    1. Focus on core concepts 2. Write notes by hand (better retention than typing) 3. Parkinson's law (work expands to the time you give it)(give a strict time in which you'll study, leads to better focus) 4. Don't compare yourself to top students, but ask them for help and tips! I’m one of these kids. The problem now is that I’m used to it, but now there’s some content heavy things in school that i cant just learn 5 hours before the test or exam so i really need to actually spend some time studying in order to learn everything and i just don’t have the motivation to study. Like, once i start I’m ok i guess, i can concentrate really well for 1-3 hours or so, but the problem is starting. Ive watched a few motivational videos to try and motivate myself, but they dont really work well (and i got bored of it - i get bored really easily thats another issue of being smart, ill come back to that later) Like, logically i know watching it, especially if it doesn’t help me, is a waste of time and i should just do the work. So i stopped watching after like a week or two. But i never solved my motivation problem, like, i have no idea why i find it so difficult to get to work. Back to my statement earlier, boredom is a big factor of this, (even if it is only one reason and i still dont know what else is preventing any motivation from reaching me because surely it cant just be boredom, everyone feels bored right) as during class, the time where youre supposed to be paying attention, i just… *don’t* Like, at the start of the year i do, but it never lasts longer than a month and it’s always because the teacher goes too slow or something and i get bored and restless and just stop paying attention. But then by doing so i fall behind because even if it is slow content is still being taught - content that I haven’t bothered to learn due to not paying attention. And then the homework, so much of it is repetitive and useless but then theres just actually important part scattered throughout the useless parts and usually i just do neither because i cant be bothered to separate them and the useless parts are useless, and thus boring. Basically i lack the motivation to do the work, and i either need to find a way to gain motivation or increase my willpower enough that i can plow through the work without motivation, but i don’t know how to achieve either of those things. I found that a common denominator is boredom, like, ive learnt some really weird educational things from KZread that i wasnt required to simply because i find it interesting. I usually am attracted to things i find interesting, and where most people like things that are fun, for me interest>fun because something fun without interest loses my attention really quickly whilst something interesting but not that fun can hold my attention for a very long time. Of course both is ideal. (i spend a lot of time reading because of that as i find it both interesting and fun.) Due to this, ive deduced that if i somehow find a way to make school work and studying something of interest to me, i will have much less difficulty completing it. The question is how. Ive tried psychologically manipulating myself into thinking it’s interesting, but that never really works because I’m too aware of it, and ive also tried changing the work or my working style to make it more interesting, but that doesn’t work either. Basically I’m at a standstill. I know in order to improve, i have to study. And in order to study, i have to either make it something that catches my interest or magically gain the willpower to plow through the work. And i don’t know how to do either of those things.

I decided not to take the exams anymore. However, in March, 2018, I travelled to see a friend who just took this same exam without stress, so i wanted to know the success story and why mine is different. He actually told me he was introduced to someone who can get answer key and change grade. To cut the story short, I took the exam now and I have passed the exams without nobody would ask me how I did it but does it matters? All I know now is that I’m where i want to be. i will appreciate the effort of Mendosanonymoushack.net on google.

The study tips NO one will tell you: 1. Study a little bit everyday. When I say everyday, I mean EVERYDAY. This can mean watching a video on a topic, taking notes, working on practice problems, etc. When you study in little chunks everyday, you are more likely to remember the content 2. Apply what you’ve learned. You can read the textbook all you want, but if you can’t apply your knowledge, it’s simply wasteful. Students are often knowledgeable about the content, but don’t know how and when to apply this knowledge during an exam. Complete practice problems, study previous exam questions, ANYTHING to apply your knowledge in a real-life setting. 3. If you are confused about something, do NOT gloss it over. Students often read without deep understanding and full comprehension. If there is something you are not understanding, watch a video on it, ask your teacher, or ask a tutor. Do not stay confused. Rather, find the answers before you continue your learning. 4. Know what makes YOU learn best. This is where the phrase study smarter, not harder comes in. Do you like making your own study guides? Do you prefer to watch KZread videos about that topic? Flash cards and quizlet? How about writing your notes in pictures/diagrams instead of in words? This is one of the key study tips I can offer anyone. Maybe just reading the material isn’t cutting it. Deepen your understanding by applying your knowledge in a way YOU can remember. 5. Study in chunks. Your brain simply cannot remember everything if you overwork yourself. Work in time periods. Set a timer and work intensely for that given time. Afterwards, take a short break. This way, you are not as likely to feel burnt out. Being burnt out will NOT help retain that knowledge, if anything, it will make you forget! Remember, studying more does not equal remembering more. Good luck!

