Open Uni Q&A: answering all of your questions

Hey hey! Today's vid is the long awaiting open university Q&A! You guys have asked me so many good questions which I'll be covering in this video!
QUESTIONS ASKED:
1. I haven't studied since college days - would that suffice to go straight into University? Fyi, I'm not an exam typa person
2. Would you say its a supportive system despite being independent learning?
3. How do you receive assignments and how do I start doing them? Because I thought the planner was the actual work ugh
4.Does the degree you get is exactly the same as the one you would get from a campus one? Does it say anywhere it was taken online or something?
5.When I apply for the student finance do I apply for both modules or just the first one. Thanks xx
6. Can you do it without doing the access module? i don’t have the best grades from years ago :/
7. Are the courses recognised by other universities?
8. Do you often meet lots of people whilst studying at the Open University, or is it a very lonely course?
9. How long before the course beginning was the study planner made open to you?
10. Did you receive any other post besides the parcel with the textbooks and assessment booklet?
11. If I start studying full time do they offer maintenance loans like normal unis do?
12. Does the university organise a graduation ceremony after the completion of the courses?
If your question wasn't answered, feel free to comment and i'll create a follow up video!

Just to let everyone know who wants to join the open university the percentages to pass are higher than actual brick university for example: 50-59% is a 2:2 honours degree whereas open university to get a 2:2 honours degree it is 55-70%

Yes, but they are marked the same, in that a 2.2 in a brick and mortar uni would require the same amount of work as a 2.2 at the Open University

It is the case that it’s the same as a brick uni I was in Bangor university and then switched to open university that’s how I know thanks Megan 👍😊

How far in advance did you register for the course? Would it be too late to register in July for the October course? Just because I'm worried there may not be enough places or something! 😬

Hey, this video is so helpful:) was just wondering when you said the degree isn’t recognised by other universities does this mean that once your degree is finished you can’t get a masters from a different university? 💕

OU degrees are accepby all unis and you can get a masters. My friend ddi an OU degree, then a masters at a brick uni, and is just submitting her PhD this month. It is exactly the same as any degree from any other UK university... and a lot more highly regarded than many

many people get their degree from open university then do a masters at a brick university, maybe even a russel group. it is the same degree that you would get at a brick uni and is respected and treated the same (read this all online)
