Before taking on Bahamut, I actually ended up doing a lot of ‘missions’. So many in fact that by the time I decided to actually do the fight, I beat him first time without even breaking a sweat because I was at about level 20! Granted overlevelling yourself by constantly doing “missions” practically snaps the game in half but it makes it so much fun! 😊💜🌼

When I first played on PSP, I was addicted to doing every mission that was available every time I hit a save point. It was a blast! I need this for my Switch.

I played FF7 remake and this game for the very first time, and I got to say that one of the most interesting things has been learning about the background of the Buster sword. I knew it was somewhat iconic but never understood why….until now 😅

We are going to get the very BEST outta her when it comes to Aerith. She is actually a fan of the material. That is amazing 💙

About 50% of the way through the story having played it almost everyday of the holidays. Really enjoyed it.

34:44 In reality, if a person flies with only one wing, he or she would be spiraling out of the sky since the other wing is missing to maintain equilibrium 😂😂😂

I really like the whole of rock and metallic music this game's soundtrack has. Heavy guitar riffs and drums in contrast to the melodic soundtrack of Remake, even though CC has its own melodic gems as well.

"Can we agree this part is really goofy?" Bri this entire game is goof incarnate. 😂 Many things have aged poorly and couldn't really be saved unless they redid the whole dialogue and scenes from scratch. There's a sort of charm to it. How they went out of their way to make sure every last cheesy and cringe detail was still in this remaster haha. Anyway I'm here for it. The more goofy it is the more we can laugh together. :)

I thought G stood for Genesis and S stood for Sephiroth, that was my first idea when Hojo said S and G types.

Watching this playthrough is super fun because I get to reexperience one of my favorite games for the first time again by proxy. This game has a deep nostalgia for me so when I played Reunion who I would fight when, what their weaknesses were, what their tells were, which attacks could be dodged, which needed to be blocked, and the dodge timings all came flooding back like I was riding a bicycle again for the first time in forever. So I relish this opportunity to watch it be fresh for someone again, doubly so that I get to hear your thoughts on the wonderful backstory that this game provides, and the life you bring to Aerith as a character.

I don’t know how Bri has done it or if it’s just my imaginatIon but to me Aerith does sound younger in this game as opposed to FFVIIR. Still hoping that Aerith gets to say “Take!’ When opening chests in FFVII Rebirh. Come on Square Enix, you know it makes sense.

I finished the main story two nights ago after farming and doing every mission for a lot of hours. I truly look forward to your reaction to the scenes after the final boss.

I love the Horton quote at 11:00! I was distracted as this was playing, but as soon as I heard you say that, I was instantly reminded as it's one of my boyfriend's favorite movies. And yes, that one area is definitely giving Sastasha vibes from XIV. Loving the playthrough, Bri!

Just started watching this and I loved it haha it's hilarious watching you playing haha! Gonna watch the rest afterwards. As some other people have spoken, Thunder has a short range, it doesn't really miss as in the enemy is dodging it, they're usually just too far away for it to hit xD

I have played this part through. On chapter 5 at the moment and playing way too many side missions. Nice commentary about small details (photos), unrealistic mini games and confusing plot twists. Fun to watch!

If memory serves... I think VIT is physical defense, and SPR is magical defense.

Your Thunder Materia isn't actually missing targets, Thunder spell has shorter range than Fire and Blizzard. Really having fun watching your FF7CC series.

Yeah, the Slaps (flying bug swarm) enemies are pretty tough. They have strong defense against physical attacks. They are weak to fire, but as you can tell, that's tough to exploit because they can silence you and drain you magic quickly.

You're doing wonderful so far! As you experienced, the monsters in the missions do get progressively tougher. Even if the Mission Reward item is something that you already have, there can be other treasures to be found during missions. Exploring is definitely worth it!

Oh yeah... Occasionally, the developers get sneaky! Some treasures are easily missed because the boxes can be placed behind you at the start of some missions!

"Spirit" is magical defense, like endurance, but for magic.

Make sure when you do missions to look around the maps. Find the treasure boxes and sometimes special battles.

As to why the Thunder attacks seem to keep missing... I seem to remember that Thunder is kind of a close-range spell until the Materia levels up more. Thundara or Thundaga Materia may be more useful once you acquire them.

Question: would you also play some of the older (also maybe better) Final Fantasy titles? Such as Final Fantasy VIII HD Remaster or Final Fantasy X HD. Or wouldnt that be your cup of tea?

Your Lightning attacks have a range to them, which sucks because fire and Ice attacks don’t have range. So in order for your lightning attacks to connect you need to be closer to the enemy for it to connect.

Even though he's with Shinra and the job always comes first, he has a soft spot for Aerith deep down, that was brought out in an interview by the VA .

Also, the thing about Slaps (and other hornet cluster monsters in the game) is they don't necessarily have a ton of HP, but instead, they just have stupidly high defense. Fire/Fira/Firaga and related Magic materia are recommended for those evil bastards.

Might sound mean, but I loved how you reacted to not being able to take the takes! Do be watchful of the maps on missions and look EVERYWHERE as sometimes they even have chests behind you or behind walls, rocks ect.

It doesn't seem like you are doing side missions. I was pretty strong at this point and had exploder attack and jump, where jump helped me avoid many of bahamut's attacks.

If you want to one shot all enemies w glass canon materia go build high jump then hp %+, atk and vit build ez game all one shot plus an accessory that amplifies your skill/materia damage and gives 20atk + 20 vit. 1 high jump = 9999 damage🤣
