This is the same for every OnePlus, Realme and Oppo phones. It has a throttling temperature of 42°C, whenever it crosses it, it throttles every app to 60Hz except some of it's own system apps such as Settings. Also you would see that some of the features in the display setting can't be turned on at that time stating that "Phone is too hot". This is the prime reason to avoid BBK for gamers. They should uplift the throttling temperature to 48°C which is present in Iqoo devices.

I disabled game space and it fixes the issue for me. Had a long 3 hour game session with charging .. could feel the phone heated but still fps didnt drop Call of duty 120fps ❤

This temperature cap/limit should be implemented in other brands as well. It's a nice feature. Gaming doesn't matter, battery and phone chipset matters alot. So protection is must.

Same problem is realme device user facing i use realme 10 pro plus device 40 upto hit phone after ui refresh rate are slow 120hz are not working 60hz running ui 😢

there's a thing called hyper response engine inside the touch optimization when you swipe the game bar. the hyper response engine basically locks the frame rate to 120hz so even if device is heating/throttling, the frame rate is locked. i cant guarantee if this works in bgmi or not because i play genshin at max on my 11R and temp goes up to 45 Celsius yet the frame rate doesnt come back to 60 however since genshin on android doesnt support high fps i cant measure the fps but i can see the frame rate at 120 through developers option's frame rate. please update me whether it takes any difference or not. i'll try it myself with bgmi. Edit: I checked and it doesn't work

Please try in bgmi. Turn that option on in settings already and then play bgmi when the phone reaches 41-42 degrees then you'll get to know as i am planning to buy 12r and loves playing bgmi. Only the difference in 11r and 12 is the chipset and the limitations are same..so please confirm. It's a request

@@swatimundhra_ okay I checked with bgmi with high performance on and turning hyper response engine on as well, I faced the same thing. The refresh rate is locked at 120hz however the fps drops to 60fps and remains there until the temperature goes from 43 to approx 38... So yeah, the hyper response engine doesn't work on fps limiter...

@@swatimundhra_ yes it goes back to 90fps however it takes quite some time for that since 90fps puts quite some toll on the processor. Hence can't really recommend OnePlus for gaming until this issue is resolved, I play genshin, it works pretty good...

It's the problem of bgmi optimisation and we can't help it cause this issue is not faced with any other games in playstore except for bgmi and codm

If you don't play then there are many Android phones in this range you can compare and must watch that model's after use reviews on KZread whether it has any problem or not. Few weeks before Some OnePlus devices were facing green line on screen problem. I don't know whether they fixed it or not.
