Love the video guys, its exactly what I have been doing for the last 20yrs except for I open my stance and clubface a little bit which allows me to follow the target line a fraction longer, which in turn means less room for error. Everyone wondered how I chip so well , well you guys just gave my secret away lol. Great video .

My issue is. I play on poorly maintained courses. And sometimes the ball is on hard ground barley grass at all sometimes it's baked dirt. This is when I hit the ball with the base of the foot of the club and over shoot because I can't hit the ground at all. Literally a putter works better. Which I've started using

This great advice and very clear. I have come to realise this is very similar to how I have been chipping the ball but will the club more forward. Now I know what I should be doing and with drills to practice hopefully my short game cam take a leap forward.

I would love those MG2 wedges, I like to play flop shots and bump and runs
This channel has helped me cut down my strokes considerably! Thanks and I Am forever tuned in to toy guys.
I like the fact that there are many ways to accomplish the same thing. That being said....the key is consistency. This drill will definitely help me achieve that goal. Thanks mates!!
I must say this video came at a great time. Just started playing again after a multi-year layoff and back recovery. My wedge game used to be pretty good and it completely fell apart.. I can't wait to get out and grind these drills in practice. Thanks a bunch.
I love these guys! They are fully responsible for me now shooting in the low to mid 80s now! I have been struggling with my short chips as of late and I think these tips will definitely help! Thanks guys and continue doing what you do!
I love to hit the high 30m flop shots that end up going onto the wrong green 150m out!

Excellent tip, thanks gents.
These videos are very well presented (humorous, yet informative) and not overloaded with excessive details. The newest chipping video does a great job of presenting two very different approaches and makes me want to get to the practice greens to try both asap. Thanks.
Just amazing...so this lesson is in direct contrast from what my pro taught me (he taught the forward shaft-lean + opening face to expose bounce)...however, I WAS susceptible to the dreaded STUB into the ground. I've now used your lesson for a round and it worked LIKE A CHARM! I feel like this was one of the most valuable lessons I've EVER had in 20+ years playing & taking lessons here & there. I wish I had learned this years ago...sometimes all you need is for someone to show you. Thanks guys!
I have been trying this technique and it has really helped me with my chips. Goodbye skulled balls and dig-ins!!
Great "hitting the ground" drill for using my pitching wedge near the green. Thank you...
Another great video guys. It somehow always seems clearer when you have 2 people discussing an element of the swing. I am currently struggling with my chipping, but will be going onto the practice ground to work using these drills. Thanks again!
I have struggled with chipping yips for years, and this video, more than any other video I've watched, or even lessons, helped me understand that it is the fear of hitting the ground that is the main culprit!!!! Thank you so much for the help! I feel like I have a chance to turn the page on the chip yips finally!!!
I've been struggling with my chipping lately. I tried this technique and my chipping improved immediately. With more practice, I know my confidence will increase.

I know this is old. But any additional advice
Even though I am often on the verge of despair, I love the feeling when my ball rolls perfectly from the bunker to the hole.
Thanks for this lesson. I've always been confused between pitching and chipping. Keeping the clubface neutral through the ball was the new thought for me. I've tried to hit down on the ball to take a divot in front of the ball. It hasn't been pretty.
Thanks guys, easy one to practice in the backyard. I concentrate on BRUSHING the grass and it helps a lot. Looking forward to more tips. 👍
This justifies my sweeping chip motion which thought it was unconventional- now its a goal to be perfected
I love how golf can bring everyone together On this channel unlike others, no matter what skill differences.
Tried this out yesterday and I think it saved me a couple strokes. Thanks for another nice tip and some drills to get it consistent
Thank you. I've been struggling with my chipping. I'll try these tomorrow.
Did this today! I only had 1 where I sent it through the green. All the rest landed on the green and not too far from the flag!
I would love a new wedge to use in my tournaments next golf season! My favorite shot to hit around the green is a bump and run with my gap wedge!
Another great video guys. Love the simple explanations and demonstrations. I’ve found much more success in the short game with letting the club glide the grass. Will def take some some these tips to the range!
I Have been struggling with my chipping but since I started to incorporate your trailing tips things have improve drastically. Thank you so much.
Love that there is no one way or “right way” to do something

You guys have helped my game tremendously. 12+ HC heading into 2020 and was sub 8 towards end. Shooting for 4 in 2021. Keep up the good work.
This is the best tip I have ever received from a golf channel. My chipping has improved dramatically. It's increased my confidence with my stroke, so my yips are gone! I can consistently get the ball on the green, and now I'm working on distance control. Thank you both very much!
This works well when the ball is “sitting up” in more lush grass. What’s the method for dry, tight lies?
The drills that were mentioned i am thankful for. I felt like i was doing something wrong with the back swing with the wrist action but i will experiment more on it and keep progressing. Thanks for the helpful videos gents.
Great, short video about chipping and a new way to think about it. Really liked learning a couple exercises to do towards the end. Thanks, guys!
Well this definitely solves about 3 years of irritation with my short game.