extra tips from A+ student: 1) revise on what you took today 2)Understand everything you read..dont ignore a sentence or a word 3)when you are in a classroom, dont write something down without knowing what it is or without understanding it 4)before you study, highlight everything important 5)create questions while you are studying for example: he was born in 1998 in england When he has born? where?who 6)sleep for maximum 8 hours and eat healthy 7)find best ways to study for your exam, there are so many ways that you can use (u can create your own way) 8)for every subject,it has different way of studying..studying chemistry isnt like studying bio 9)WRITE EVERYTHING DOWN 10)do activities that can help your memory 11)manage your time 12)do something that makes you enjoy like dancing, drawing,gym,etc.. 13)pay attention to class 14)download useful apps for studying like Quizlet, forest 15)when you have an exam, study everything that includes it ,dont skip paragraphs 16) when you have an exam with a lot of information, summarise and write only the important things on a paper 17)i usually study the lesson by this method: -i read it 2 times to make sure i understand it -i highlight the information based on color for example :blue-->things i should memorize green-->things i dont need to memorize but are important -i memorize the highlighted blue -read the lesson again 18)When you are studying math, bring some papers, and every lesson has to be summarized, what i mean by that is : -write the rule of the lesson and put next to it a simple example with solution -write problems that you find them hard and important -write notes like:"the exponent sign stays the same if its negative i wish i could show you my work so you can understand me more **when remember more..i will edit and if you have entered IGCSE,plz tell me some advices or your experience with it

I, as a student who doesn't like to study, but gets straight A's, will give you some tips. 1) The most important - pay attention to the lesson. It may be boring as hell, but try your best to listen, not draw weird things like my friend does. If you listen to what the teacher is saying, or even participate in answering the teachers questions, you remember a tiny bit more. Don't sit around sleeping. 2) If you have school books that you use, read the next subject before the lesson. Skim through it. You may not understand much, but it always is nice to read through. (This is just a habit of mine - you don't have to do this) 3) When studying at home, ask someone to question you about the subject. This helps, as some of the questions they give you might be similar to the test/exam questions. It's also a good way of checking if you remember what you need to remember. 4) Stary away from distractions. Put your phone on mute or away from you. Remember to have a little break while studying, eat an apple or something. Get some fresh air. If you struggle with controlling your time spent on a game (like fornite), try shutting of your computer/PC and go study outside (in nice weather) or in another part of the house (if possible). This prevents you from just turning on your game, as you are far away from the PC. 5) Keep a clean workspace. This may not seem helpful, but a clean workspace can motivate you to study more. That's all I can think of, good luck!!! Edit: Just saying that you don't have to follow these tips, every person is different :) And wow 2.1k likes 😦 And another: 6) Try to do your homework. I've got the worst teacher ever, that gives a page of homework everyday, but I somehow force myself to do the homework. If you have any homework to do right now, go do it!

THE FIRST ONE THO. It seems like a really obvious tip but I can’t tell you how many times I’ve overlooked what my teachers say during class, and then when I get the exam I realized there was multiple stuff that they didn’t put on the study guide, but I definitely remember them telling us about during class. Not only is it better recall to hear someone else explain it, but you’re more likely to understand and recognize questions in tests since some things that your teachers explain aren’t always directly copied from whatever notes you copied down from your textbook or study guides.

