Me, too. I remember one of my first efforts years ago, ruining piece after piece of template plastic, by tracing and cutting a triangle and trying to cut around it accurately. And shaving thin pieces of skin off the tips of my fingers as I went!

Tip: in the original Adjustable Jelly Roll Race video, the strips are arranged randomly. In the give away quilt, you can see how the dark strips are toward the sides, with a gradual order from mid range to lights in the middle. I’ve made this pattern three times, and I think it looks so much nicer with the values arranged like the give away quilt. I also used leftover three square stacks and strips to make a piano key border on one, and that looked nice! Another used Donna’s tip for adding skinny inner borders by sewing them together to the outer border, and this allowed me, as a beginner, to make nice mitered corners. I wholeheartedly endorse that pattern for beginners!

Talk about a day brightener!!! My eyes POPPED at the lively pattern, even before I learned the name of the pattern! When you said you'd gotten an entire row in wrong, I rewound and freeze-framed the image where you'd just started to consider threads. I kept staring at the quilt top, and I could FINALLY see where the pattern went weird, but it took some time to catch that, even when I was deliberately looking for it! This is such a terrific pattern, I wouldn't have minded owning it WITH the anomalous row -- a true Donna Jordan original! 😁😺💕🐾

Hi Donna! I am, once again, totally amazed at the absolutely magnificent quilt you have just completed. It is such a truly wonderful balance between being electrifying and beautiful. I did not know that could happen. As I wrote that, the thought of Cher--in any one of her many stunning costumes that she wore which were designed by Bob Mackie--just came to mind. Your quilt is almost too stunning to be used for a quilt. How amazing it would look hanging on some perfectly suited wall:: there it would be a modern tapestry! Simply stunning.

Omg🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️. I JUST finished a top that had five borders yesterday. I fought with that top for days putting all those borders on. I really wish I’d seen this tutorial before now. This is brilliant! Love everything about this quilt. Do you have a kit??
