What I hate is how I am expected to be passionate and express a lot of interest in someone yet be completely ok with them ghosting me and feeling emotionally detached from that

These are such good insights about dating in general :’) I have just gone through a breakup and am dipping my toes back into dating (more in person, so it’s slower and even filled with more anxiety because intents aren’t clear) and I really needed to hear all these, about my past relationships and my journey ahead!

I just feel weird about dating online. It feels as though you are shopping for a spouse. I feel that meeting people in person is much easier, since you get to know the whole person and not just their profile picture/texts. I've also had some somewhat unpleasant experiences on christian dating sites. I'm praying that God will bring the right man in person and I continue to put myself out there and seek first the Kingdom of God.

I have been ghosted while online dating. At first I used to take it very personal then I realised I took it very seriously due to my insecurities. It is a good one of a kind product for making any women beg to get your hands on them without the hard work. Ive heard some interesting things about it and my cousin after a lifetime of fighting got great results with it.

I feel like online dating has such a stigma to it but how else am I (a certified socially awkward person) gonna meet someone hahaha and honestly, dating apps have helped me a lot in having conversation and getting to know people with different backgrounds and it's super cool! But as someone who gets attached pretty quickly, I also got so many disappointments. Like having an amazing date or even dated someone for two months, thinking they would lead to somewhere good, but they end up not being what you expected is frustrating on so many levels. I guess that's why some people have an on and off relationship with dating apps, cuz it just gets tiring at a point.

@@katrin6388 to be honest, with online dating if you are talking to a lot of people at once, and decide to focus on one person or a few people, you just naturally stop responding to the others. The problem is when one person has a ton of options and the other person is super focused on the other person. Definitely talk to a few people at once and don't get too stuck on one person until you meet up or go on a date with them IRL

Lol most people on dating apps have gf/bf and they just looking for a quick hook up and they just trying to feel you out. If you bring up topics about the future or marriage or relationships you can scare them away. And everyone is chatting with multiple people no attachment

I like your positivity and wish I could have as much of it as you do! It just feels like I “missed my chance” to find the one in college. If I could go back in time, I would. Instead I pushed myself to work hard and get a job all the while ignoring the more important thing, it seems. (End rant)

Great question. I think even when Rebekah says making friends first, the friendships might be on the more social/superficial level. For Rebekah, it seems that it is cool to meet different people, and that is sufficient for Rebekah and many people. For Rebekah, being friend is more utilitarian because it helps manage one's expectation so that one does not take things too seriously too early on and that one can enjoy the process of dating more.

I agree with being friends first. Apparently hinge uses writing prompts, so the person would respond to your prompt (rather than swipe) and I feel like that could create a dialogue for friendship.

One thing to understand is; momentum is everything .... if the conversation dies for more than 2 days that match is 99% chance not going to respond ever again. Another: women control the whole game on who they ghost and lead on.

My girlfriend and I are very different. She’s the youngest of 6 siblings while I’m the oldest of 5. Her family is still married (despite despising each other) while mine were never married (and no longer together). Her family immigrated from Laos while mine were born in California. She likes pop music. I like heavy metal & rap. We have a son together!! He’s 3 and we love him to bits. Even though our parenting style are a bit different we both “compromise” and understand that neither of us know everything about parenting, life, etc. Don’t take life too seriously or it will cause much more stress. Love & patience comes first. Arguing is ok, as long as it never turns into yelling and or physical fighting. As far as marriage goes.. we’ve brought it up from time to time. It’s a possibility later on down the road but we don’t believe it’s necessary at the current moment. Thanks! Great video btw

I’m trying Hinge for the first time, and I’m feeling very “inadequate” - almost every guy has these cool photos of their trips and adventures…and I’ve hardly travelled out of the province 😒 But it’s fun going through all the profiles! I feel like if u dont actually have a goal with dating ur gonna waste ur time. If you want to just meet people then meet people for friendship, ideally ur same gender. Trust, the relationships will last longer its worth more to just invest with friendships. If you want a relationship be honest with yourself dont pretend to be casual because ur afraid of failing if u admit what you really want.

Also taking it not to serious is a big Key you mentioned wich i also learned later on aswell, in the Past i would take eveything so serious and would believe every little Thing, but now its like different. Its very important to not take it too by Heart otherwise your Exceptions might get destroyed with that Person you had. Cause its true you never know that Person on the other side truly. ✨ Thats why i got my Points and my Rules so it wont turn into an Disaster.😌💯 And even if it does, the Option is still there to break it off with that Person. If you don't share the same Goals, Futureplans, Mentality, Lifestyle (If you are a Relationship Person or a Fuckperson), Likings its gonna be hard to get along with that Person.🤌🏻💯✨

This video did not really explain why it is worth it to go through all the feelings. Wouldn't it better to date with people whom you can trust and you can process feelings constructively with? Also, it is easy to say it is okay to make mistakes becuase you can learn something, but the video doesn't really say how one learns to be a better or more qualified person after mistakes; the video is more about moving on and keep trying. It seems to be a very lottery approach to dating.

Yep tried hinge. It was just as disappointing as all the rest. People are not going to pay money for any kind of service that doesn't produce results. This just another womans view when men get response about 1 out of 100 tries. The problem is only half the app. The real issue is women unrealistic expectations.
