Знаю оперу почти наизусть. Немецкий не изучала, поэтому поняла только некоторые слова, и то, потому что всё знакомо. Но исполнение настолько блестящее, что любому будет всё понятно!!! Браво, браво, браво!!!!

As lovely as this is, she didn't sound at all good by the early 70s.

An interesting comment. A lot of the tone of a voice depends on the physical construction of the facfe and if you look at Ms. Lear and Ms. Ludwig you will see a sort of familial resemblance. And you are correct their voices do remind us of both of them.

@@tomsalmon6334 A story about Evelyn... we were great buddies. She said once at Bayreuth she and Tom (Stewart, husband) were coming out of the theater and a fan came up and said "Frau Ludwig, could I have your autograph." So she signed it "Best wishes, Maria Callas"
