A lot more than it did before the buffs, and it made using the weapon more fun!

I know this is probably a terrible idea, but I'm going to try opening gambit on my hydra kit. I play a rather aggressive hydra and having the run/swim speed plus the ink resistance and intensify action is a rather tempting thing to try lol

If I may make a suggestion: The single-word subtitles you're displaying distract a bit from the core content of your video (for me, anyway), especially because of their large font size. Maybe consider just adding CCs for people who need subtitles? You're doing a pretty good job getting your points across, so I don't think you need them. 😄 Anyway, thanks a lot for the breakdown, I would've completely glossed over the IA you get with this ability now 🫠 Definitely makes it a lot more appealing!

It could work, if you play aggressive and go for kills! It could definitely benefit from the intensify action!

Only thing I think it might not be good with is QR weapons, other than that it seems really powerful rn.

@@SplatDroid I think QR itself is useful, but the type of play style that works well QR might get you killed to much, and then you'll lose the OG ability. At least that'd my take on, but I don't use QR so idk.

@@heyitsme__ I end up getting a lot of kills, then trades from being super aggressive, so sometimes the QR comes into play. Not always though so it might not be the best Strat lol

@@heyitsme__ i feel likie it goes hand in hand. u use qr to be aggressive, if u can effectively get kills or assists you can keep it up. but you are also right, i think opening gambit is a little more risky now, and not just completely garbage, so ig if ur willing to take that risk, use it since it has great benefits and has a better effect than comeback

does opening gambit just go away if you dont get kills then? or does it come back if you get a kill *after* the 30 seconds?
