For me a farm type sink is better than a split sink. You can use a pan of some kind if you need extra water with soap. Better to have space to get a big pan into the sink to clean.

I agree with you that one sink in the middle of the bathroom counter is better. Love all the storage in it but would also like a medicine cabinet instead of just a mirror. The bedroom closet looks a little different but it would most likely work for us. Everything else about the RV is pretty neat.

Uncle Josh, I have a 21 316RLS and mostly like it. Everyone is different, but I like the two sinks. While not as convenient (on the left) I have my own and don't get "feedback" from the wife on the state of "my" sink. With all the storage in the bathroom we haven't run out of room yet. I'm 6'4" and the shower is plenty tall and roomy. The overall room is nice, we just had six over (eight of us total) for a family thing on the road and everyone was fine, got a lot of complements. We have the 4 chair dinette table which helped with the seating. The overall size is great for towing, maneuvering in parks, etc. Gotta say, I still prefer my two "old style" air conditioners. Rear one can dump on us and we pretty much use it that way all the time in S. Texas. Hoping Keystone is focusing on fit and finish more now days. Your vids are great, I watch them all for tips and tricks and keeping up with everything. And you vid on towing was EXCELLENT.

Ticks every box for my wife and I. She loves the double sink and I like it too. Torn between this and the Avenue 32RLS. Leaning towards the Cougar though.

I really like this traditional floor plan. The only thing I would change would be to use a queen bed just to gain a few inches of walk around room.

Our 2020 315RLS came with a king bed but like you, we wanted more walk around room so I just cut down the base and put our RV short queen on it we kept from our previous TT.

Also looking forward to hearing from folks who have the new blade system. Bathroom - Would prefer a single basin, slightly offset for more counter space. I do like the faucets off to the side BTW. It appears the pantry shelves were not adjustable; I would prefer adjustable. Are the kitchen sinks 60/40 or even sized? Would like one larger for pots & pans cleaning.

I can tell you, the Cougar is a 4 season. I spent this winter in the Rockies in my 29rks. After having experienced record breaking low temps (it was -13f at night) and seeing nothing broken afterwards, They Are 4 Season Trailers.

We have the little brother to this model (2020 315RLS) which has the pantry between the TV and the Stove. This provides a larger coffee bar which we are able to put our icemaker, coffee pot, blender and the paper towel holder on. I do wish we had this bathroom minus one sink but the storage in the 316RLS bathroom is awesome. Our 2017 F-250, 6.2L gas truck tows it just fine. Happy camping and safe travels everyone!!!

Yeah I felt like this was a solid improvement over the previous 315RLS though that 315 never was a slouch by any means! Only thing that hangs me up on this is that goofy 2nd bath sink

Thanks for the new vid Uncle Josh! I would agree the bath could be done differently. Not sure about the outlets on the ceiling in the bedroom, nor am I a fan of not having nightstands next to bed, as a CPAP user. I do love the large windows on the camp side. The Alliance is still a favorite with the ginormous camp side windows! Keep up the solid work my friend!

Pantrytainment with swingout TV for us, along with the table and chairs. Get rid of that stupid extra sink basin, and replace the fart fan. Other than that, I have basically no other nits to pick. Such a good unit. Also, that is a thermistor.

Are you saying you're prefer more of how Cedar Creek is doing their TV/Pantry storage now? Where the entire TV center/Fireplace swings out to reveal storage behind? I need to see things often to fully grasp them

@@JoshtheRVNerd For low storage (ie, fireplace level) that should be a fireplace fronted drawer - I have seen Alliance and Cedar Creek do this in the past. Above that, a bank of small drawers, (2-3) then the TV. Assuming a standard RL setup with the galley on the off door slide: The TV should be on a 90 degree+ hinge, with a positive catch on the right side. The hinge should be on the left, to allow both the couch / recliners at the rear wall plus the opposing slide's furniture. The TV backer plate for the TV will perform the function of a cabinet door. To allow for a bit more flexibility, the backer plate of the TV should have 2 heavy duty ball bearing drawer slides that will allow the TV backer to extend away from the hinge. This will allow for better viewing on the rear wall furniture. The area behind the TV should have two shelves with a small (1/2") fiddle or lip to keep things from falling out in transit. I would recommend two vertical uprights to separate the entire storage section into 9 smaller sections (like a tic-tac-toe board).

