    the leverage provided is not a physical exchange of money or a traditional loan. It's based purely on a contractual agreement that allows you to enter into positions much larger than your initial cash outlay (margin). This contract gives you control over an asset without actually owning it upfront. In Islamic finance, transactions that involve excessive uncertainty ("gharar") or gambling ("maysir") are prohibited. Trading in derivatives, like futures, where the ownership of the underlying asset is not transferred at the time of the contract, can be seen as problematic from an Islamic finance perspective. This is because it involves trading in contracts for assets not currently in possession, which some Islamic scholars argue violates the principles of immediate exchange in transactions

    Prophet Muhammed (SAW) “Leave that which makes you doubt for that which does not make you doubt” This hadith indicates that one should abstain from doubtful things and avoid them, because the pure lawfulness does not cause any doubt or disturbance in the Muslim. Then once I read the fatwa, everything came back to me and I had a moment of realization. I was at peace finally. Never before have I been at such peace with this matter, Alhamdulillah. @@EPresidential One day I dreamed what I was doing was haram, even though I was trading with Vantage FX which claimed to be shariah compliant and have a shariah board, I thought the dream was from sheytaan, since trading was my option A, my only way that I thought I would make it, with all the courses I had, I was in a denial... I entered the forex game due to a muslim guy that promoted Vantage FX and said it was halal, but he traded with a non-halal account this is where I thought it was weird. I did a dua, I believe the next day, notification of you popped saying is Forex Halal or Haram, in a April I thought it was an april fool or something like that, once I watch your videos I had so many doubts, I was not feeling good, it was like my dream was crushed... but may Allah reward you on this one, because for you it would be even worse to announce it but you did good to warn us al hamdulillah So with the duas I came accros more and more infos (especially from FinanceGuruForum a mufti made an investigation on that broker), and once I read back that certification and it was clearly saying at the end in little characters something that I don't really remember but it was actually giving them away that they are cheating people, but they just wanted to back themselves up just in case something bad happens so that they could go away. Few months after Vantage FX don't have muslim accounts, they don't even mention them, certificates are gone. This was enough evidences to stop it, may Allah forgive our ignorance, our waswas, and replace it with better things. Give us success a happy life and after life. A pious women with pious children.

I understand you have your own understanding on forex and you love it so much but you also have to think about what this sheikh/mufti’s say, this aren’t any type of random sheikhs you ask, this people are actually qualified to know, they know about the finance market, Islamic investing and all that, they have deep knowledge on anything that consigns the halal ways of investing and making money online. As for me i stopped trading forex at the end for 2020, i was profitable, i was so broken and sad because i was actually attached to it, imagine all the efforts and money you put in just to wake up one day and find out it might be haram, i moved to dropshipping and affiliate marketing but I didn’t like the business that much until i found out that stock trading was completely halal, if you don’t mess with the wrong stocks and i could apply technical analysis on it and it works. So now i trade the stock market. Brother you can do more research and follow what ever your mind tells you. Assalam

Instead, you buy or sell a number of units for a particular financial instrument, depending on whether you think prices will go up or down. We offer CFDs on a wide range of global markets, covering currency pairs, stock indices, commodities, shares and treasuries. ” Never mentioning where they acquire the contracts from. the commission increases as leverage goes up. This is akin to charging interest because it is like a percentage: the more they "loan" to you through leverage, the more you have to pay them a fee. The only way to escape this is to not use any leverage at all, but it's extremely difficult to make any profit without leverage because the profit margins are minuscule. This is the crux of the matter.

    Thank you, dear, for sharing your thoughts. I also did forex trading (demo accounts) and passed the FTMO challenge. Based on my research on this topic, online forex is haram. You have to see the bigger picture. The following are the key factors: 1. The core fundamental is that if you do not own the asset and do trading, it is haram. The contract you are referring to is like a betting contract with your broker. Consider this like a professional gambler with good knowledge of teams playing on a field, and based on his experience, he places a legal bet with a betting company (broker). If the price goes up or down, the gambler will make a profit/loss. The concept of CFD is to trade the price differences of an underlying asset without possessing it. Do not consider technical analysis as an excuse to get rid of the gambling part. 2. In gambling, the professional gambler has no interest or feeling with the teams playing on the field. In online forex, the trader has no intention to buy the actual currency and wants the price of the forex pair to move in a certain direction which he anticipated based on his technical analysis. The gambler wishes that his analysis becomes true and he wins the money. 3. CFDs are considered derivatives as we do not buy and sell any underlying asset. The outcome of this contract will result in the loss of one party and the profit of another party. So, how can a transaction be halal when one person is making money at the expense of other? It is a zero-sum game. There is no value addition in forex trading as the value component is separated from the economic outcome (Profit/loss) component. E.g. if I buy physical or virtual Euro by paying dollars via bank or exchange, I can use euros for my use; that is value. But if I do not own any euros, then I cannot use them, and no value is created. Instead, I am betting on the price difference of EURUSD over a certain period of time. Check the definition of derivatives. Do not confuse technical analysis as the basis of removing the gambling part. At the gambling table, those who know the rules do not make their trading halal, and those who do not know the rules make their trading haram. 4. Making a fair trade or business analysis before entering is always recommended in Islam. But, it does not mean that by adopting certain trading strategies, technical analysis and SMC trading with insane risk management, forex comes halal. It is like saying that if we say takbeer on a haram animal, it becomes halal. 5. Even if I am trading with no swap fees and no leverage, online forex is a CFD where I profit from the price difference. I am not buying and selling the actual currency (physical or virtual). 6. Putting TP and SL, or closing the deal at your onus, does not make the entire contract halal, as the primary motive of the CFD contract is precisely similar to betting/gambling, where you anticipate the underlying asset's price may go. You are putting TP/SL to preserve the principal capital or close your positions to minimize the risk of losing money or gaining profits. 7. Haram is haram, irrespective of its quantity or quality. Choosing a lesser haram over a major haram does not make a lesser haram a halal. Mixing haram and halal components and showcasing them as halal is also not allowed. 8. Actually, derivatives are used as a hedge against a real deal where a trader considers that he may makes a loss in future. However, people started trading derivatives standalone as they are more profitable but risky. Being a chartered accountant who knows derivatives, I changed my mind and completely abandoned forex trading. I was serious about forex trading but prayed to Allah to guide me correct path. Please share your thoughts as well.

