Although not a native blender user but disciplined in many other 3d packages, I also started there. Been doing it for 16 years now, and at a point it becomes muscle memory. The things I can create in a day now would have taken me weeks if not months a few years ago.

To be honest AWESOME result for 1 year. I'm impressed!
I'm a gamer by nature. Love logic and building stuff. I have been aware of blender for years, but recently as a joke to my boss, i thought wouldn't it be cool to have a metaverse type place for the restaurants that we work at in South africa. So i started playing around with building a mesh model of one of our shops and the bug for using blender bit me hard. It's always been a fascination of mine to combine internet shopping, 3d internet places for the next gen of the metaverse. Step 1 has been taken. Thank you for sharing your journey.
Pretty motivating, just picking up blender myself and now im hype!
Your progress is amazing! Keep up the good work!

Thanks Marco (yes, I may have had a look at your videos ;)! Big fan of the animated 2D card into 3D, I've always wanted to try do something similar and I think you smashed it honestly! And yeah, I was lucky to already have video editing under my belt so I could just focus solely on the 3D stuff! Also funnily enough, I can't draw at all so rn I'm actually using blender to create art that looks 2D (an example would be my latest Shorts video on my channel) haha

I really like this comment a ton since I'm starting to learn blender and also 2d drawing for animation. I want my work to be like ufotable because the way they incorporate cgi with 2d is incredible. Do you have any tips for balancing the improvement with blender, drawing, and animation?
@da_drood-digitalart
Жыл бұрын
@@azpectral8500 hey bro, the only tips i can give you is this: when you start feeling frustrated working with Blender/video editing because of the complexity of the scenario you might encounter, don't be too stubburn and bask in frustration. Instead move to drawing and the study of 2d illustrations which can still be a challenge, but far more relaxing and definitely less frustrating 💪🏼😅 and of course never give up, as eventually with commitment you'll get there. This is so inspirational. I am doing this in 1 year from now I really love 3D. ❤ Thank you so Much!
its always amazing to see these one year progression videos, People make the things they like the most and its wholesome to see that. meanwhile i am over here learning sculpting for almost 6 months and made 0 new renders, i might just take a break of a month or 2 and then hop back in. Keep up the good work Edit: i am learning Sculpting mainly because i have made myself i guess a "rule" to not use someone else's work at all like using their 3D models in my render, no matter how minor of a detail it is i try to do it all myself. not that there is anything wrong with it. Beside for texture and while doing animations i use some 3D models that i find online since the main focus of that is animation. but rn i am at a point where i lost all motivation so i am going to take a break
@TheAimDown
Жыл бұрын
I think having a rule like that is great when making your own renders. I had a rule just like that in one of the renders in this video (the city corner one, with the bridge). While it wouldn't be appreciated as much in a work environment, I definitely feel like it helped me improve quicker as I was forced to model everything myself!
@samyanide

@@TheAimDown It helps a lot with learning and you get to appreciate the art more. These types of videos actually give me more motivation to continue doing 3D. i am most likely gonna learn Geometry nodes to do environment/Landscape type renders since doing all of it by hand is kind of hard. Best of luck with your work, maybe soon i'll upload my own blender progression video.

@@samyanide as someone who works as a 3d artist in the industry. I would say your approach is only useful if your goal is to be a generalist, which is a harder role to acquire. If you want to be an animator for example. Do not waste your time learning to sculpt. You’d want to spend time learning solely animation, then rigging as it compliments the role nicely. The same goes for other areas. You should practice 3d with a clear path towards your end goal, and learn the skills that compliment it.
Even from the beginning it looked like a professional's work. Well done.
