As you can see, there are still some bugs such as the curving being very rough, but this is the first demonstration of a player train being able to operate on other rails on the route, without having to reload or recode the tracks, as shown in the video. This is available publicly in the latest openbve version that was released a few days ago that you can try out if you know about route development.