    Exactly. It is CFDs that allow us to trade the underlying asset without actually having to buy it. A Saudi sheikh was recently asked to give a ruling against crypto currency, and he refused to do so. He said, in the coming years everything might become digital, including currency, and so I don’t want to give a ruling against it because in the future I might be asked to give a ruling in it’s favor.

    @@EPresidential This one of the biggest fitna the this and next generations and may witness. Today's world economy is based on dollars and some other powerful currencies. Right? However, these currencies are based on nothing. Dollar does not hold any value within it. As dollar and other reserve currencies are required to settle imports/exports, hence such currencies derive their values from such trades and demand in real terms. Today such currencies are in our pocket, we use them, so it means that this is haram. To a larger context yes, but we cannot control them hence many ulma say that those things which are not in our control does not make our actions haram. However, trading forex is our choice, it is in our control. Therefore, better to stay away from haram as much as possible. Can you transfer your open trades or CFDs outside broker's account. Can you buy your groceries or pay bills via using CFDs. No, such CFDs remain with the broker. A mere access to trade such CFDs does not mean that you own it. Be clear, do not lower down your guards to accept the haram as halal. I have seen your previous video, where you decided to quit forex and share your POV. You were absolutely right. Now you reverted back to forex because it is adopted at large. This is what shaitan makes us believe that you are doing the right thing.

Which is a beauty in itself because our scholars often stand in unison on key points of Shariah. I would like to hear a strong opposing view on it being halal vs. haram. Most viewpoints on it are haram. But, I kind of feel like the people who discuss this aren’t knowledgeable of how trading works. Forex is a market place unique to itself. It has some elements that can make it a legitimate industry and some gray areas as well. The gray areas are our concern. Forex involves: . Leverage ❌= Haram . Interest (Swap Rates) which can be avoided by intra-day trading. . It involves some elements which would considering opening “trades” to be loan like in nature. . There is an element of chance that is involved that makes it similar in nature to gambling. I often feel Allah (SWT) has given us conscience to be able to detect right and wrong. If it feels wrong it most likely is wrong. May Allah (SWT) have mercy on us for in which we engage in good faith.

    Why do some brokers say that you're trading real stocks, and real crypto and some brokers say that you're trading CFDs stocks and crypto? That means I can trade future in binance rather than spot trading because I'm a scalper? And if you can show us what we can do, what we could trade because I'm a little bit confused with future trading and leverage in general

    When you trade crypto, stocks, commodities etc using MetaTrader, you are trading CFDs. When you trade crypto by buying the actual coin in said quantity, through a crypto platform then you are buying the actual currency. Same goes for stocks. When you buy the actual stocks or shares from a platform that actually sells you the actual stocks or shares, you are buying the actual stocks and shares. It is MetaTrader that allows you to trade CFDs.

    Thank you for taking your time on this one ! Clear explanation on every single point. But I have a question concerning the CFD, a large majority of people say CDF in it self is Haram because of speculation and the fact that you actually buy “nothing”, so how is it an counter argument for the halal pov, I did not really get it ? (Appart from being the counter argument to people saying you need to own currency)

  • @EPresidential

    @EPresidential

    You are actually buying a contract brother. We are buying and selling the contracts, this is what CFDs are. Online trading is buying and selling these contracts not the actual underlying assets. This is what you have to understand. You are however speculating on the price of the underlying asset, which in our case is currencies. Now speculating is halal or haram, I can’t say that. I have an understanding of the markets. How the currencies perform, technical analysis, fundamentals, all of these go into the trading of these CFDs. So does that still make it haram? I believe if I follow the way I have explained in the video then I should be good. May ALLAH forgive me if I’m wrong and guide me to the right path. Ameen.
