Sweet baby... I lived on Ashton in Westwood in the early 90's (going to UCLA) and on weekends when walking back from the Village (seeing a late movie at the Bruins theatre) I used to walk into the Pierce Bros. cemetery (the gates on Glendon Ave. were always open..) to spend some time with her.. Her crypt always had a card and fresh flowers. Some of my friends thought it was "weird" to do that... I used to tell them : "hey.. I went to say hi to my adorable friend..." For whatever it was worth It meant something to me; it was usually around 2 am in the morning, and it felt magical, mysterious, sweet and melancholic.. like her... and I always felt good afterwards ;-)

Even after all this time, no one has even come close to how magical she was. There are very beautiful actresses now, but Marilyn never goes out of style. To be born that beautiful, inside and out, is such a gift. To look in the mirror and see that sweet face looking back should have been so empowering and freeing. All doors are open to someone like her. Tragically, the image she saw in the mirror must have been so ugly and worthless as to make her long to die. It's still almost incomprehensible. Think of all the little girls growing up in similar circumstances who aren't beautiful or even pretty. I suppose those are the one's we should grieve for. RIP Marilyn

There are no ordinary or unremarkable photos of Marilyn but these are extra special. What an unusual collection. It's like I'm seeing Norma Jeane if she had been a college undergraduate out with a boyfriend who had a camera. This hairstyle looks so much nicer than some of the others she would have shortly after, the others were too short and "sculpted", if that's the right word, for my taste. As I looked at these pictures I was thinking the hair could have been a little longer and the lipstick toned-down a bit but that's OK: we're seeing a young woman of extraordinary presence and charisma who was in the process of creating a look and persona, someone who has not yet but will "come into her own". I've never seen photos of Marilyn like this and I am grateful for the opportunity to see them.

This was very well done and I like the song picked for it. There are a ton of photographs I've never seen before with her and I've been a big fan of hers since a teenager and I've seen a lot. She was so photogenic. What a dream for the photographer!

Marilyn était une merveilleuse actrice, sensible ,féminine et avait une soif de vivre .....C'était une icône qui malgré une enfance perturbée elle s'est accomplit dans son rêve.Elle nous a quittée trop jeune ,son passage n'aura durée que le temps que vive les roses mais elle demeure et reste la seule et unique Marilyn.Elle est intemporelle.Merci du partage ( jolie musique )

Era bella pero no solo por su fisico .sino por su interior era una mezcla de misterio dulzura sensualidad amor y hasta dolor .y no era una rubia tonta mas bien muy inteligente .

Amazinggg So much feeling.. But , sadly, she didnt help herself..she was waiting for soemone to rescue her...& instead, they screwed her from bad to worst... Such a child heart..Few people ever existed that , didn t grow up inside... She stayed true to thta joy..sensitivity..of th child within.. We r all born that way.. but that s too painful to live with.. Most people become ugly and hard iron hearted ..but she didn t , despite having a hard childhood..that s admirable.. But, Having sold her body actually for a role in hollywood _ she wasn t th only one b y th way..even some men had to , but...that never allowed her to be happy..she never forgot that she had to lower her head to be where she was..that killed her! She had her moral, her standarts...ideals...& she knew that , selling sexual chemistry didn t say much about her vivid intelligence..curiosiy..need for knowledge... Imagine what she could hav done if she stood for a cause, for ex, like helping kids in Africa? She d hav been so happy.. Did U know that she helped a black singer take off her career , in th 50s, ...in exchange for her appearing in th same famous white people VIP club for a week? Haha.. Lov her Bless U MM

Wonderful video of gorgeous Marilyn. I've noticed she had 'M.M.' on the top left of her shirt. Small detail I never noticed before. I wonder what she was reading. A script perhaps? In some of the photos (e.g. 4:22 ) she seems to be acting I think these were taken for Life magazine but were not published in an article. A mistake.

In the churchyard, just outside our New Sanctuary 1970 built, and nearest the cornerstone, is a monument, too, something to read on it, that began, "THIS IS THE DAY"!
