Cool video! My family is getting gigabit fiber to our home in just a couple weeks and it's cool to see how everything works. I'm an undergrad currently pursuing a degree in computer information technology, and networking has really been something that I have been looking into recently. Your videos only further inspire me to look deeper into that path. Thanks for sharing!

Do you still do any videos ? I see it’s been a couple years but thought maybe you have another channel. I’m a Splicer myself and would not mind doing some joint videos with you something like this is how you do something and this is how I do the same thing and we can learn from each other and others can learn from us both.

@@fiberoptic166 where did you get that cable cutter from? The 48 CT is my nemesis with the pull string. They tend to run into each other when pulling

@@Ceejay_kay I hear you. I do small sections at a time to help reduce that problem. The red cutter is a pipe cutter you can get a local hardware store.

For the roaches, was it something found in the field? I am sure there are plenty of stories from crazy sites.

yes, I have seen roaches, snakes, frogs, rats, spiders, bees and ants inside pedestals

So basically this 48 core will break down and connect to a smaller core cable ??like an expressway leads to a highway that leads to streets??

I can tell by the way you hold your snips that you either used to work for the phone company or you were trained by someone who was.
