Congratulations! I was really disappointed in my grades because they were a lot lower then I had ever gotten in any test. I also lost my firm choice uni which was so upsetting because if we had of done the exams I know I would have gotten the grades

Thank you! That must be so gutting, a lot of my friends are in the same position as you, it is really unfair. I hope we follow Scotland in the next week and the UK government make another U-turn, otherwise this will be the biggest scandal of our generation. Peter Adams wasn’t my fault it was the grading system that put my grades down because of the area I live in. I worked extremely hard for exams that I never had

Peter Adams well how can I blame myself when the grades were given to me by a computer and had ZERO to do with my actual work? None of our work over the last 2 years was taking into account NONE of it. I’m not going to argue because you clearly don’t understand the national problem over the way grades were calculated but do your research before you start blaming people because I know a lot of other people having just received their grades would be very upset that someone was blaming them. Students have been through enough stress, comments like that are unnecessary

Aw thank you girl!! Not really for English, I wish someone told me to drop it 😂 but for history, write out every key event or key law that was passed (if relevant to the module) on a timeline or on flash cards, then under write how significant it was. A lot of the history exam questions are about significance or how great a change was or what happened as a result of something else, so if you get into the practice of ordering events or key people or laws in your head by which one had a bigger impact, it will be second nature by the exam xx

I got messed up by the system as well! I got downgraded both my A* to an A (vid on my channel) which meant I almost missed out on going to Cambridge!! Honestly thank god that they have now changed the way grades are assessed. So hopefully all you guys get the grades you need! But by far its been the most unfair situation I've gone through so far. Subbed for the journey ahead :)

Thank you! That’s so rubbish you’ve had to teach yourself your a levels for the past few months, I hope year 13 goes smoothly for you. Just remember the stress is temporary like before you know it, it will all be over and you won’t see the same people everyday and you’ll never be in school again. Work hard but don’t let it consume you entirely. Also start looking at unis early! xx

aw thank you Lilly! good luck for September, I hope you have a great time! glad you enjoyed the videos. Nottingham is lovely, hence why it is my firm. Yeah the city used to have a reputation, associated with crime, but in the past few years it seems to have got a lot safer according to stats. I come from a large town that has one of the highest crime rates and I spend a lot of time in London so I probably am not the best to answer as I found Notts not scary at all. I went into Notts city centre last summer in the evening and it felt so safe and there is so much to do. This was during the Sutton Trust summer school, which I would totally recommend giving a google and if you meet the criteria then apply for it as it is the main reason I applied. It gives you an entire (free!!) week to experience living in halls, lectures and the city itself along with loads of 16/17 year olds across the country. It made me realise how beautiful the campus is and how friendly the lecturers are. I completely understand where you're coming from, I did not have a clue about unis this time last year either! I promise on my channel I will speak honestly about my uni experience so it can give you some indication of what it is like. That is so sweet of you to say, thank you! It was so stressful. Our college website was meant to update with them at 0800, but didn't work until 0915. I couldn't get into Track until 0920 either. A lot of our teachers have complained about how grades have been downgraded quite a lot, so they are considering a college-wide appeal. The grades that I got (AAAB) were high enough to meet the conditions of my firm, but I'm sure I would've got better had I actually sat them. Other people weren't as lucky...

Yes same sort of thing happened to me, the suspense was dreadful! Yeah our school aren’t too impressed either, state school I assume? That’s still amazing so congrats, especially doing for us levels that’s so so good. Good luck for first year! But yes no one will ever know their full potential unless they actually do the exam, which after all this time out of education, would be quite impossible

Here in Ireland, it's another three weeks before our leaving cert results come out, and offers are days after. We're stressed out because our minister isn't saying anything and we worry that we'll end up in the same situation as Britain. The department has already mentioned that they've taken gender into account - I'm not too sure about socio-economic factors because my mind is a sieve with the stress, but it's not unlikely that the algorithm they've used will use that, which I don't believe it should. It's a whole mess.

Ah that's so interesting that Ireland do it differently, I have cousins over there so it will be affecting them. Gender? That's insane! They might follow the path of Britain and bow down to public pressure, as Wales and Scotland have under their separate governments so Ireland might not want to be an outlier. Ireland locked down quicker and has a much better track and trace system so they are ahead of England in that respect, it'd be a real shame if the education sector lets Ireland down. @@MeganMahoney1 since commenting, I learned that the govt won't be publishing the algorithm for the grades and we won't be able to see our teachers' predictions until a week after results come out (we get them on Monday 7th Sept). This is freaking people out because first round offers come out on Friday 11th, so we won't have any idea whether we can appeal or not (we can appeal the government's changing of our grades but we can't lay a fine on our teachers and what they predicted). I think Sinn Féin and Labour are calling for the education minister, who hasn't been heard from for weeks until recently, to tell us what's happening. At this point, I've kinda accepted my fate of scrubbing toilets because there's no way I'll be getting the 400 points I need 😂

that is just not right, how can the gov sleep at night knowing they've caused misery to hundreds of thousands of students? I hope an appeal does the trick, sorry this happened to you xx

Megan Mahoney I know, I lost my first choice university place as well because of it! I’m so upset and now I’m having to retake history with 50days notice and I’m so stressed!🥺

Megan Mahoney kinda, my uni asked for an A in history which would still only give me a B but overall, I’d say I’m much happier with ABB that BCC😊

Honestly I think people who got what they wanted shouldn’t be putting videos like this online, as so many people are so gutted. Ur lucky, don’t need to rub it into anyone’s face.

That’s a completely fair enough point, I did consider not posting it. Obviously when I turned the camera on and logged onto UCAS track and opened the results envelope, I had no idea what the outcome would be. I pledged I would film and upload it, good or bad, and my instagram DMs by 9am were already filled with subscribers asking what I’d got, friends and family too. I spent the rest of the day pondering should I edit and upload the clips. Although there was so much misery yesterday, and hopefully it will be rectified by appeals and government petitions, protests and outcry in the media so it can be rectified, is one success story allowed to be posted about? I’m sorry if it offended you and offended others, and I honestly still do not understand how the algorithm worked in my favour, I feel for everyone who have been unfairly discriminated again, and understand my privilege. Take care x