As far as I know it's tip to tail but MFGs sometimes get cute like that. Best practice is always to ask our folks to measure it up for you

Farmhouse sink in Kitchen. An option for a desk to replace the back sleeper for those couples that will have no guests and work on the road would be nice! and I agree with your comments about the sink in bathroom - 1 larger centered sink with space on each side wouls be best for sure. As far as a king bed both side storage areas - why not built-in open shelf w/ the USB ports and a small drawer... that would work.

Yea, I agree with yur assessment on the bathroom Josh. Single sink, more counter top area. We took shower tri-doors out and use a shower curtain. Nice interior. The design inside is basic 5th wheel 101 arrangement .

Still using two small bathroom sinks. One larger one would be grand.

I agree counter space in the bathroom would be nicer than two sinks. If they have space in the back wall of the living room, I think the plug ins would be nicer above the side tables, instead of in the bottom of the tables. Take care and stay safe, have a great week.

Love the kitchen and living area. The bedroom not having walk around room seems indicative of all for the most part. That sewer pipe seems to hang mighty low….would have to potentially drag that across something you may encounter that is elevated a bit. Hate when I see this on sewer pipes on campers. The paint scheme I love…..toned down and I like it. Do like the fact they use white covers for the AC units to reduce heat absorption in hot weather…..our Grand Design used black which I never understood but we love our GD. Great tour and review Josh!

You hit my #1 beef with east-west beds in slides; no side stands! 😡

Overall really nice! I prefer a single-bowl kitchen sink and a single bathroom sink with extra counter space. But I spy a power tower next to the stove (yes!). I am fine with the swing out TV due to as you said, one less thing to break. But I don't see an outlet or USB by the theater seats. Great overall kitchen and bath storage. My nitpick in the shower would be to use a flip down seat rather than the plastic corner seat. And yes upgrade the bathroom fan. A 12V fridge for the kitchen and the second A/C. I am okay w/a booth dinette or the table/chairs; each have +'s & -'s. I am team residential queen w/ "normal" side stand tables and stackable W/D. Good road -mode access in the kitchen! Just noticed no outside vent above kitchen stove window ....does this mean there is no kitchen venting (ref your earlier comment .....yes we do listen to what you are saying!) or is it because of the built-in microwave in this model?

Stove top does not have a direct vent hood. That's why they include that big XL fan in the ceiling I'd prefer both to be present personally

We've always liked Cougar however, making the bed in this unit would be tough. Not having some sort of nightstands is a bummer and the shelves above aren't really functional. The bathroom is nice however, our opinion is to have one sink with more counter space. The kitchen is really nice. Nice having work space on both sides of the stove top. Storage inside and out is nice. All in all can't go wrong with a cougar. Thank you again Josh for another good video 😊👍

I really like this. The only thing I can do without is the duel sinks in the bathroom, perhaps if possible a sink cover. The single poop shoot outside I like, I really don't like the duel outlet on my liberty express. Now if I had the truck I would be there tomorrow to buy this.

We have the 22, I love everything about it. The air... it does not cool quickly, it's way more quiet than our last cougar. I wish there was a master switch for the main lights rather than having to use the Incommand. I prefer the free standing table vs booth and I would also prefer 1 sink in the bathroom with extra counter space. Temperature monitor above the bedroom light, that blue light btw... grrrr. I do like that this one has the shelf above the windows in the bedroom like a Montana. I love that this model doesn't have carpet in the pass thru!

@@JoshtheRVNerd We live in Missouri so mostly state parks here in the hot humid summer. We have two units and usually will just place a fan on the stairs from the bedroom to force some of the air to the main area. Again, it's alot more quiet than our last unit so I'll take the trade off because it's still comfortable. Our old one just froze you out :)

i like the idea of dimmer switches but ive heard that diming the light dosent decrease the power used when diming the light vs full light on i would think that dimming would save some of the power since your not using the light on full but instead on less than full imagine if i dimed the lights 80% id expect the power to also be dimmed 80 percent to save on energy or power but some people say they dont and people also say dimmer switches are dumb and worthless idk the concept of dimming the lights for night time or sleep or hall way lights seem useful can those electricians and electric factory workers help clarify some things?

I like the floor plan. I would rather have the queen bed though. I like having the extra room and have the bedside table rest to put your phone or alarm clock. I would rather have the wide stance front Jack's. Nice unit though

Whenever I see a kitchen slide like this with a toe stubber slide (which is most of them) I ask myself why they don't move the lower cabinets up to the edge of the slide floor. Probably there is a reason, that I'm not smart enough to figure out, but it would seem to be a solution to this annoying problem. What are your thoughts?

