I love how varied your color palettes are, and how you talk about the experiments of style, material, and color leading up to the absolutely stunning first pages 😍😍 My favorite I think is the purple and yellow page on 20:39, but I also really love the very first double spread. I love the color and energy in your florals :)

I REFUSE to be without my etchr sketchbooks. I started with the smaller ones and have moved up and have hot press for gouache and cold pressed for watercolor. They’re EXCELLENT sketchbooks. Their watercolor paint is not so much lol. Anyway, your work is lovely.

@@SketchesnScrubshi I’m so sorry to bug you but I tried to go through some of your older videos to find out but I wanted to ask- for your gold watercolor highlights, what do you use? I find myself using the aqua bronze by Schmincke or Finetec/Coliro metallic watercolor. I’m always looking for the best, I’ve tried the handmade ones from Etsy for colored metallics. I find yours to be very bright so I was wondering if you had any recommendations? Thank you!

I use the Etchr paints: bit.ly/3UMQwaI If you get them from Etchr and use the code SKETCHES10 you will get 10% off. The set has 12 colours, and the gold in my paintings has been a range of 4 of their different golds. They are not open stock unfortunately, so I started off with royal gold, then made my way through and I am currently on Sand (last 2 paintings). First time viewer, still trying to find my style. Playing around with different mediums. All during covid I have devoured all kinds of artist videos on YT. I have very limited art supplies so I have been very hesitant to just jump in and start. I’m also a perfectionist and getting past that 1st page is very fearful for me, I don’t want to mess it up. My grand daughter is a wonderful artist. She sketches and keeps inching me along. I so admire all the artist work on YT, I am fascinated by everyone’s talent, I so want to paint like all of y’all!❤

I love your style. The use of colour and the splashes of gold always catches my eye. I'm glad I'm not the only one who has sudden bursts of output in their sketchbooks. Have you ever been to Atlantis Art Materials? They have so much in their space plus a cat that lives there. I love it and, even though it's not really anywhere near where I normally go in London, it's worth the extra travel to have a poke around.

My comfort subject is also florals, but more of a wet on dry style and single flowers, rather than bouquets. :) Loved the tour, you have some amazing pieces inside. And you can really see the progress you have made as an artist. It is inspiring :)

The realistic piece is amazing. And I love all the flower pieces with the gold accents. Etchr gold paints right? I know. They are still in my “want to buy” list 🙈. I love the backgrounds of your florals too. And yes I too am in the no backgrounds phase for my florals at the moment. I love the pink leaves on the gouache piece! Love the angular florals with the flat brush. I should try that too! ❤ Would be cool if you used like a white posca and draw some flowers on the purple acrylic ink. Roses are also my comfort subject. I need to learn how to draw more other types of florals so that I can vary my paintings more 😅

I guess my comfort subject is reptiles. Mainly chameleons. While I cannot draw them photo-realistic out of my head, I do know their general body mechanics and layout. Probably a little weird. I really loved your sketchbook. Everything is so pretty! You have a great eye for color! Also, I am now pondering a splurge for an Etchr sketchbook. All my paper is in pads or blocks, and the idea of a sketchbook is appealing to me right now. (My watercolors are loose in a shoebox currently. 🤣)

Right handed…paint all right hand side first- then flip the book upside down and over..the left page is now on the right. But that is if you don’t want the 2 page spreads ❤️

Hi, I love your work! By looking at your stuff it has given me excitment to keep going with watercolor and discover many new possibilities.