Tips for studying for exams: 1. Use acronyms/sentences. It's easier to remember things when you create acronyms/sentences! Believe me it's really helpful! I remembered I used to struggle a lot with remembering the steps of division and so then I made up a sentence! Examples of acryonyms are "may I have a large container of coffee?" for remembering the decimals of pi or "does mcdonalds sell burgers?" for remembering the steps of long division! 2. Create notes with your own words. Usually when your taking down notes, you just taking down whatever your teacher explains to you and instead just use your own words well why tho? It helps you feel like your really paying attention and studying which can help you remember it better! 3. Create a Study Group. I used to remember creating a study group where a few days before the exam, we review each other like asking each other questions like "What are the decimals of pi?". This helps not only you but others who are in the group get at least a passing grade! 4. A week/day before the exam, start sleeping for at least 8-10 hours. Well why? Because it keeps your mind fresh when you sleep early with enough amount of hours (You might have to adjust sleep schedule a bit if you sleep below 8 hours). 5. Remember the keywords/explainations. The best way to do this is using a highlighter. Scientists have shown that if you use blue ink/highlighter to mark down important things, you'll be able to remember things easily so do that! 6. Ask help to those who get high grades. Maybe ask someone in your class to help you study or tutor you! I usually help people who nedd help with studying or tutor them for free. When your teaching someone, your pretty much explaining everything you know back to them which can also help you remember it too! 7. Eat foods that can help you remember easier. There are some foods that can help you with studying. A few of them being dark chocolate or penuts. 8. Change study environment. It's not like you'll switch to a different study place every exam but when your studying, after around 30-60 minutes, you can move to another place and study there. Changing position helps you remember because when you're in the exam, you gonna try to remember everything but your only in one place and you can't remember everything in one place but you can remember multiple places! 9. Listen to music. Listening to music also helps you remember. In fact you can remember music easier than everything in an exam. Pick some study music and listen to it while studying. It pretty much also has the same reason as changing your study environment. 10. Don't get distracted. I used to always get distracted from random stuff and end up not paying attention to the lesson learn from my mistake please- 11. Download study apps. There are some study apps like Study Bunny, or Forest chrome extension for you to not get distracted. I personally recomend these apps. 12. Watch school KZreadrs. There are some school youtubers like Study to Sucess, or Wengie (she used to be a school youtuber but changed content and you can check her past videos too). I also like these youtubers and definetly recomend them

For people with procrastination issues, ADHD, or similar things, here’s a huge tip I use to study (and do homework!!) I’m not a straight A student, but I’ve managed to keep all my grades in the A-B range, which is a huge improvement for me. And this is all because of a reward system. Let’s say there’s a game you want to play, a video/show you want to watch, or maybe there’s a treat you want to eat. Tell yourself that you *cannot* do any of them until you finish, let’s say, your math and science homework. Once you’re done with that, give yourself a small reward. I might go to the kitchen and eat a few oreos, drink some water, refresh my brain. After around 15 minutes, I’ll return to my room and finish the rest of my classes. Then, I’ll go on my device and watch the stuff I wanted to. Works 100%, you can do it! Consider trying out a reward system if you’re struggling.

theres a problem with this. Usally when ur after a reward you take the way of least resistance to get there. That either means that your putting in minimum effort to get the work done (what that means to ur mind is different for everyone) Or skip some of the work entirely cuz you dont wanna deal with it and get to the reward part asap. Much rather you do a lot better at a subject if you want to learn it. Like litterally, no reward no nothing. You just want to learn it cuz its interesting. This applies to any task ur doing. The more something interests you, the better you will be at learning more about it. No reward system will ever beat this simple rule. Cuz you cant (btw), Its just how our brain works. Guess why school sucks? Yea, no one cares, and the ones that do have a genuine interest in it have good grades, intellect (as long as not absurdly low or high) has nothing to do with it. So what im saying is, if you have little to no interest in school, your never gonna get high grades. As simple as that.

