It expands the capabilities of the radio in so many different ways. Especially the scan speed now rivals that of a high end scanner.

I have alot to learn enjoying tinkering I do like a colour screen tho.

I will watch this video carefully several times until I feel confident to proceed with the upgrade. Yes, I do want the OpenGD77 on my Retevis 3S, KN6ZFM.

I have a baofeng dm1801 with the open firmware. Pressing one of the side buttons reveals the rx and tx frequencies of a memory channel - is this the same for RT3s? Also I'm assuming that the channel knob changes channels? Thanks

Is the pinout for the programming cable different on the RT3S to the Baofeng DM1701? I made my own cable for the DM1701 but my pc says the RT3S is an unrecognised device, its not a driver issue, its the USB itself failing to find a device ID.

No idea seems alot hastle better to buy a cable .

Andreas, I'm worried I might mess up the radio downloading the opengd77 on my Retevis RT S3. Is it really worth it? The original firmware aesthetically is much more pleasing.

What cable are you using, i got a cable by Retevis but is it true that the RTS3 GPS and Non GPS use a different type of Cable without a serial converter in the cable?

I can't get this radio to be recognized on Windows 11. I've tried it both with pressing the 2 side keys when turning on and without.

The drivers are installed when you install the CPS Software .Follow the steps slowly and carefully .

@@HamTechRadioScannerDrones I just installed the 3.0.1.0 drivers a different roundabout way. I opened the default RT3S software and the software does a download from the radio, but doesn't seem to be showing any saved memory channel data from the radio.

If I install this do I just write my own code plug into it or do I have to completely reprogram everything?
