Mix fold 3 for hardware, One plus for the software.... if Xiomi can bring up the software in the MIUI 15/Hyper os release thats coming out very soon then it will be fantastic.

Im watching this video from the UK from my Xiaomi mix fold 3 which i got from Wonda Mobile at just under 1200 pounds. I have previously used the z fold 1,2 and 4, they were pretty decent...but felt like i was carrying a remote control in my pocket all day long. The Xiaomi fold 3 is by FAR the best foldable i have owned. Super skinny, candy bar design, fast charging, excellent speakers and cameras. I do love that huge camera bump on the One plus open but it's still a bit thick and no wireless charge and about 200 quid more expensive. The only gripe i have with the Xiaomi is that the cases are VERY hard to find which is pretty understandable because the phone isn't even available to buy here in the UK. But @AverageDad, i agree with your previous video rant at Samsung... They really need to up their game because Xiaomi, one plus, pixel and honor have REALLY overtaken them with the physical appearance...

the audio samples are too long. We dont need to hear 30 seconds of audio from each device to know whats better. By the time you get to the second device, weve already forgotten how the first one sounds.

I got the z fold 2 since 3 years now and i've waited for the z fold 5 but...what a joke...barely the same phone 3 years after? Not for me. So i've been waiting for the v2 but still not there and if what you said is true, not before february...come on, it has been sold in china since july! I want the full GMS so there is the oneplus but no wireless charging and for the night charging or in the car it's so easy...so i'm still waiting 😢

I love my Xiaomi Mix Fold 3 with EliteRomLite. Everything works great and also Android Auto. Fast wireless charging is so nice and that's why i choose the Xiaomi.

Can you comment on the customization options? I have mix fold 3 and the Chinese theme store is just fantastic. So many options and almost all of them are free (used Xiaomi global theme store in the past where you gotta buy most good stuff). How's it on OnePlus open?

I sent my open back, its a nice device but the camera bump was annoying and the outer screen was still a bit small (alot better then my fold 5 thats for sure). I think im going to get a mix 3 as you mentioned its the closest foldable to a candy bar sized device.

Love my mix fold 2 so I know I would love the fold 3. I could work around android auto not working but with the Open I don't have to.

I cancelled my order for the OnePlus Open Emerald Dusk as soon as the Voyager Black colour became available on the UK site last week. The Voyager Black has been "not in stock" since it was released on the Openplus UK site. I contacted OnePlus this morning and was informed that the Voyager Black will be available to order in the UK at "the end of November". Let's hope this is before the black Friday £250 off deal runs out!

I got the same answer. The £250 coupon shows an expiry date of 17th November in my account. I'm almost certain the black will be available on the 18th 😂 😭😭😭

I am using both vivo x fold 2 and one plus open. And after software update I can use portrait split screen with youtube on vivo. Moreover, colors on vivo are more appealing and vivo, though heavier, feels premium. Two biggest gripes about one plus is that it doesn't let us resize the split screen and no reverse tent mode is possible. Camera wise one plus is better.

You can shoot selfie using cover screen and main cameras.

I really liked my Mix Fold 2 but it was not compatible with Android Auto OR my Mobvoi Health app (for TicWatch pro 5). I'll definitely be selling it to replace with the OnePlus Open. Thank you for all info from your content, keep up the amazing work!

Man something that comes into play in the states. Is 5g speeds xiaomi 3 may be the best foldable but because I can get max 100gbps down in a few spots and no android auto. The one plus wins for me as well. Plus from the jump my favorite foldable was always the find N. So maybe add data speeds as a category cause it really makes a huge deal.

Is it worth the wait for the next gen of foldables, or is it already as it good as it gets??

The xiaomi mix fold 3 has one of the best Foldable designs I've ever seen . The lense on the back of the one plus is debatable design wise. My s23 ultra is my favorite design wise and feature wise but with the z fold 6 Samsung has work to do. Average dad are you still a fan of the s23 Ultra as well?

Hi @average dad, thanks for the video. I’m looking for a Foldable as my preferred foldable would be great in battery life and should support eSIM. Thus far I could find only Samsung Z Fold5 and Oneplus Open, but unfortunately Oneplus doesn’t have a schedule of releasing it in the UAE.

I heard a rumor on one KZread tech channel that Xiaomi is going to release Mix Fold 4 globally in 2024. So waiting for its confirmation. Big screen is my priority. Otherwise I will go for the OnePlus Open.

Good video, however open canvas is not really a software advantage because you can get a similar effect with the global taskbar with more functionality.

@@AverageDadOfficial horizontal split is a gimmick, apps are side by side with taskbar and same when swiping up and you get as access to more apps at once. Android auto and stylus are not a product of open canvas. Shall I continue to prove you wrong?

There is nothing the Xiaomi can do that the OnePlus can't whereas the Xiaomi can't do most of what the OnePlus can. You are clearly young or unstable but I will let you off. Next time, own the phones before you comment, do the research and maybe ask your parents for permission before you comment

I have the Mix Fold 3 Carbon Fiber and i love it. Yes it takes a bit of work getting rid of some of the Chinese stuff, but the camera set up is brilliant, hold a charge for more than a day, wireless charging and charging speed in amazing. Im not too worried about multitasking or pen support. For me the Oneplus just isn't a pretty device

Not sure about WhatsApp but the native text messaging app on my MF3 has no lag on Tmobile-USA (Google messages does for some reason)

Xiaomi has 10Mpix 5x optical zoom, Oneplus has 64Mpx 3x optical zoom what means it can give 12mpix at 6x optical zoom, only downside of this is that we get output from 1/4 inch sensor instead of full 1/2”.

Also if you need your work email profile on a Chinese ROM phone it will not work properly on the Xiaomi. It is a big difference if a phone has been optimized for Google services or not, it is really not that straightforward by just downloading the PlayStlre, that is false. Also notifications will be an issue with the Xiaomi

5x for portrait? Surely you're having to stand on another island to take those potrait photos..?

There is one more limitation of MiUI china rom and that is it cannot connect to any smart watch.

Hi with Xiaomi 13 ultra china rom no 20 band in Italy I have problems I use Wind/3 company 5g so I don't buy chine phone with no 20 Band...I think are not comparable a global rom with a china rom that has always some problems

One thing for people considering the Mix fold 3 256GB... it only has 12gb of RAM. While the 512/1TB has 16GB. I dont think RAM matters these days but might be good to future-proof.... so something to consider... (one of the reasons I bought the 512 GB version)

@@vrslider it’s band 20 on 4g…. All 5g bands are supported. Band 20 issue is a factor, however I been using my mix fold 3 for last 2 months in the uk and hasn’t been a major issue.

Excellent comparison, i agree with your comments and think either phone will do the job required. I have settled on the One+ but will keep an eye out for what comes out with the gen 3 chip. Most likely being built now somewhere in China.

One notable difference is that your can't connect your global wear Os watch to the Chinese rom. You can get some notification to work but most doesn't. Had to ditch my Samsung watch with goggle pay
