What I found to be very helpful is not let the new person/ friend knowing anything about my previous relationships. That way they can't use or duplicate anything against me. I just say we'd different opinions about life.

I don't know if I could do on line dating. I take my hat off to you for being a strong woman. Was that you walking in time with him 😂 so cool.. I'm glad you had a good normal date 💯💯💯

I have a feeling it went really well. You're smiling a lot! I can't wait to see how these other "outings" go! I'm swearing off men for a while! I'm mourning my husband that passed 7 years ago tomorrow and my fiance passed almost a year ago! 2 weeks ago, I had a married man at church start messaging me. At first, it was simple and he was asking about my marriage from my husband that died 7 years ago. He was abusive and hateful. Anyway, this man started sending me videos to watch about how he treats a wife/date. He asked me if his wife passed would I go out with him if he waited 5 weeks to ask me!! Then he sent me a video about Romeo and Juliet about unrequited love and how they had to hide their love for each other!! NOPE! I already told him I am not that woman! I told him not to text me again! Not to talk to me at all!!

I hear ya mama!! One thing I will say is that a woman in my 40s now, I do wish I had prioritized meeting more men when I was younger. I focused on my education and business and by the time I was ready to date the pool was awful. Everyone told me the same thing (don't worry about these men) A lot of times these women were speaking from their own negative experiences. So I get that. I think women can do both successfully. I always tell my younger sistahs to date but date smart. It's harder the older you get, especially as a woman with a certain financial status. You are always leery of meeting leaches. Your pool is larger when you are young. All the best to your daughter!!

Those college boys are only want two things your daughter and education. She'll have plenty of time to bother with the opposite sex, right after she passes the Bar Exam and not before. They will come in handy when looking for a job.

POF when I tried it over 8yrs ago, ended up being a hookup site. Got off quickly 😢. Bottom of barrel types were on there. Hopefully it's gotten cleaned up.

I wish you the best. I did the online dating back in the early 2000s thru 2008. I'm done. I met a married man (ugh) and a bunch of liars. Decided I'd rather meet men in person. It's harder to do that now though. I love that you are sharing your experience and I do know plenty of people who met their husbands online. All the best!!

"Running late" doesn't necesarily mean "I"m worthless so why bother" OR "I hate the world and my buthering kit is in my trunk." Of course, getting know each other's friends is pretty important. If you two don't like each other's friends, that's a red-flag - either yours or his. And you two need to understand THAT equation.

You can set up a picnic meeting with your friends and make him feel pretty uncomfortable at first. But then wait and see if HE reciprocates. Guys may not want to show off their 'dates' to pals, OR VICE VERSA. Lotsa guys hang out with others that really ain't the best kinda friendship-material, after. Guys can go out with drunks, dopers, liars, thieves, etc, but they know these are NOT good people - NOT good friends. So when a woman sets up a gathering or invites a new date to a party of HER friends, she should stand back and see how he reacts the next day, week, etc. See if he reciprocates without you prodding. If he does or doesn't, well... it's material worth studying, at least. And your party-pals will have an experience as well. What if HE likes a party-friend more than you? GOOD - see if NOW, early on. Wave and say bye, because real friends probably won't find True Love so quick - they already would have. You can free yourself of untrustworthy friends AND a prospective suitor that should be cast aside anyway. Do it soon - you have so much MORE TIME to regret it later! ha ha