Basically -- I agree there might be cases where the forward cabinets might hit the island when the slide is closed And I will sometimes see people say "The kitchen looks tight between the cabinets and island" even like the way you see it here. Could be an issue of how it "looks" or "feels" to people

Nice layout, similar feel to our destination trailer, but shorter lol. Hate the double sink in the bathroom, been with my spouse a total of 12 years, and still do not share the bathroom while using the toilet lol. Besides it isn't quite big enough for too bigger people.

Thanks Josh the double sink no no no i like what you said remove the one by the pooper and the thing in the bedroom is a sensor for the A/C in the BR the only thing about cougar is the floor heat but thats really not a deal breaker for me but its the ugly woven stuff under the table it sticks out i wish they could match the flooring I do like alliance and grand design and the brinkley but the brinkley is so $$$$$$$ thanks again RIC

@@richardsmith-io2is : it's okay, but I prefer matching flooring. The price is so good on this Cougar that it wouldn't be a deal breaker. The layout overall is great, I could cope with or be willing to change some of the decor choices. The fridge bothers me, I don't care for side-by-side, I like the bottom drawer freezer type (no water or ice maker). I don't worry about travel mode as I'm looking for a guest suite for when my daughter & her husband visit .

The Cougar AC System is not to design. 2 15’s may help but nut solve. With that said the RV itself is outstanding. Especially the 23

I'm partial to the frankentable, but this looks like it's got sufficient storage that I'd take the free-standing table & chairs. Definitely the pivoting TV, for the reasons you gave. Needs adjustable shelves in the pantry. I like the split sink in the kitchen, but I'd rather it be 60/40. I'd take a single sink in the bath, moved a little to the left, with a linen cabinet wide enough to accommodate a standard size laundry basket in the bottom. I don't like bed slides because of the lack of bedside tables, and outlets on the ceiling? No thanks.

How about elongated toilets for more "junk" room and wiping space?

My 2022 24rds has the blade ac system, it's quiet but not home ac quiet. I'd say it's about average for a ducted RV ac system these days. Way way way quieter than a non ducted ac system

Two absolute show stoppers on this unit for me. 1-I don’t like the sideways faucets, I have 2 arms and there on different sides of my body 😜 2- there’s not a place to put anything beside the bed, come on Cougar. I’d have to go with the 295RL or the 30.5 CKTS.

The Dollar Store 4” inch fart fan is disappointing😢but thankfully they upgraded their cheap Dollar Store suspension👍

Not to bad but any unit that does not have bedside stans with an outlet is a miss. Another miss is not using the space under the couch as storage accessable from the outside. I agree that the sink in the bath should be a single unit and get rid of the 4" fan. Otherwise it is a nice and well thought out unit.

Hey RV manufacturers and Josh, why don't they make bathroom sink tops that match the bathroom counter top like they do in the kitchens. I think that would remedy the issue the RV nerd has, and give more counter space if needed. That would be the best of two worlds.

Nice camper, and I like the color scheme and floor plan. I would rather have a couch without side stands instead of a love seat for taking a nap while watching TV on a rainy day. I like the free standing dinette, it gives you more shoulder room. The maxair vent needs to be in the kitchen more, hot air rises and its current location is to low for passively venting the cooking since the ceiling is higher over the kitchen. The bathroom only needs one sink, and they need to move the faucet to the corner, it looks goofy on the side and makes it difficult to wash/rinse your face. I’d like to see the sewer hook up a little higher, it looks awful low. I’d rather have a belly slung spare tire carrier, trying to lift that thing out while bent over under the 5th wheel and between the camper and the truck is going to hurt peoples backs especially as I get older.

The only way to get room next to the bed (at the head of the bed) is to buy a cheap 5th wheel. Apparently people with a budget are the only ones who have things like glasses, phones, or maybe like to have a drink at hand during the night? It's a stupid habit the industry has gotten into that infuriates me. I might want to change RVs one day, and 90% of them jam the biggest damned bed they can fit and either leave no room at the head of the bed, or put those roof-reacher shelves like this one has that's pretty much useless to my 5'3" wife, and only good for maybe a phone or glasses anyway.

