Love how in it specifying d4 every time you choose implies there will be a range of the polyhedral dice in the final game, love the idea of meta progression gradually widening the dice pool with more varied dice

Clearly this game needs a "you have unspent points, do you want to continue" warning. For Tom, at least. ;P

Yeah, having warnings for any non-reversable loss is just good design.

I stayed up all night playing the first demo and got to somewhere around floor 700 with one build before I managed to press "exit game", so I think I'll stick to just watching Tom play this one

The d4 - the ultimate dice… to use as impromptu caltrops. (Also, having personally had a long-standing curse of d4 rolls thwarting me, I am amused that they are apparently Tom's least favourite).

D4's are maybe my favourite of the standard polyhedral set? It's hard to beat the elegance of a D8, and I especially hate rolling D4s, wretched little spite pyramids, but I am enamored by their uniqueness. The only dice in the set whose numbers are asigned to vertices not faces. There is something special there

I really am looking forward to this game releasing. Though, bit of an odd decision to swap to D4s, which also doesn't look as good on the grid.

Ah brill, I played this last night - glad I killed the boss in the other way around from Tom, it goes quite crazy but I could outheal and outdefense the reactive bug!

If you had avoided dealing damage every other turn the enemy would've had no shields and you could've killed pretty easily

OK I have been replaying this demo over and over again before and after this video was released,Tom! Go back and play this again, and actually try taking the new dice please! And don't be afraid of mirror dice, they're awesome and really opens up game breaking madness. Also you get graded if you beat the boss, today I got an S rank and I didn't know it went higher than A! Neat surprise.

Every update for this game has made it less aesthetically pleasing and now worse mechanically.

Worst die? The d2 aka the coin

The way the background moves opposite the mouse pointer + Tom's penchant for emphasizing with the pointer = motion sickness galore

D4 is the worst?? Well, I wouldn't say that... I don't want to get on their bad side, have you SEEN how pointy they are?

The D4 is the worst type of die in all situations but one. When forced into a physical confrontation, I would take a handful of d4 over any other handful of dice because they can be used as instant caltrops! The next best die is the d20, because they are the closest to throwing down a bunch of marbles.

If you're willing to lok outside the limits of the conventional set, the abomination that is the single d100 would serve you better as a marble :D

a d12 is heavier than a d20 for use as a thrown weapon, especially if you have a metal set

d2 is better than d4. Lots of things are decided by coin flip, but when is d4 ever used except for really low damage weapons?

Weird choice to make your dice-based game not look like dice any more, and make all the numbers smaller and less varied. This game looked much better before.
