I got a 8k cable with 2 k supported and 144 hz but it only shows 60hz

u can download a program that can give you your own hert profiles, i had the same problem, my 100 hert capped at 75, made my own profile and now run 100

Same but I don’t have asus tuf gaming because I broke mine by punching it. And 3 months ago I got a new monitor by AOC, it’s a Curved 4K gaming monitor and it has no overlocking feature. And somehow on it the game mode feature is greyed out on it

You can fix it by three ways my default monitor can be caliberated with 144hz so press hold monitor to menu to get 165hz , from windows display settings, sometimes graphics drivers have default settings low

this is really useful, I have a dp cable and my monitor just create a custom resolution for about 162hz, thank to this video now i can totally use 165hz. TYSM

What about for the lg 45gr95qe. When I'm on my desktop it shows 240hz but when I'm on any game it always maxs out at 120

Try turning on g-sync or freesync

I just got the 27 inch, 280hz Tuf Monitor yesterday. Somehow managed to figure out how to do what's in the video, and despite it saying it's going at 280hz, in games, it still caps at 260hz, even if my system can run at way higher FPS for the game. WTF? :/

I dont see overclokcing

This doesnt fix my problem. my problem is its set at 75 hertz rn and i put it to anything higher it stays for a couple seconds if i click out of it and go to something else or click windows button on keyboard, it goes back to 75. yes its plugged into graphics card as Display port, and i have tried to put it in different slots.

And what if my monitor doesn't have the setting yours does

isn't bad to always have it overclocked? i have a 240 and every now and then it only shows 144. i can turn overclock on and off and it fixes it but sometimes it doesnt fix it.

Yes overclocking is bad, BUT if the monitor is advertized as 165hz by overclocking that means its safe to overclock to to the advertized refresh rate of 165hz.

For me it goes to 144 hz, prob has to do with the version of HDMI my computer is outputting (I don't have a displayport on my PC)

you need a display port to go any higher than 144hz, I have a laptop and don’t have a display port slot so I had to buy a usb c display port cable

That’s because your gpu doesn’t support anything above 120hz

any res higher than 1920 by 1080 wouldnt have 165hz

@@ChillWjoel I have managed to fix it, If you are you using a HDMI cable that will give you less Hz, whereas if you use a Display Cord that is better and gives you max performance

Maybe the monitor u are using only has a 1.4 hdmi and not 2.0. What monitor do u have

then use hdmi 2.0 dcable most pf 165 hz monito have 2.0 port or you can use hdmi to dp cable that also enables 1665 hz i have a 165 hz monitot but i dont have a dp port i have to use hdmi 2.0 to achieve 165

I had not orginal Windows 11 and i had 60hz max but i installed 10 and it works fine, could be something with ur system

@@skipz8075 also could be something with ur monitors hz, because some monitors u need to overclock them in the osd to get the 165hz, the overclock in the osd is safe, so dont worry.

What if i dont have the overclocking system or do i get when i put the display port in

it doesn't let me overclock
