In this week’s video, we break down the best locations to see and photograph elk in Pennsylvania. Pennsylvania is one of the 31 states that has an elk population and Benezette in Elk County, Pa, sees more than half a million visitors a year to see these majestic animals. In this video I’m going to give you the information you won't find anywhere else and I know this because as a wildlife photographer and filmmaker I spend hours researching where to find the wildlife I encounter. When it came to finding information on locating the elk during the summer months I found very little information that could lead me to seeing the more than 1,400 elk spread over the six counties in Pennsylvania. So, I spent four days from sunrise to sunset scouting each location, hiking new locations and driving around to see if I could get a grasp on the elks daily routine and the locations they spend their time in. By the end of this video I would have told you; where I didn’t see any elk, what it’s like viewing elk from the overlooks, other wildlife I encountered, the best place to view sunrise, sunset and take milky way photos, common rules when photographing, filming or viewing elk, the best times to venture out to see them, where I found them and lastly the people you can talk to if you’re struggling to find elk. Let me take a second to answer your question of who am I? I started making videos in high school back in 2007 and a few years later I got my first point-and-shoot camera.