As being the topper of the class once upon a time, I can tell you that there is no shortcut to get good grades. The only way is to develop interest in studying. When I was in high school, I wondered why people hated studying. Now, I realize that I wasn't interested in studying either, I just wanted to be praised more and more. Probably this is what all toppers may desire for as well. Or they want to be successful. But at the end it all comes to being praised again. So this put me under a lot of stess and I became mentally ill. Believe me getting good grades is just the result of how much you hurt yourself in order to make others proud. Do it for youself or else don't even try to. If its not for yourself, then its like digging a grave for youself because some day you will lose interest in studying and when people question you about that, you will not be able to handle it. I was best student of my faculty two years in a row (sorry very 'braggy', but just for context). I never 'kept' my methods to myself though, in fact I really enjoyed helping anyone who asked (although I guess that is one of the points mentioned in this video). And congratulations! This video is really true. A fantastic summary of how I always prepared. Hand writing notes was a major thing. I even re-wrote the summaries over and over as practice. Nerd here, here is my advice : 1) Actually pay attention AND participate in the lessons. At first, it might be super boring, but once you get used to it, it'll be very helpful. 2) When doing homework, always first revise through everything that you've studied in school. that day. Should take ~30 minutes only. 3) On weekends, revise everything you've studied that week. I'd recommend you do 3 subjects at once, then take a ~20 minute break, and repeat until all subjects are done. 4)Mental and Physical health are an important factor. Make sure that you make adequate social interactions and do some form of exercise. Doesn't have to be every day, maybe 3 times a week? (The reason this is important is because exercise and social interactions actually make physical changes in your brain, like making connections from one neutron with another) 5) Sleep.Well. I cannot stress this enough. Sleep is THE time when your brain is developing. In infants and adults, REM sleep is most common, which creates new neurons in your brain. But during teenagehood and in young adults you're brain actually tries to be more efficient, by developing from the back of your head. It then makes it's way to the front of your brain, which is responsible for critical thinking. Unfortunately, because of the circadian rhythm, teenagers and young adults cannot go to bed as early as adults, (basically, your sleep cycle naturally shifts BACK so instead of going to sleep at 9:00 like most people, you fall asleep at 2:00 AM) and teens are forced to comply with the adults schedule. There is a video by ASAP science covering all of this called "Is school destroying your brain?" 6) Do not try to study multiple topics at once. Take.Breaks. Otherwise you will slowly lose focus, and start to burn out.

Hey everyone ! I don’t mean to brag but I’m an pretty good student and wanna help people out ! , so , here is how I study and hopefully it may help you ! 1. Read over the material and take notes on it , even if you already have notes 2. While you’re doing step 1. Listen to some music! Which ever type you feel most relaxed by 3. Don’t cram the night before, if it’s not a mayor exam and it’s only a classroom test I like to study 2-3 days before (study longer if you need!) 4. If you’re a visual learner draw notes and diagrams (this can be really useful for subjects like geography and science!) 5. Drink water and relax , don’t forget to take breaks 6. When you’re done reward yourself with a treat , maybe a chocolate bar or some sweets 7. Make sure to reward yourself again after you get an amazing mark on that test , even if you only improve by a few percent it’s still progress and you should reward yourself for it I hope some of these were able to help at least one person here :)

