Open 6DOF - Controller PCB Assembly - Part 1: Ordering/Assembly

I get many questions on the PCB so I wanted to dispel the complexity of the build. This is designed to be easy!!!!, the parts are all easy through hole solder joints.
My laptop could not handle this video project as it was getting to long for it, so I have to cut it up. I will devote the next one to flashing the firmware - bench testing, then plugging it in my rig!!!!...

    This is a very good project. I am also making it according to the tutorial, but now it is stuck in the line sequence definition of the motor control board. Can you help me? (I come from other countries and use computer translation. Please forgive me for the semantic difference)

    Nice!, planned on making a video on the pcb process but you beat me to it, mostly because I'm lazy lol! the sensor board must be a fairly new addon? I didn't think that was there when I built my pcb

    yeah, you are a few revisions behind, .. make sure you are watching/subscribed to the github project page!!! the sensor board wraps all limit switches to a single ethernet cable , and better connector for the e stop,.. and estop/pause works now in code. and there is a bluetooth output... so you can monitor the positions,.. so many things bro :)

    @@Christopherknauf that sucks about your back man!. So will I need a new pcb to use the sensor board?

  • @Christopherknauf

    @Christopherknauf

    3 жыл бұрын

    @@sfcoawol6273 Yes, the new sensor board mates to the new controller PCB with the ethernet cat5 connector/cable,... it just cleans up all the wires you need to run from the platform to the controller. I also recommend the new soft estop feature ..... I would recommend if you are near a completed rig.. then keep up with these new changes, if you are still in building and testing phase,.. then just keep an eye open on this, and the github site... I have some more changes I want to do... specifically replace the IDC motor connectors with DB25 so we can just use the cable the motors come with.

    is there a 'how to' for worm gear dc motors?

  • @Christopherknauf

    @Christopherknauf

    Жыл бұрын

    The inverse kinematic algorithm is designed for this Rotary Stewart style, not the linear actuator you would have with a worm gear. Also the DC motor would likely require a different interface, as well pid controller to drive the motors to the right location accurately, something the ac servos do natively
