Also Ethiopia has some of the tastiest looking food I have ever seen! edit: WHY ARE PEOPLE SO PRESSED LMAO i specifically mentioned her not being afraid to eat with hands (as in bare hands) in this video because as a SEA person, I've witnessed too many tourists scared to use their hands to eat dishes that we usually eat with our hands. I just think it's neat for her to follow the culture because you can really immerse yourself in the country's culture that way.

I love how you don't look so awkward eating with your hands, like no hesitation at all and i love seeing it. Normally when i see people who don't normally eat with their hands, trying things like this, they look so awkward and hesitant picking up their food, but i love how that doesn't look like the case with you. It looks like you're fully embracing it (not afraid to get your hands messy, cuz it's just food!!)

Due to it being vegan, it is often consumed during Orthodox fasts.". I think Ethiopia has its own variety of Sambusa/Samosas and it is filled with lentils and potatoes. I love your channel! For folks that are trying to claim this food came from another country… Ethiopia is an ancient territory that was deeply connected to far gone global trading routes and was important religiously and politically. The world has been impressively connected well before the internet and you’ll find Indonesian ingredients in Indian food and visa versa and you’ll find Ethiopian spices and coffee all over the world. India was massively influenced by ancient Persia and surrounding civilizations and have sadly erased their origin. Let’s celebrate how interconnected we were and are and instead of saying “that’s ours”, the better question is “ I wonder where these similarities came from”… the story is far more interesting and enriching.

You have no idea how happy I am to have seen this video. I used to have neighbors who were an Ethiopian family. I’d hang out with their daughters and play with them as a kid, there was a couple times where they had dinner/snack and they had me join them. The food was this spongy bread with a reddish spread of some sort. For years I’ve tried to figure out what it was. And seeing this video I immediately recognized the bread, and you gave a name to it. I still don’t know what type of spread/sauce they had with it, it was like a darker reddish color and it might’ve had some sort of bean in it, but it’s really hard to remember to begin with and hard to guess with not being able to remember it well. But at least I finally have a name for the bread!!! Thank you for sharing, I finally have the name for something I’ve been looking for for years!