Here are some of my tips as an A+ student: 1) If you can, ask your teacher if a topic you think it’s too hard will be in the exam. Most will tell you that “Everything we’ve seen”, so try to be more specific, like instead of “Do we have to study this topic?” ask “Do we have to study this concepts?” 2) Make sure that your notes are complete. Use different colors and make sure it is organized, it will help you memorize ir better. 3) Don’t write paragraphs of information, they’re are way harder to memorize. If your teacher wants you to write in paragraphs, rewrite it all later using mind maps, concept maps, etc. 4) PAY ATTENTION IN CLASS. I know everyone will tell you this, but this also means that you have to make sure you understand EVERYTHING, don’t leave with questions. 5) On practical subjects, search for activities on the internet and solve them without looking at your notes. That will help you know if you are prepared or where is it that you are having problems. 6) Ask teachers or other classmates what you don’t understand. Believe me that most classmates with good grades are happy to teach others, because that also helps them to study. 7) Know the teacher and the subject. If it’s the first exam with a teacher, it’s okay that you don’t have a good grade, try to adapt to their style of making exams or ask tips to students who already had classes with that teacher. 8) Don’t give up before trying. If you start saying that a subject is too difficult for you or that you’ll get a bad grade no matter what, well, exactly that is what will happen. And the most important for me: 9) LOOK FOR MOTIVATION. Ask yourself, what will I get if I get an A+? Is it your career? Your future? Or someone else? For example, my parents are my motivation, they have spent much money to give a good education and I want to show them that I’m grateful for that. So look for that motivation, even if your motivation is the satisfaction of getting good grades, that’s perfectly okay, but you need motivation.

I'm out of school and don't plan on going to university but this was quite cool to watch. Because I started out as a bad student who only excelled at subjects he liked while the rest were always falling behind in grades. Through time I learned some new ways to study, focus and simply be better at it and they match up quite well with the 4 tips in this video. I would also add that TEACHING someone else the topics of the exam or simply revising it with someome else helps ENORMOUSLY. Studying on your own is one thing, but doing a light test of your knowledge with someone else as if you were being tested for real helps you understand which concepts you haven't grasped yet. I would also greatly recommend to get someone to ask you questions about the topic OR try to talk about it on your own without looking at notes/books etc... I became one of the better students in my class thanks to changing my method and while yes, I did force myself through it, it paid off immensely. Studying sessions got progressively shorter and I could grasp the concepts quicker

My average test score is around 97% so I will give you some tips that I use! 1) *PAY ATTENTION DURING CLASS* I know it’s really boring but it’s fatal if you want to get a good score on your test. If you don’t pay attention then you’re gonna do badly on your test. 2) *TAKE NOTES DURING CLASS* If there’s ever something new that you’re learning that you’re a bit stuck on, write it down in a notebook (I find notebooks must helpful, I have all of my notes in there so it’s really handy.) so if you every forget how to do a certain thing in a certain subject, you can just look at your notebook and go over it. 3) *HAVE NO DISTRACTIONS ON YOUR DESK* Make sure your desk/working area is tidy with no distractions, for example there could be a pen on your desk that you could fidget with and easily get distracted by, causing you to lose focus and to not pay attention to the lesson. 4) *DONT BE AFRAID TO ASK QUESTIONS* If there’s anything that you’re confused on or don’t know how to do, don’t be afraid to ask your teacher(s)! Even if it’s just the slightest thing, DONT just think “meh it’ll be fine” instead, ask your teacher(s) so you know how to do it. 5) *SET A CUSTON STUDY TIME FOR EACH DAY* Studying is SUPER important for tests/exams, so make sure you set a custom amount of time to study each day. For example, “Monday: study for an hour and a half, starting at four o’clock.” You can have the same study schedule for each day or you can change it around depending on what things you have planned for that day. 6) *ONCE YOU’VE FINISHED PUTTING IN THE ANSWERS FOR YOUR TEST, GO OVER YOUR ANSWERS FOR AS MUCH TIME AS YOU HAVE.* Forgetting to look over your answers can cause “silly mistakes” as I call them. For example, you could forget to write a number, forget a decimal point, etc. Go over your answers as much as you can until your time runs out. 7) *DONT RUSH YOUR TEST* take your time during your test, rushing can cause “silly mistakes” 8) *NEVER LEAVE A QUESTION BLANK* Even if you have absolutely no idea how to do the question, just write a random answer. ANYTHING is better than leaving it blank. The answer of the question could be like 10, and you wrote down 9118271718. That’s still fine because at least you wrote something. And who knows, maybe you’ll get it right! 9) *GO BACK TO THE QUESTIONS THAT YOU’RE STUCK ON AT THE END OF THE TEST* Doing this will allow you to have more time to fill out the rest of the test/exam. If you spend ages trying to figure out the answer to one question, you might run out of time and have to rush all the other questions which could lead to getting a bad score. 10) *DONT OVERTHINK THE QUESTION* The questions are easier than you think, you’ve learnt all of these questions during class, and if you were paying attention and taking notes you should know what to do. Good luck on your exams/tests!💪

