We visited 2 weeks ago and I must say the reveal was a real WOW moment that we will never forget. The way the music builds up it really makes a magical moment before you get that amazing view. It's something none of the other decks gave us because you get little glimpses ahead of getting outside. Also I just wanted to add that although we went into the Oculus 3 times, I never realised that One World was perfectly framed in the spine so when we come back we'll have to pay another visit and get a picture.

It really is. I haven't been to the EDGE yet - but I actually like the view from One World better than any other NYC observatory I've been to!

Great video. Just one small omission: You didn't mention the island next to the Statue of Liberty. After the immigrants sailed into the harbor they passed the statue, then went to Ellis Island.

Yeah, I was visiting right after it re-opened, so people still weren't traveling or seeing the sights. It's much busier now! Meghan Markle and Prince just visited yesterday! In general, with any observatory, the earlier you go, the better for avoiding crowds.

IMHO, One World is overrated. I prefer open-air observation decks. I didn't like the OD deck in the towers, either. The window tint (and dirt) at One World inhibits decent photography. You have to use a polarizer to shoot through glass.

Yeah, it can be a little tricky to shoot content, but it also depends on your reason for visiting. A lot of people want to learn about the history, enjoy the views, and experience NYC rising like a Phoenix from the ashes. I worked there for years, and most people were enjoying being present in the moment.:-) of course, if your main goal is photography, other decks may be better. Curious about your thoughts on summit since a lot of that is indoors as well.

@@TheMeganDaily I no longer live in NYC but visit often (in fact, this coming week) I haven't yet visited summit but will while I'm there. And I agree, not everyone visits observatories to shoot content. I'm guessing observatories, indoor and outdoor, use glass now, but at least the glass at TOTR and Edge is transparant enough to photograph/video through. I haven't been to to ESB observatory since the 80s, so have no idea what it's like now.

@@TheMeganDaily I just returned from a weeklong trip to the City. I did visit Summit, but wasn't particuarly impressed. Top of the Rock remains my favorite observation deck. I considered doing City Climb at the Edge, but chickened out.
