Reference is made in history that Nana Boansi and Nana Sarkodie Darte joined together to rule Antoa. It is interesting to understand the relationship between these two chiefs. Nana Sarkodie Darte played a significant role in the formation of the Ashanti Empire.

King Osei Tutu' s father was Owusu from Akwamu . He impregnated the sister of Denkyirahene and run away to Akwamu. It was there that he met Komfo Anokye. There's Tutu shrine in Akwapim where Manu Kotosi had help to conceive Osei Tutu. One of the disadvantages of Oral tradition as a source of history. I taught that history in Social studies when I first graduated from college with Cert A. The man is not forthright with his narrative. Denkyirahene's sister was Akobena Bensua. King Osei Tutu was provided with some men by Akwamu to protect him because his father was from Akwamu. King Ansah Sasraku of Akwamu did that. Check the distance from Akwamu to Akwapim in Eastern region. Awugua to Tutu all in Akwapim.

you are right. At that time, Okomfo Anokye was in prison when Osei Tutu met him for the first time. When Ansa Sasraku first heard of Okomfo Anokye, he sent his team to go and ask for his hand to come and assist in building the empire but ANOKYE turned the offer down. It was the annoyance from the turn down which Ansa Sasraku saw as disrespect and ordered for his arrest.

@@agoogo5026 AT that time, groups were very few family so I am unable to tell you exactly what they were called. There was not even Asante at that time. Asante is a union of majority of Akans to stand against one of their own(Denkyira) that was bulleying all of rest. Even Tafo, Kaase and Amakom, just to mention a few, were by themselves and were already existing before the ancestors of Osei Tutu the first came to Kwaman(present day Kumasi) But the Dormaa people came from Akwamu(Present day Asamankesse), Settled at Asumenja before they came to Suntreso. It is also important to note that the ancestors of Osei Tutu also came from the same area(Akwamu) to Kokofu before some of them moved to Kwaman. That is why the mother had to go back to their root to seek for a baby when she found it difficult to have a baby- hence the name Tutu. That's "Tutu so". Tutu shrine that gave the mom a baby as it was the practice in those days.

TEACHER, i like your program, but one thing i don't understand about Ghanaians history is that, we don't have beginning and we don't have right start, 🙏 🙏 🙏 Pls, As people's and nation, we suppose to come from somewhere!! Now we have diaspora ancestors, coming back home, so if you said, history starts from Otumfour Osei Tutu, then what are you want to tell the rest of Akans? Even in Europe, historical stories can not be twisted If all akans are one people's, then make history that can benefit all akans people's. Even though, in Otumfour Palace, we can find all akans chiefs, so stop rejecting the rest of akans, unity and understanding can build our community as Ghanaians.

The mother therefore after several years of struggling without a baby, went to seek help from the Tutu shrine at Akwamu. The mother remained there until he was born. Offcourse they came back to Kokofu. My brother, forget about the oral saying that he was born at Kokofu. That's not true. They lived there(that became their new hometown. The place they claim to be his birthplace could possibly be where his mother/grandmom lived, but he was not born at Kokofu.