I ranked the 4th in my school, even though I was sick and had a surgery, and I can assure you that I didn't study as much as other students I studied maximum 5 hours a day I gave time for my brain to process every information, I wrote everything that I had to memorize 20 times before the exams, didn't study the night before, while others would study 12 hours and their grades were C- and some of them failed even though they worked harder then me.. I couldn't understand what was wrong but I found out their studying method is one of the worsts.

I have mostly A's and some B's and I've never been that person who puts a lot of time in school. I don't study much at all, maybe once in a week or less. My pro tip is to study smart rather than much, and believe in yourself. Sounds stupid, I know, but it's a fact proven by many studies that if you go into a subject with confidence, you will be better at it. Study smart: be focused and do what makes you learn. Don't keep reading ur notes if you don't learn anything by that (I don't even take notes at all). I have to things that I do when I study. First one is to write a summary of the text, by hand on paper. After I've done that, I remember everything summarised. After that, I'll look deeper into the subject and write down smart facts and words that I think will come on the test. To write down smart words is super important, bcs if you show ur teacher you know some smart words in the subject, she/he will assume you know it all and give you a higher grade. I never study at home, I can't focus at home and I don't understand how people can study at home, I don't think i've ever done that successfully. I buy a latte and I go to the library, sit there for about 2 hours a week, and thats all.

When it was home-studies I could easily skip all the lessons without consequences, study as normal in the library once in a week, and then do well on the tests with a little bit of cheating that was also so easy during distance. They do study... They just don't tell people they do. They also probably pay attention. I wasn't a bully in university but I used to remember what I read and I used talk to my sister about the lectures ( we were in the same law courses), both of us never needed to study hard because of this. We could remember things because we discussed it. It wasn't dead knowledge if that makes sense. Once you talk about it, it becomes alive in application and relevancy. Talk to your friends more about your study material!

(Better tips?) Here is my opinion (I hold several degrees from top institutions, including a PhD, if that is relevant). While tips 1,3,4 are very valuable, handwriting notes or flash cards are imo a pure waste of time and encourage content memorization over content understanding. I believe the main ways to succeed in college are: 1. getting the high-level ideas before any details: focus on understanding the content in a hierarhical fashion, by first making sure you fully understand the main goals of what you are reading (what are they trying to achieve here?), then understanding the high-level ideas presented (how would I explain this stuff to my grandma?) and, only later, get deeper and deeper into details. The biggest mistake is to start with details first and persist in reading stuff that you are completely clueless about in terms of the main picture. This also means that many times you can and should skip details of what you read, maybe because they might be irrelevant, or maybe because you might want to get back to them later after you have a much clear global picture of what the content is really about. Do not persist in trying to read a document word by word. 2. do not focus on memorizing the content, focus on deeply understanding the main concepts discussed 3. time spent: the more time you spend on studying is for sure not meaning the higher grade you will get. Your brain saturates after too much time spend on a single activity. It is very important to take frequent breaks, do lots of sports, eat healthy/organic foods, sleep 8h per day, have different hobbies, learn different new skills, laugh, socialize, relieve stress, be happy. 4. reading material quality: lots of times reading some content from a single source is not useful because that content might be poorly written. It is very important to try to obtain the same information from different sources, usually a mix between books, pdfs, slides, video tutorials or lectures, etc. It's ok to be superficial and scan over different materials until you find some that make the most sense to you. 5. last, but not least, do not be too harsh on yourself: do not stress out the hell out of you, be patient, progress is slow and success comes with time. Keep believing in yourself and the best will come for sure!

