AYL_Alan: You're welcome Dave! Not every curtain rod has that much of a transition... but you need to be prepared. You can also get shower curtain rod covers as well.

can this be connected to any zigbee hub or is switchbot minihub needed?

I want these. Oh the pain of having to go to my curtains twice a day to open/close them. All kidding aside, I've been wanting to automate my curtains for some time. Especially when we went away. Installed 2 Ikea blinds this month and they work well but need this for the living room curtains. Good video Alan.

AYL_Alan: Leo, I think the #Switchbot Curtains are a good option. I'm personally curious about the Ikea blinds (Fyrtur? - I may have to cut them to fit my windows). Glad you enjoyed the video!

@@TechYourLife1 They are not cheap though. And not sure if that $258 (2) is CDN or USD. I was lucky with the Idea blinds as 2 - 26" fit the window really well and sync together. They seem pretty easy to cut though.

Arghh! You thoughtfully said "Miss A" first time and then went ahead and spoke a full Alexa command!

I've got a set coming because I've got massive Victorian windows and I'm not 8ft tall to open them without a rod (which is fine but a pain in the backside). Hoping this is the solution

Alan buddy there is one other thing! We take this piece of constructive criticism because I mean it very well. There's very few people in this world who knows what hockey tape is. Now I have family in Canada and I worked in Canada so I can recognize that but you might want to explain that a little bit further cuz I know it is kind of a clear 1 sided tape I'm thinking but it could be taken as a two-sided sticky tape but I think it's one-sided my memory. Otherwise than that that was as near perfect as Brian puts out sometimes even better than LOL thanks again but I've been thinking about it I thought maybe that would be something that you could make Brian remember to he's talking to the world not just Canada! But I do want a coffee and poutine.

You need a SwitchBot Hub to connect to Alexa

is it compulsory to buy Switchbot MinimHUB or i can have my own IR blaster and connect through to use my Alexa?

What's the message you're getting from the Switchbot App?

No cloud service button is not highlighted and you shouldn't need a hub, somethings is missing from video

AYL_Alan: Hi Harry, Do you mean that there is no box or arrow pointing to the 'Cloud Service' in the Switcbot App at 6:30 (kzread.info/dash/bejne/oKuJxM9mlKWWoag.html)? A Switchbot HubPlus or Switchbot Hub is needed for the cloud service to enable control from anywhere.
