Fell asleep in the evening with another video and woke up again to your video/stream and now I'm learning to program (C#). I have no idea how far I'll get, but you've inspired me. And I've always enjoyed writing anyway, even if I haven't yet written programs. But anyway. Thank you for inspiring me.

@@snarkyboojum Thank you very much. I'm currently taking a course on Udemy and am having a lot of fun with it. And yes, I chose C# because according to my research it is better suited for complete newbies. and thank you for the encouragement. I think it's good when a community encourages you or gives you help and doesn't make you an ego that knows everything better and denies you any help or encouragement. Together we are strong, have fun and achieve things. In my old job, I took other trainees with me during my own training to show or explain things to them. I'm a big fan of sharing knowledge, especially since showing and explaining it individually in a practical way helps a lot and you usually get a lot of gratitude in return.

Hello I have been following your streams for a long time. You are truly smart and talented in programming. You spend hours programming and create amazing things. Can I know how many years you have been programming? Do you have any advice for me, as I have recently started programming and want to become a good programmer like you? Thank you.

The secret is to do lots of programming. Program lots. If you're ever in doubt, just code some more. The rest will follow. Find what you enjoy and keep following that feeling. You'll build some amazing things. Enjoy!

Theres no structure to this shit, you just pick some little thing to learn, then another thing, then if you get stuck focus on that, or do something else and come back to it, and do that for years and you'll be good. Nobody will hold your hand through this

OpenGL will always have a place because it allows direct access to your GPU, just as Vulkan does, and it's not the API that is slow, it's your graphics card. That said, Vulkan does allow for deeper access which mean it does allow for better potential optimizations in your renderer, however, Vulkan is extremely difficut to learn/write in and I think it's a real shame that Khronos have no future plans to add any new features to the OpenGL spec because it isolates graphics programming beginners from cool shit like raytracing and everybody wanna cast n receive rays.

WebGPU is a nice way to get started with a modern API - not as hard as Vulkan, and more modern than OpenGL - google WebGPU Fundamentals - great tutorial.
