IMPORTANT SETTINGS: The midi addresses have to be set from 0 to 15 as follows. Starting with "0" on slot 1, "1" on slot 2, "2" on slot 3 and so on until "15" on slot 16. On the video I left them all at "0" which are the incorrect settings.

Hi Marco! You can basically remove that condition completely. Im using that to also program other functionality that should run together when the plugins open and close. So that condition serves as a toggle. When the pluginstatus is set to 1 means the plugins are open and 0 when they are closed. and so that way I can run a specific set of comands when they open and another set of commands when they close.

Hi! For windows users, the same can be accomplished using Bome Midi Translator instead of Keyboard Maestro. Just create a new translator, set incoming to "keystroke" and outgoing to midi note. Duplicate the translator with the same keystroke but changing the output midi note until you have all of them. Important to set the incoming midi port to the streamdeck port or whatever. Also the opposite can be achieved, converting midi messages to keystrokes. You could even create a keyboard with function keys working perfectly using any midi device app (like lemur). Hope it helps!!!

Many thanks for this helpful video. With your guidance, I was able to set this up successfully on a Windows system using an Elgato Stream Deck. In case anyone else wants to do this; I set up a Multi Action button on the Stream Deck with 16 MIDI commands. The Stream Deck MIDI Out port on each command was set to 'StreamDeck2DAW', which I believe came with Trevigla Spel's Cubase Stream Deck plugin. In addition to following the instructions in the video, I needed to modify the MIDI Output Addresses for the Generic Remote to be 0-15 (rather than all 0 as shown in the video). As a bonus, I added an action to open the Channel Settings window using the same Stream Deck key.

Hey! Glad to see you got it working 😊 maan I didn’t realized I left the midi addresses all on “0” 😔 The right settings are 0-15. And that’s the way I also have it setup. If you see the keyboard maestro screen recording you can see that midi messages are sending to the corresponding CCs. I guess I had too much going on at the same time and forgot that. Anyway I’m going to add a pinned comment and also write in the description the correct settings. Thanks a lot for letting me know 👍👍

I do the same thing. I only setup 12 on my NI F1 controller. So i have these 12 pads that represent the plugs and its super quick. I have another controller where I did same thing and it does the bypass of those same 12 inserts. Cubase ability to assign most anything to anywhere makes it so powerful!

Hi! I used that method for a long time. The thing I didn’t like about it is that I had to think which button to press depending on the slot I wanted to open. This would slow me down a bit. Now I just press one button and no matter how many plugins I have or in what slot they are loaded, I get them all shown at once. I found this to be the fastest way to work with plugins, because I don’t have to think about window management at all. One button to open, same button to close 🙂🙂🙂 thanks a lot for watching!

Great!!! With your help I set this up with my Streamdeck and I dig it! The only thing stumble upon is to make this work im using a 'Multi action' and seems that this multi action has a built in few ms delay between each action, so when I press the button I see the effects popping in or out in this sequence which I don't like. Maybe there is a way around this that im not aware of. This one is a bit off topic, but since you're so handy with automating stuff in Cubase. I am wondering if you could help me with this: I use Softube Console 1 and in order for it to work, the Console 1 plugin needs to be inserted on each channel you want to control with the Console. Is there any way to insert a specific plugin via a shortcut or midi message? This would be my personal huge timesaver. Thanks in advance!

Hey! I’m not quite sure how to solve the problem with the stream deck. Are you using Mac or windows? If you are using Mac I can definitely help with keyboard maestro. Using it you can make a lot of things happen, including the loading of the console 1 plugin

Awesome Mate. I would use this if i would know which free Software can be used in Windows. Also shown up in the MIDI inserts in Cubase. I struggle at the last Point.

Looks promising, because keyboard maestro is not for windows I'm going to try this with my Android tablet and touchOSC. Your method disables the use of modifier keys which is great. Hopefully it will work. Thx

Hay glad you liked the video. Sadly you can’t do this with macros since cubase doesn’t support all the commands needed inside the shortcut assignments. But you can certainly map a button on your controller to do this using keyboard maestro as I described on the video. Hope it helps ✌️

Yes you can do this and I’ve tried it, but I think it’s not that efficient because you first have to look which plugin you want to open and then kind of guess the slot before actually pressing the key. So at the end it’s a slower workflow

you selected 16 chorus effects...what do you do when you are using 16 different plugins..I am a little confused..thanks.

You have to load any Plugin on each slot to be able to select the slot. You can choose any plugin for the setup. Once you setup everything you can load any plugin on any slot and it will work. Hope this help!

This works for now, but at some point Cubase said they would depreciate Generic remote. As it stands development of the new midi remote has remained unchanged since V12. Its really disappointing that Steinberg has added this functionality to the new midi remote.

I’ve solved the issue ; I now have 46 monitors 😂👍

I think I have the pro version if im not mistaken, the most important thing is that is able to capture your keyboard key or midi button Nd sends all midi messages at the same time

It’s not the same. What I show here is how to OPEN AND CLOSE all plugins with the same shortcut that are on the same channel. The shortcut you are using closes all plugins only. No option to open them AND with it, you close All plugins no matter which channel you are currently working on. Maybe watch till the end of the video 😉

I don't think I've ever needed to change all the plugins on a channel at once. So, not doing that setup saves me a lot of time. :)

Yeah I get this, but The main idea here is not to adjust all the plugins at once but to save time by automating the whole opening and closing plugin windows with just pressing the same key. Rather than having to go to the mixer or inspector, search the plugin, click on it, and click again to close it. Cheers!

the worst part it is not explained in the video...how to configure the shortcut...since I'm on windows I don't know what to do since there is no keyboard maestro for windows :(

there is autohotkey for windows for custom macros, but its not as easy to program compared to keyboard maestro

The only thing you have to do is to send the 16 midi messages at the same time and map it to one key. There are several ways to do this: with a midi controller, with a macro keyboard like elgato, and also with software. Since im not on windows I can’t tell you which software would do the job but im sure a google search would do the trick 😉