Leave it as is don’t leave the dealership with out a washer and dryer installed. Find a plot of ground set it up and use it as a destination place. Then built nice deck, fire pit and outdoor kitchen with a fireplace and pizza oven. Final sit back cook a pizza and pop a cold beer. Great tour! My takes? 1) All things being equal we prefer a booth dinette...mostly to get good storage. If the rig (as this one appears to have) has really good storage the freestanding chairs make a lot of sense. 2) Bathroom sinks. ::sigh:: Why, oh why, would you do dual sinks like this? It makes no sense to me. Seriously - if someone wants to reply and explain it I would be very appreciative...I must be missing something but I have no idea what it might be... This is a great rig with an amazing size/weight ratio. Great kitchen arrangement and, Josh you are 100% 'correcter', the 'pantrytainment' unit seems to make more sense than a televator. Unless you never used a TV the televator means you have to move things to raise the TV and there are so many more things that can break (slides, motors, etc). It just seems so suboptimal to me but, hey, in your rig you do what you want. 🙂 Thanks for sharing this rig with us...we will have to find one to walk through.

The dual sinks thing was a trend going around that is starting to wane a bit as MFGs realize people don't need two sinks in most RVs. Some folks prefer it but most seem not to TY for watching and sharing your thoughts btw :)

One bathroom sink! More shelf space.

Not a fan of two sinks in the bathroom. Not going to be in there with the spousal unit and she could really use the extra counter space.

What exactly does 0-110 rated mean?

The outside temperature range these are rated to be comfortable and functional in after being tested in a large environmental test chamber.

@@oldengineer1519 well, I figured it was something like that…that’s why I asked “exactly”, as in, is there a certain temperature the camper has to hold with outdoor temp at 110 and 0, or is that just a made up term like a lot in the rv industry?

For Canadians: 0-110 would equal -12centigrade to 44centigrade. I live on the west coast of Canada in Victoria, we have our own special climate here. Very mild. Our recent cold snaps were around -5c (0c is freezing) they only lasted a couple days each. We have a few RV parks that people live in year round. Just thought I'd share. 🤓🇨🇦👍

Definitely a single sink in the bathroom.

The only thing I wish they’d add is a window above the bed.

We had a Columbus with double sinks and did not care for them, would rather have more counter space

We toured this model last week at our local camper show. We wanted to love this camper but the double sink in the bathroom is a miss as is the dual kitchen sink. Should be a farm sink. I keep saying this: MANUFACTURERS: Please stop insulting us with the cheapo spinner blade do-nothing fans. We will pay for the MaxxAir fans. If you would come to a show wearing a propeller beanie, we would be looking at you the same way we look at these silly little non-fans. Not a fan of the wall cliffhanger shelf thingy. Need a bedside stand even if it’s a skinny one. But that said, this Cougar floor plan at its price point is a great camper as opposed to the Alliance or Pinnacles which aren’t campers but more like touring trailers. Way better for shooting out to the nearby state park for a weekender. Thanks Josh!

I get it

first the trim looks mismatched? dark, and white? what ever happened to the "pop-up power towers"? the booth sucks. but shorten that slide a foot or two. no table at all. this would allow plenty of room for two recliners. and not be siting in a last dirt box. extend the awning to fully cover the door. swing out tv. less to fail. think K.I.S.S. i do like counter on both side of the stove. but is it cheap plastic? of could you place a very hot pot directly from a fire on the stove on to the counter? including around the sink. or say a electrical item got too hot would it burn or melt the counter? YES forget the sink net to the loo. counter space is best. bad deal for c=crap users. they have built a shorter 5er that fits the bill, just by dumping that rear couch/area. but montana wants way too much for it. $60 up to over $100K.USD. for some of us 35 feet is just too much rv. keeping it to 33 feet is far better in getting into places. i am a retired class A driver so i know how to get in and out of places. but as being single. 35 feet can be just too much rv. the manf must put on larger tail lights. so the fool behind you might even see you. and your brake lights.

Shower could be bigger with only one bathroom sink!! Nobody needs 2 bathroom sinks in a darn trailer!!!

I can’t tell you how much I appreciate your RV tours and specifically how you show the cabinets closed, then added shots with them open. Another channel opens and closes every door which is like fingernails on a chalkboard. So I unsubscribed and watch yours now instead!

Welcome to the RV Nerd Herd! TY for the kind words. It takes a lot more time than you'd realize getting all those extra little clips -- especially when I work alone. EVERY one of those little clips requires I set my gear down, open stuff up, try to keep the doors from closing on their own, figure out how to record it, actually record it, then close it all up and do it again for the next part. Those quick flyby clips you see probably take as long as the ACTUAL tour inside the RV lol :)

Does not cool quickly at all. This line up is not great in the AC factor. There are ways to improve this. Wish a 3rd ac could be added, it might help this

They have white and gray cabinets that look great, then totally screw it up by those ugly 1990’s oak cabinets above the sofa. 😭
