I love "IF" another amazing b-side track...

I don't really know how to describe it, not even if I didn't try it in English, but what I feel towards them is different from my other bias groups and even ult groups. It's more of a deep appreciation for them as a group and their music, rather than just finding enjoyment in their songs. The most recent example for this is probably hyungus reading sessions on vlive. He doesn't have a lot of free time but still decides to share his precious reading time with us, as he thinks it'll help us having a study or reading buddy. And I couldn't be more thankful for that. I barely managed to get through exams but I now always go back and put on one of his reading vlives when i study or read. I don't know how I even survived before he started them tbh. Also you're completely right with them being underappreciated. They don't have a win yet and RBVV also messed up with not letting them promote 'parting'. That song could habe gotten them so much exposure but no, we can't ever have nice things because of bridgey. And boyy you may think you're ready for their covers or albums reaction but trust me when i say you're not 😂

A Book In Memory is indeed their latest comeback, it's from the MEMORY: illusion EP. But it's not their latest song; Kanghyun's written a new one called AuRoRa, which they showcased in their twin Black and White concerts on Vlive+ last weekend. Spoiler: _It's a fucking banger._ As with most Onewe songs, there are multiple versions of Feeling Good; there's a 2019 version on their EP 2/4 (also on their ONE album), which has a similar vibe to this MAS 0094 song, but is still pretty darned different. CyA's rap segment and Kanghyun's guitar solo are _completely_ replaced... For some reason, the song always reminds me of Steely Dan... 0094 references their age range (their youngest, Dongmyeong and CyA, were born in 2000, and their eldest, Yonghoon, in 1994; he's exactly a week younger than SuA 🙂). Onewe and Oneus released Last Song as the culmination of their reality show "We Shall Debut", which followed their final phase of training as MAS and RBW Boyz before finally debuting as Oneus and _re-debuting_ as Onewe. I think in the long run Onewe will have longevity. Because they are talented musicians. They are still very young. I’m glad RBW lets them do their own thing. Cya has so many projects on his sound cloud with other musicians not with RBW also with Ledo and Ravn. I’m feel that if some other big company had picked them up they most likely would have been split up or made into a boygroup. As bands go in the Kpop world- I think they are doing pretty well given that there is a preference to k groups. Heck even I’m listening to them and making comments.

Oh my gosh whenever people react to Onewe they never react to their stuff when they were MAS 0094 and they were still so good back then! Obviously they've really come into their own after becoming Onewe, but they've always been great! A Book in Memory is now my favorite though. The lyrics and the way the entire song was composed and the arrangement just fits my taste to a "T!"

Hmm ... hadn't thought about a favorite Onewe song before but currently it's A Book in Memory. It's a masterpiece that was an instant classic on release and gets better with every listen. How it didn't even make a dent on the k-charts is either massively unjust or just indicates how out of step I am with popular taste. The latter is undoubtedly true because I hate the disco pandemic in kpop that refuses to go away. My listening in 2020 was dominated by RBW artists and I think Onewe's output was more than on par with Mamamoo and Oneus. Onewe released four terrific singles: End of Spring, Parting, Q, and A Book in Memory, a fantastic full length album called One and the single album Memory: Illusion that contains A Book in Memory and two great b-sides, Trauma and Eraser. Imo Onewe has the biggest disparity between quality and popularity in Korean music.

Thanks so much for such a well thought out comment my friend! I think I am admittedly part of the camp that really likes the disco sound in kpop and some artists last year did it incredibly well BUT it became old extremely quickly and at the end of the day there were less than a handful of those kinds of releases that I actually enjoyed. But anyway I totally agree with what you're saying - the disparity between quality and popularity is evidently pretty huge but I hope that only time changes that and works to their advantage. They're an incredible band with such an awesome origin story backed up by an amazing friendship. I love them so much already!

@@LKTVLKTV I give everyone a pass on liking the nouveau disco songs because I've btdt and had a great time dancing to disco when it was new and fresh. It got old and stale pretty soon though and by the end of the 70's it was little more than a parody of itself. Likewise, the current kpop disco trend strikes me as a flash in the pan and I'm sure I'll still be listening to songs like A Book in Memory and some of the solo releases by MMM members when I've long forgotten most of the rest of kpop from last year. Btw, I may have mentioned this before but since you like k-rock one of these days you have to check out Hyukoh. Imo Hyukoh is the gold standard of k-rock and I'm kinda shocked to find that I like Onewe even more than them. 😂