Handwriting notes really works, it’s a tried and tested method on myself. I got 92% in my anatomy and physiology exam this week and it’s because I made hella notes in class and read over them 2 days before the exam. I literally saw the answer in my mind as the questions came up. I would also suggest simplifying the terms in acronyms or something that’s easy to remember. For example, “plantar flexion” is when your toes are pointed down and away from you. So I remembered this by saying “plantar = squishing plants with your foot”. Hope this method helps someone.

in the CBSE curiculum writing notes is mandatory and even has marks on it. I always thought it was stupid and skipped most of the notes, but I always happen to remember what I've written down better. I recently had a realization regarding this too. Writing my own notes, not just the mandatory ones, really does do wonders.

My tips if you hate studying like me. I also hate taking notes when studying or reading textbooks, but I do take notes during class. Some of this applies really only applies to college students, but some of it is universal: 1) Go to class. If a teacher repeats something, it's probably important. I suck at taking notes but I'll make sure to jot the subject down and underline or put a * next to it so that I can review that info later. If I don't understand something, I'll try and quickly explain the part that I think I understand to the professor and ask a question about that part that I'm struggling with. Sometimes I got the first part wrong and that's why I can't get the second concept. 2) Talk with your classmates about the class and homework - a lot of times they're learning the material just like you so they may have better ways of explaining things than a teacher who's known and understood the information for years. If you and multiple other people don't understand something, it's likely a lot of the class doesn't so ask questions before, during, or after class about the material. Also, if you understand things and explain it to others, you retain a lot more information that way. 3) Go to professor's office hours just to check in at the beginning of the semester - ask questions about jobs or the field. Then, when you have a test coming up, check in with them again. Whether intentionally or unintentionally, they'll usually let you know what areas you should focus on. 4)Productive Procrastination - if you start losing focus on a subject, switch to something else. It could be another topic in the same class, or another class entirely. This keeps your time productive and is also good for remembering things since it's not just an info dump. 5)Spend more time (or at least more effective time) on homework and reading. I don't take notes when reading, but textbooks ask a lot of questions. For my accounting classes, if they give a question or problem, I'll try to answer or solve it on my own before looking at how to do it. Then, I'll see where I went wrong if my answer is incorrect. 6) If you have multiple assignments on the same chapter, don't do them on the same day. When you're doing the second assignment, you will probably forget some concepts from the first, so you may have to relearn some info that you got. I've got a few other tips, but this is long enough for now.

I was a topper in my previous class, I had no idea how, until now. I realized that I used to agree a lot during lectures ( by agreeing I mean just nodding ) and that lead me to actually understanding, you know how? I was paying attention to what the teacher was saying so I could nod at the right time without realizing I understood. Wasn’t a tip just my story btw!

Tips I've learned for cramming: (college edition) 1. Put all your info into one spot. Condensing ur notes into a couple sheets of paper helps u connect concepts easier. Also the act of writing it down gives you review 2. If you have a lot of stuff to memorize: Make flashcards using the cheat sheet you made; also come up with acronyms because they save lots of time 3. If you have concepts you need to understand: call a friend/ parent and explain everything to them. They don't have to listen, but the act of saying everything out loud will reinforce the concepts. 4. If you have to learn things like math or chem with processes: redo your hw, but do only one/two of each type of question

Best tip I ever got was find some way to enjoy the subjects. When I was in high school I found myself looking forward to my history homework because I loved the essays and analysis of big concepts. Doing math was my nightmare. But I realized that to get the grades I wanted I was going to have to make myself want to do the work. So I found podcasts about the history of math, I watched youtube videos that made the math visual, I studied with my friends and went through the problems together, I taught my younger sister. All of it was with the goal of creating positive math experiences so that I no longer saw math as awful, and it WORKED.