Only just startet golfing, but are completely smitten already :-) and these videos are a much valued supplement to the tips and teachings from mentors and trainer. thank You guys for doing them.
This is the best tip....been struggling with chipping, killing my game. Started using this method and have saved so many shots in last few games
Thanks for the clarification. The tour pro at my local golf course advocates shaft lean and ball back in stance and I think I have chunked enough dirt to form a new trench on the course. Naturally it didn’t feel right to me so having a more neutral club and using the bounce of my wedges I’m happy to see you guys agree and are teaching this way!
I know it's 2021 but just found this video and I am so excited to go practice this. Thank you!!
Sweet to see that what ive been doing for two years or so is actually not wrong at all! Thanks for the drills! Its hopefully bringing more consistency!
This is a great tip! I started out chipping like this and was told to do otherwise by other KZreadrs. Thanks for getting me back in my bag
This is the best chipping lesson I’ve ever had. Works a treat and has transformed the worst part of my game to one of the best. Thanks guys.
Great method! I love the concept, and you guys explained the bounce better than anyone I've ever heard. Definitely trying this in my next range session. Thanks!
Have been struggling with my chip shots all season - this helped a lot and my confidence have been boosted by the change in mindset. Planning on extending the mindset to the bunker as I believe this would help too.
Loved the tip on chipping near/around the green. I definitely had the yips on these short chips-chunks/skulls. I practiced today focusing on brushing the sole about an inch behind the ball and it worked! Got rid of my yips almost instantly. Thanks so much!
Enjoyed this lesson today. I have been working on committing to the shot when chipping and it has helped. I think this will make me more consistent. Thanks
This is a revelation, just been out on my front lawn trying this and using the bounce of the club is so easy by not forward leaning the shaft. Even my bad ones were good!! Thanks Guys, love it.
Great lesson. I've had a yips for years and looking forward to trying this out. Thanks.
best tip i have had yet, thank you!!! Had the chipping yips and now am hitting crisper chips. I love the two tees 2in back.... I use the hinge and hold with hitting behind the the ball and have become so much more consistent!! TY
Great way to teach golf….understanding the “intention” made it so easy for me. I let my brain work out naturally what had to be done which meant I wasn’t stood over the ball with a head full of technical thoughts. It worked in the garden so fingers crossed it’ll work on the course tomorrow!
Looking forward to putting these drills into practice. Nice and simple. Thanks guys. 👍
I've been learning to use the bounce and swing like you demonstrated and my golf buddy 10 years has finally asked me advice. He loses slot close up. Thanks for your lesson.
I love ideas like this. It is simple and logical and, best of all, increases the margins of error. Thanks for the lesson!
Thank you for all the suggestions you have made . Look forward to taking what you have discussed and apply it to my game.
Been watching your show from the beginning! Easy to apply your drills and love the simple details
Glad I found this video. I appreciate the simple direction. I DO have the chipping yips right now and excited to work on this today. Thanks boys!
Fantastic video!! Explained so well what I need to focus on... can’t wait to get out and start chipping. Thanks!!
This is so simple. I wish I had this information years ago. I have been doing the drills and it fills so much more natural then anything I have done before.
Thank you for this revised thinking "intention" when chipping or short pitching. What adjustments do you need to make off hard-pan or very tight lies? I've always thought a more "leading edge" approach was less risky on those kind of chips, short pitches. Keep up the good work guys, that was an excellent short game instructional video as you integrated different styles (i.e., Woods vs. Day) and Drills to gain "feels" and master technique.
Really helpful tip. I have been dying around the greens lately using old technique. 8 handicap with four or five lost strokes per round from bad chipping. Can’t wait to free up my mind using the ground first technique. Thanks for allowing for differences in personal feel and preferences while still giving concrete and helpful drills.
Great tip! addresses the issues I have with my chips. Thank you so much for the drills and insights into the club's design and using its construct to enhance my game.
Great tip. I can’t wait to try it. Thank you both for helping promote the game of golf. Keep up the great commitment! 👍🏽

