Open Space | The Hogan Residence, Douglas Rucker, (1964) | House Tour
Ойын-сауық
At the top of Laurel Canyon sits an unassuming post and beam Tree House by famed Architect Douglas Rucker dubbed The Hogan Residence built in 1964. The home was originally built for TV actor Jack Hogan who also studied Architecture in College before making his way into Television. Chris and Susanna have been fortunate enough to be able to call this place home. They share their story on how they were able to acquire the home to raising a baby in the home alongside the work they've done to make it into their own while preserving the Architecture and Legacy of Douglas Rucker. The home is listed with the city of Los Angeles as a cultural monument thanks to the help of Douglas Rucker working alongside Chris and Susanna to make sure that the home stays preserved for decades to come.

Beautiful house. I love that you have a Daft Punk print!
I’m proud to say I’ve been there! Such a great story…
Gosh, this home is truly breathraking. These are the types of homes that I will always dream of eventually owning, hopefully there will be a chance to get one in the future

Yes. Super quiet. With occasional chainsaws for tree-trimming. :)

Thank you!
Job well done, another fantastic video.
I absolutely love your home. I lived in LA for a while, right in the center of West Hollywood, just near Book Soup. Often we would drive up to the hills to admire the mid century architecture To have this filmed tour is a special treat. Thank you
your videos go so hard!! They are beautifully shot and you seem to be able to really capture the essence of these homes. Please do not stop making them!!!
This is so cool! Love learning about your gorgeous home!
Mid century homes are beautiful but usually not warm and as inviting, it’s just a clean museum feel. However this is actually not bad. Maybe it’s the wooden walls or the darker colors but I do like it more. Great job.
absolutely wonderful what you have done. I absolutely agree with your philosophy of life, congratulations on this spectacular achievement. ..... zen billings in canada
They will have to move when they have more kids, but there is plenty of beautiful homes out there, no worries!

It's the best.
I've been to one such house in Malibu. It looks like the copy of that home.
Nice house. Too nice for that Burke furniture, they sold that junk at Montgomery Ward.
Very cool house! The actor Jack Hogan is mentioned as the 1st owner. Is that the same Jack Hogan who co-starred in the war series "Combat", with Vic Morrow?

Yes. That's the one. Same guy. Still alive too.
What music is that. Nice piece. :)

I agree, the music is stellar. In the description it says scored by Alphafox so unfortunately I think it was a commissioned piece specifically for this video and not possible to find on youtube or spotify as a single
Jack Hogan studied architecture.
daft punk art @2:32 !
