I'm pretty sure those few drops of water squeezed their way in at the very end, in the deep underwater test. Seeing how no air bubbles were leaking at any point, air inside must've been getting compressed enough to let a little bit of water in. Even then, it didn't end up on anything that can be instantly damaged. Pretty solid protection overall.

Common ppls buy this phones for using genuinely and always keep it safe mostly from water either it’s ip68 certified or not they always keep theirs phone safe and obviously it’s around 60k rupees in Indian currency investing such amount on cellphones is a big deal for common ppls... it’s a great phone to use 👍

The one plus 8 pro is very bad it has display issues and once when a glass of water got spilled on it, it got damaged and now one plus is asking 44k for repair. One plus can never catch samsung hand in these stuffs

When I pulled off the factory screen protector it ripped a little bit of the oleophobic coating off in three places. You can see it if you wipe it down with a damp towel

My OnePlus 8 pro under warranty, fingerprint sensor is not working. OnePlus service center is saying it's liquid damage and will be charged for display replacement. Being IP68 Rating can company charge for liquid damage.

I've had my 8 Pro since it was released, my biggest complaint is that the phone gets hot easily if it's in any kind of sunlight. My 2nd complaint is the rounded screen, you have to have a case on this phone otherwise it's almost impossible to hold the phone and have the touchscreen functions still work. 3rd complaint every glass screen protector I've tried makes the touchscreen freak out and touch is affected by the screen protector so much so it makes the phone touch applications you haven't touched, like random touch issues so I've given up on finding a glass screen protector.

I had mine dunked in a creek a little above the speaker. Had to play a high pitched sound because water got in the speaker.

Так или иначе, несмотря на то, что вода попала внутрь, смарт остался жив, и это плюс. Я не думаю что рядовой пользователь будет погружать девайс в воду на продолжительное время намеренно. Защита должна спасти от случайных моментов попадения смарта во влажную среду. Вода так или иначе найдет лазейку, тк с увеличением глубины, увеличивается давление. При его непродолжительном воздействии, совсем небольшое количество попавшей воды внутрь не повредит девайсу. Вообще, по-хорошему, для меня остается загадкой, почему до сих пор все платы не заливают лаком для изоляции, в таком случае вода, даже попав внутрь, не повредит многим элементам, а лишь только может повредить в местах соединения шлейфов.

I am using it.. Just like a nokia 3310 😂😂.. One thing remember it's gorilla glass 5 not 6.. So don't drop it.. Water resistance is super. In covid situation I regularly washed it with soap water. 😂 😂

I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND THIS TEST. Today, I shot a video using my Oneplus 8 pro under 10cm of tap water for 32 seconds exactly. (being the first time I submerged in water). Later that day my onscreen fingerprint scanner stopped working and the device shut down completely after 3 hours. Now I have to take it to the service centre. I have used iphones and Samsungs in the pool. But my Oneplus 8pro didnt last 32seconds. Oneplus truly disappointed.

Put your mouth on the speaker and literally try sucking out the water. I know my s10+ would do that if it got water in the speaker but sucking the water out would fix it. No damage, just muzzled from the water sitting on it.

I brought mine to a waterfall. Dept of about 1mtr max for only a combined time of about 5 mins. After I got home my volume buttons kept thinking I pressed them, the sound was muffled, a rice bath fixed that but the next day my camera lenses cover was full of condensation. Not very impressed to be honest.

@TECHNOPOST what if i drooped a phone in water bucket and i didn't knew? Ans after one hour i removed it, samsung phones will easily survive even 24 hours but oneplus cant do even one hour so we gotta accept it is worst in waterproofing
