Wait no you got it wrong, it's not a OnePiece reference at all. It's a Maguro Taniguchi reference (Vocalist of this very song, member of Kana-Boon, same band of Naruto Shiruetto OP). He is dressed up as him with a wig of his fluffy hair and distinctive red jacket.

@@pulisichhh It's kind of difficult to confirm both cases actually. Maybe it was even a double reference. Because in the scene it very much appears to be a hat, and I've never seen Maguro Taniguchi dressed like that, or wearing a similar wig. Just like I've never seen Luffy wear a jacket like that too. Anyway, while there is no confirmation, it's up to what pleases the eye. But I don't deny the possibility that that's really what you said. What really made me believe in the possibility is that the anime itself features several classic references to other works, such as the scene with the electrifying punch that Akira gave the shark, undeniably similar to Boku no Hero.

as someone who is just generally impatient and binged the show in one sitting, i somehow didnt skip the opening for this series

I love how Shizuka (even tho she acts like she doesn't care) slowly gets into it (even if was dragged into the dancing circle). The fact she gets the "final part" in the big dancing number is just icing on the cake that she is warming up to them all.

It's tragic how this wasn't ready when the show first started because now the season is over and no one is going to talk about how excellent this opening is.

A zombie is a person who is not living life. In a genre so commonly desaturated in color and focused on the loss of meaning (institutions, relationships, moral values, etc.), I appreciate that Zom 100 stages its response the way it does, literally bringing color to the screen. The fact he ticks off a bucket list in order to live more is a beautiful recontextualization. I'm genuinely proud of the mangaka and the staff working on this show. You guys did a wonderful job!

It can and does exist as an expression of the artist and the times. Interesting examples would be the popularity of gangster films during The Great Depression, Nuclear anxiety stories during the Cold war, even super hero films in reaction to 9/11 in America. This is a very common part of academic discussion. It's also an observation of trends by genre critics. I highly recommend Intro to Film Criticism by Tim Bywater and Thomas Sobchack if this interests you.

@@ninjanamedbob2407it literally is lol the whole zombie apocalypse is just a background drop to the point/theme/message of the show of escaping the monotony of everyday adult life and chasing your passion and living a fulfilling life. The show isn’t even subtle about it (which isn’t a bad thing)

I felt that the opening was under construction in the early episodes, but in the end, it turned out to be a benefit. The energy is still there, and seeing the characters sing along with us makes it feel like an ode to joy. Every night, every day, this series reminds me of the saying, 'Life is too short.' Create your bucket list and share it with your loved ones or even strangers to complete and improve upon it. Even if it's not completed at this very moment, one day you'll look back at all the checked boxes and think, 'That was cool.' Just like this anime."

I feel like the OP only being changed to the current one as the crew has finally been fully assembled makes a lot of sense. Before all 4 of our MCs got together the OP would have felt off and the personalities shown in the OP might have ruined the expectations for the character in the actual show, but because they waited until everyone was introduced and their journey together has truelly gegone, it feels so much better watching them goof around in the OP.

This show is such an underappreciated gem,it's a whole new take on the Zombie Anime genre as a whole and I am all here for it and have been thoroughly entertained and inspired. It is so funny and so very fearless in it's messages that I believe there are people who are afraid of what this show will do if it's popularity is allowed to grow and inspires others I hope big studios aren't Blackballing BUG.

A few episodes release dates were pushed back a week so now they ran out of time during their expected tv time slot for the summer season as the fall season is now starting.

This anime is ridiculously fun and just a spectacle for the eyes and ears. This opening helps with coping with the indefinite hiatus of the show. I so so SO hope that this anime gets continued eventually and that they have the time to produce the show without becoming an example of what the show is actively criticising.

I'm so so happy that everyone finally recognizes how this manga is the best work. I mean anime is the BEST quality I've ever seen which make me happier. I recommended Zom100 few years ago to friends and nobody listened to me. they thought it was like the anime School Live!

Best anime opening of 2023.

My favorite OP of all time is Hit In America from Beck. I saw it probably 15 years ago now. This is the only other one I've seen since that really takes me back to that happy alive feeling Beck gave me.
