the funny thing is that the "one red paperclip" trade had been criticized for being unfair due to the people the dude trading with knowing they were contributing to this challenge and thus being willing to accept one-sided trades to help him win the challenge. by not telling people what your end goal was, you proved that the red paperclip challenge can be recreated without that bias

Funny that you started with the Paper Tiger. That was the first item I found in the game, and I just stuck it in a random spot on the island. Eventually I kept finding more and more, so now I have a little Paper Tiger Shrine next to the museum.

Yeah butterfly models sell good on nookazoon especially the emperor butterfly trust me I buy them all the time well used to nice vid!

This just reminds me how I was low on NMTs so I sold nearly two full inventories worth of different types of wood for 60 NMTs. And the crazy part is my offer was 1 NMT PER 3 full stacks of wood! They were super sweet! Plus someone else gave me 10 NMTs when they only needed to pay me like 3 or something. The people of this community are so kind :)

doing unfun chores for someone else can do well in the long run! i remember i gave someone the materials you need at the beginning of the game (?) to bills blathers musuem and they gave me 30 NMTS! it can def be easy money if you have alot of materials just sitting in your inventory

Nookazon is wild... Someone once gave me an obscene amount of NMT's for some balloons... their island was "balloon core" lol

It’s a tradition for me to occasionally rewatch this video every once in awhile. That’s how much of a banger it was

Yeah I’ve played TF2 for years and I don’t really know much about trading at all so I’ve gotten so many items I don’t need and I have like three inventory pages of scrap metal a lot of it made into refined and I have no clue what to do with it because I don’t do training and you can’t sell it

Him: "This isn't very much value because 1,000,000 bells is just the normal price for this one book" Me: Is happy to literally get 10,000 per stack of 5 because I cannot fathom or understand these high prices at all

This video inspired me to do the challenge and I was able to make 113 NMT

This was so cool to watch! It'd be interesting to see how cheap an item you could start out with (i.e., stack of sticks or clay) and how long that would take to get to the full house payment. Especially if you only traded wishlist items instead of bells/NMTs. Maybe I'll have to try it myself sometime!

I mean they have had trading systems in Pokemon games that let you list Pokemon and get random offers, so its not that far from that but unfortunately they're likely done updating animal crossing

I once gave a person a bookshelf for 1 million bells and I think about them a lot.

This reminded me of when I first started playing ACNH I stupidly sold my Pagoda for 10,000 bells 🤦‍♀️

You could of made the pumpkin carriage that's pretty popular

If you have the cinnamoroll stuff (sofa, stool and hat mainly) they sell really good so if you can buy any of them for cheap that’s good. One of my first trades I ever did I sold the sofa for 200k I also sold the entire my melody set for over 100 NMT so (10 per item)

i used to love trading on nookazon! I have sort of burnt out from acnh but this video actually made me want to start playing again!

Was hoping you were gonna buy a paper tiger on Nookazon for 6.2M at the end to make it full circle

6:55 watching the offer you typed in the bar here is when I realized how thoroughly versed you actually are in Nookazon economy. You are in deep. I’m pretty familiar myself so I was like,, weirdly RELIEVED, to confirm that you know very very well what you’re talking about. And yeah most peeps on Nookazon are really nice! I find that the etiquette (which I enjoy so much) is speed, honesty, patience, kindness, and good communication. I’ve always had lots of really positive experiences on there.

I really love this concept! Interesting mix of a relatively obscure story from real-life and a video game challenge.

inventory only holds up to 4 million bells and the wallet 100k, thats why 2 trips were needed

Working on Nookazon for many months now and I gotta say, Im pleasently surprised at how nice the poeple on there are (probably cause no little timmy would make the work to sell on Nookazon) ^=^

I loved this video, but I would love to see you do this challenge again without trading for nook mile tickets since they're basically currency!

I’m exactly like this when using nooks. If I sell something, I try to give gifts, extra tickets, and or extra bells. There’s no reason to at all, but the way I see it is if somebody is looking on nookazon, they’d probably benefit from the extra random stuff. Whether they used it or sold it, lol

watching this vid after taking my art history final where i had to write about the gleaners and then seeing the common painting coming up was intense whiplash

I thought this was really cool but a paper clip is lower in value so it started off a little odd for me because I was thinking you’d start with ‘paper!’

When I was in 4th grade which was a year ago (I’m in summer and when it end I’m going to sixth) we got a packet was titled The Red Paperclip and I remember just reading the story so many times because it was so fascinating

Trading on nook axon is one of the best experiences I’ve had on ACNH everyone is so nice and out of the 10 trades I e had 7 of them literally over paid and when I asked if they meant to they all said yes literally the nicest people I’ve met on any game

You have inspired me to try this in real life, around my house, with my siblings.

I watched this video during breaks at work and it sure helped the day go by faster! This was a super neat idea and I actually learned a cool fun fact. I think an interesting challenge for ACNH could be one that could maybe involves the snowflake recipes, since making perfect snowmen (for ME at least can be so frustratingly difficult, I only managed to make ONE perfect the whole winter 😠) I don't know if this has any elements of chance to it though for what recipes the snowmen will give you, but if could be worth a try.

I don't know, some kind of challenge around any seasonal items sounds like it would be interesting, but I don't know exactly what it would entail because if you worked hard enough they seemingly aren't that hard to get. Unless your me during the first cherry blossom season where I only ended up getting two recipes by myself but at least I had friends willing to share with me.

Roll both snowballs until they won’t get any bigger, then put down 10 squares of in-game pathing, put 1 snowball at the end of the line, then roll the other one from the opposite end into the other one, and it might make a perfect snowboy! It works most of the time for me! Also Koramora has a video on it!

I think I'm gonna do this! I'm doing a villager hunt so I'd be looking for NMT's instead of bells, but I think I can do it!