Great advice in regard to avoiding the “chunk” shot. I will definitely change my chip technique. Thanks chaps.
This was/is a great video. In all the years I've played I never thought about it this way . . .Thanks Chaps
This makes so much sense allowing the club to do its job. It also keeps your swing in simple form not purposely doing a motion that could sneak into your intermediate iron swing

a golf pro told me that 40 years ago...i still can't figure that out...but this vid should help me tomorrow. thanks!
As a new golfer who has had a very weak short game, you've provided great tips for me to have more effective and purposeful practice sessions. Thank you so much!
I appreciate everything you explained with this tip for chipping. Most of my strokes come from missing greens forcing me to chip. Not having any confidence and becoming so frustrated I will either put it using my putter or 5 wood.
Brilliant! I love how you’ve brought together Utley and Ridyard
I been struggling lately with my control on chipping, this video is the answer to my pain!!! Thanks guys!!!!!
SUCH AN EASY CORRECTION, no fancy words, etc, great video angles to check the swings. Love it, the easiest tip so far and I have seen a few! Keep it up guys, btw my first visit of many from now on!
Great to have it explained in theory, so I could get it and practising better - and correct - this like a little game changer for the Short game! Thank you guys!
I like the thought process behind this technique. Letting the club glide across the grind removes the fear of hitting the ground first and duffing your chip shot. Great Job Guys.
Absolutely the best chipping tutorial I have ever seen! Always been a fan of the dead-hand wedge technique and as with most amateurs who are bew to golf, have struggled with inconsistent chipping. I live in sunny San Diego and most of the courses I play have tight lies. Made the small adjustment of hitting an inch behind the ball to my current technique and I was AMAZED at the consistent contact I was getting! I use 3 wedges (52/56/60°) and this technique works for all of them. As stated in the video, ball flught is a little higher then what I was used to, but its an easy adjustment to get used to. What I really like the most is I no longer have to think if I am chipping or pitching and what technique should I use. With this new process, you simply have to take a slightly wider stance and rotate the club back a little more depending on the distance you are trying hit. Kudos to both of you! Well deserved pat on the elbow! Cheers
Still a golf newbie and chipping is definitely my biggest worry when I play. Thanks for the clear advice, always a welcome notification
Completely changed my view of chipping. I can't wait to give it a try! Thank you!
Great team work in teaching. You break down the swing and body movement in a helpful way. I’m going outside right now to work on my new chipping shot. Joe
I’m looking forward to learning from your instructional videos so that I may improve my golf form. Thank you.
I like the fact you're keeping it fairly simple. I need to regain my confidence chipping!
Glad I found this video. Looking forward to the opportunity to practice and hopefully see improvement in my chipping.
Love this!!! My golf game, especially irons, has really improved with your tips!!!!
Concise and straightforward instruction combined with simple visualization-- ready for range time
Thank you for the chipping lesson. Looking forward to using it on the course!
Great tip been struggling with my chipping for a while, even went back to chip and run with 7iron coz had no confidence with wedges, but there back out now 👍
Loved this. I've tried several other things for chipping and this is the best tip by far.
Love the chipping tip and can't wait to try it. Hope it will overcome my fear of skulling or chunking the ball while chipping.
Just found your videos today. Great explanations, clear examples, and geared to amateurs. I am a subscriber now and look forward to more tips. Thanks gents
I was always told shaft forward and hit the ball first. I had no idea how that was meant to increase the consistency of a chip shot. I even practiced that way for a while but never saw results and just naturally moved to the method you guys described above. Great to see the way I have been practicing is the most consistent way to do it. I also get most my birdies (which are rare) from chipping so there you go.
This will be a game changer for me. I’ve tried the drills this afternoon and the chips feel more natural to me. Thank You.
Really enjoyed the tips / drills. I have gone from being confident in my chipping to being nervous and chipping poorly. The video is similar to what I heard Paul Azinger suggesting by using the bounce of the club when chipping particularly on tight lies.
I will try your technique. Thanks for taking the time to thoroughly explain the drills and intent of hitting the ground first.
Thank you for this video. I have struggled with my chipping...and this is the best instruction I have seen!!!
Great up-to-date instruction. Can't wait to get back out there and put this information to use.
A wonderful tip! I have been struggling with my short game and by far your tip is easy to follow. Thanks for sharing this. I cant wait to get going and improve my game.
Simple straight forward logical I cannot wait to start this method of chipping and accompanying drills. I dropped my hdcp 9 strokes this year and this will take me in to mid 80’s golf. Thanks you know have a new subscriber.
So many wasted years chipping with my hands way forward; this excellent lesson will have a big impact on lots of players short game. Keep up the excellent work guys!
Nicely done lads. This helps clear up some specifics subtleties in the short game. Definitely, getting the "intention" into the stroke is necessary to achieve optimum results. Thanks for this insightful & instructional video.
Great tip and I can’t wait to try out these two drills!
